179 Tea
Early in the morning, Qu Zhi went to the mall to buy two cans of milk powder. She carefully selected two cans of imported milk powder. Since she was young, Deng Dong had never stopped buying this brand of milk powder. Qu Zhi felt that the money she spent on milk powder was enough for her to become a shareholder of this milk powder company.
It was the weekend. Although the weather wasn’t very good and it was drizzling, Qu Zhi felt relaxed as she breathed in the cool air.
In her past life, they were best friends for life.
Although Deng Dong only came back during the new year in her past life, Qu Zhi’s mood would improve whenever she saw her. Her mood would be much better if she had someone to vent her grievances to. The night before Qu Zhi’s surgery, they still talked on the phone. Deng Dong even comforted her, “This is a small surgery. You can still be jumping around after it’s done.”
Qu Zhi laughed so hard that tears came out of her eyes. She was almost sixty years old, yet she was still jumping around.
Even though Deng Dong said so, she was still very worried. Even before Qu Zhi entered the operating room, they were still on the phone. “When are you going to do it? Will you be given a lot of anesthetic?”
This time, it was Qu Zhi’s turn to comfort Deng Dong. “It’s fine. It’s just a small operation. Just treat it as an ant bite.”
I haven’t seen her for a long time. What does Deng Dong look like now?
Was she still the little girl with two braids?
She had such a good life abroad, so her skin should still be very good at this age, right?
Qu Zhi thought about it and pressed the Deng family’s doorbell. The corners of her mouth were still upturned.
“Hello, is this Miss Qu?” She didn’t expect the nanny to open the door.
The housekeeper’s face was full of smiles, which looked rather unnatural, but Qu Zhi couldn’t tell what was unnatural about it.
“Mrs. Du and the baby are waiting for you in the bedroom.”
Qu Zhi responded and looked around. Their house was very big, and all the furniture was made of mahogany. It looked magnificent and Grand. However, the house was very quiet, as if no one was living there.
At this time, another nanny led her upstairs. “The baby has just been born. The cold wind is not good for the mother and the baby. Mrs. Du has been in the bedroom the whole time. We have been doing work outside.” The nanny was also smiling.
Just as he was about to reach the bedroom door, it opened from the inside.
“Qu Zhi, you’ve come.” A thin woman in a milky-white nightgown smiled weakly at her, and the dark circles under her eyes were almost falling to the ground. Indeed, she couldn’t go out. It seemed that if she did, a gust of wind would blow and she would fall down.
“You, Deng Dong, are you feeling uncomfortable?” her complexion was so bad that even Qu Zhi could not recognize her.
Deng Dong was as round and cute as a New Year’s doll in the past. Later on, she grew up. Although she was slimmer, her face was chubby and she was a very cute girl. Now, her cheeks were so thin that they were slightly sunken, and her figure was out of shape. There was nothing under her sleeping robe.
“Come, let’s go out and talk.” Deng Dong squinted his eyes and smiled. “I’m fine. I’ve checked and I’m very healthy.”
The nanny beside her stopped her from going to the living room. “It’s cold down there. Don’t run out of milk. Mrs. Du, you can talk on the second floor.”
Qu Zhi didn’t mind. “Anything is fine.”
Deng Dong held her forehead in pain. Without looking at the nanny, she turned to Qu Zhi and asked, “What do you want to drink?”
“I’ll drink flower tea.” Qu Zhi found a gift box in her bag. “This is for you. This tea factory that is cooperating with our company has the most authentic tea. It’s very good.”
Before Deng Dong could take it, the housekeeper took it. “Mrs. Du can’t drink strong tea.”
Deng Dong’s face darkened. “Put it here.”
The nanny smiled and said, “If you drink the tea, the tea will go into the baby’s mouth. It’s not good for the baby.”
“I don’t care if it’s good or not!” Deng Dong’s voice became louder. She wanted to throw everything on the table away, but Qu Zhi was still there, so she couldn’t scare her.
Deng Dong glanced at the nanny. “Go get some tea. I want some too.”
The housekeeper lowered her head and apologized to Qu Zhi. The smile on her face seemed to have been tattooed. “I’m sorry. Mrs. Du’s temper hasn’t been very good recently.”
As soon as she left, Deng Dong heaved a sigh of relief, and tears fell.
She wanted to say something to Qu Zhi, but she couldn’t open her mouth. She was too excited, happy, and in pain.
Qu Zhi touched her back and pulled her into her arms. “It’s okay, I’m here. You can slowly cry.”
After some time, the tea was served.
A cup of flower tea and a cup of warm milk.
