226 Moving House
In fact, the new bungalow had already been tidied up. Qu Zhi thought that the smell should have mostly dissipated by now, so she could move in.
A while ago, Qu Zhi had managed to rent out the house she had bought for Chuchu. The tenant was a white-collar worker who didn’t stay in the house much and was very polite to others. Qu Zhi had met him a few times and felt that he was a very down-to-earth person. She didn’t have to worry about renting the house to him.
Now that she had collected the rent, she could still add some new furniture to her new home.
That day, she and Aunt Hui shopped in the mall for the whole day and bought all the vases, carpets, and other small items.
At night, she carried many bags of things home. Liang Wen understood immediately. “The new house has been renovated?”
He didn’t take care of this house in the first place and left it entirely to Qu Zhi to renovate. He estimated it was about time, and with Qu Zhi’s speed, it wouldn’t be strange if they could live in it now.
Then let’s set a date for the whole family to move.
These few days, Liang Wen had also started to transport things to the house. First, it was some old vases, then some calligraphy and paintings that were so big they were out of place.
Qu Zhi didn’t need to look to know he had been tricked again.
He had never seen Liang Wen being so sentimental, collecting calligraphy, paintings, and old objects. His bad friends probably heard he was going to move and came to extort money from him.
Qu Zhi held back her temper and picked up a ceramic vase with dust on it. “What’s this?”
Liang Wen was afraid she would drop the precious vase and carefully placed it on the table. “A friend got it. It’s a Qing Dynasty vase. Put it in my study room.”
“A friend gave it to you?” Qu Zhi didn’t even bat an eye. She knew the answer wasn’t a gift.
“We’re moving now, so they sold it to me at a 20% discount.” Liang Wen was very happy and felt he had picked up a bargain.
For the sake of her own health, Qu Zhi took a deep breath and pretended not to hear him.
Liang Wen was someone who could lower his intelligence unconditionally for the sake of his ‘friends’ and wouldn’t even know if he was swindled.
When she saw that they were moving, Chuchu was still a little reluctant, but her mother comforted her and said she could move back at any time. After all, this house was closer to the school and was very practical. She wouldn’t rent it out for the time being.
However, when they arrived at their new home, Chuchu immediately changed her mind. “This room is so comfortable!”
Chuchu’s room was covered with wallpaper and had a small window sill. In the morning, she could hear the chirping of birds outside.
Moreover, there were many trees here, just like what was written in ‘Annie of the Green Gable’. Chuchu felt like she was a little princess.
Aunt Hui also had her own room. It was on the first floor and had her own bathroom. In other words, she had her own privacy and could do whatever she wanted.
Qu Zhi had even installed a phone on the first floor so that it would be more convenient for Aunt Hui to make a call.
Sisi and Chuchu’s room was on the second floor, but Sisi didn’t need to use this small room at the moment. She still had to stick to Aunt Hui and Qu Zhi.
Liang Wen was busy moving his babies, big and small, into the study table, but the space on the study table was too small. A few pieces of calligraphy and paintings couldn’t fit in at all. However, the dust on it was quite heavy, causing Liang Wen to choke and sneeze non-stop.
Qu Zhi laughed at him. “You’ll have to help me buy a few more paintings. I don’t want the real ones. Even if they’re fake, they’ll look good.”
Liang Wen understood the meaning behind her words and pouted without saying anything.
He really didn’t have much confidence in this. At that time, Liang Wen only bought the painting because it looked old and nice. His friend lied to him and he didn’t know anything about it.
However, since he had already bought it, he wouldn’t fall for this trick next time. Liang Wen agreed to Qu Zhi’s request, but in reality, he was a little regretful.
In the small garden outside, Qu Zhi had specially built a small swing and a slide that could only be found in the park. At this time, the two rascals were already playing.
At first, Sisi didn’t dare to play. After carrying her and sliding a few times, Chuchu was now able to climb up the ladder with her little legs. She played like this again and again, even clapping her hands when she came down. She never got tired of it.
Qu Zhi sat in the garden, next to the small coffee table where she usually drank tea with Lin He and the others. As she watched the two children play and laugh, the satisfaction in her heart slowly rose like the steam in the teacup.
