273 Choosing A Path
Wang Tian’s husband chose to get a divorce on the day their son’s illness relapsed.
That day, Wang Tian was still in a hurry to work. Her work was very busy. Once she went to work, she was like a fully wound toy. She started spinning non-stop and could not stop.
The grandmother who took care of her son called Wang Tian three or four times, but Wang Tian could not hear it.
She was talking to the client about the key project. If she picked up the phone, the 300,000 yuan project was in trouble.
Looking at her grandson who was twitching and foaming at the mouth, Grandma had no choice but to call the ambulance number. She almost cried as she got into the ambulance with her grandson.
The old lady was not in good health. That night, she fainted because of her emotions and high blood pressure.
Wang Tian only found out what had happened at night.
Fortunately, when they arrived at the hospital, their son and the old lady’s condition was still stable. Her son was lying on the hospital bed, his thin arms looking pale and weak against the white bedsheets.
After hesitating for a while, she told her husband everything.
Both sides were usually very busy with work. On the husband’s side, he could only see his son once every holiday. Seeing his son and mother suffer like this, his heart was about to break.
The two of them even had a big fight because of this. Wang Tian’s husband felt that she was being greedy. She didn’t even pick up the phone from home. How could the matter of the elderly and children be a small matter? Wang Tian felt wronged. She had worked so hard to earn money just to give her children and family a good environment so that they could live well in the future.
However, her husband said, “I don’t think you want to live a good life at all. You only care about money.”
Her husband, who had always been gentle and understanding, actually said such cold words. Wang Tian held the phone and her heart turned cold.
However, she still tried her best to control her emotions and asked him seriously, “Do you think I only care about money? What do you think I should do to make you believe that I’m not working hard for myself? Don’t I come back? What if my son gets sick again when I come back? Do you see him getting sick?”
There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone. The voice that came through was even colder, “Have you seen it now? It’s all your fault that our son is and my mother is like this.” At that time, they were in a small county together. Even if they worked from morning till night to earn money to treat their son’s illness, they had never made things so serious.
Wang Tian didn’t say anything. Large tears fell silently.
She even felt that her husband had changed into a different person.
Even when he heard her sobs, the other party did not relent at all, “Think about it. If we were still the same as before, living a simple life, you wouldn’t have become like this, right? I’ll apply for leave from school in a few days. I’ll come to Jiang City to pick you up.”
“What about work?” she had just established herself in Jiang City and had just started working.
“Resign. We still have a place to earn money. The textile factory opposite our house is looking for a finance department. The salary is not low either. It’s 1,000 yuan.”
It seemed that the road had been found for her. It was hard not to say that it had been planned for a long time.
He used his limited knowledge to define the people closest to him. He moved her around like an object.
Wang Tian was so agitated that she couldn’t speak.
However, the other party continued to talk non-stop. “If you come back, we can still have a second child. My neighbor said that a woman who doesn’t care about her family will have a change of heart over time.”
Wang Tian’s grief almost burned her out. She felt her mind go blank, and even her breathing felt cold.
“What if I don’t leave?”
“Then let’s get a divorce. I’ve had enough. If you don’t come home, how can this house still look like a home?” her husband answered smoothly without any emotion.
He didn’t seem to be arguing, but more like negotiating. He didn’t have any emotions at all, as if all of this had nothing to do with him.
“Alright, whatever you say.” Wang Tian finally hung up. The moment she hung up the phone, everything was silent. She was alone in the huge house.
The loneliness almost crushed her.
Her legs gave way and she collapsed onto the ground, wailing like a child.
Everything about her family had disappeared at that moment.
