232 A Cold
Sisi was getting used to the nursery. Every day, she would be praised by the teacher and get a little red flower. At night, after school, she would get some snacks. She was very excited.
In the morning, she woke up even earlier than Aunt Hui. Sisi wouldn’t be idle either, so she used her chubby little hand to pat her Grandmother. “Sisi wants to go to school.”
Every time this happened, Aunt Hui would kiss her little face. “Our Sisi loves to study so much, she’ll definitely be the top student in the future. Let’s get up and go to school!”
Sisi now knew how to brush her teeth, so she moved a small stool and brushed her teeth with Aunt Hui. She didn’t want to be too serious. After brushing, she would breathe into the mirror and smell if there was any smell. Since Aunt Hui tied her hair into braids, she had to look at it many times.
Even Qu Zhi laughed at her. After a few days of school, she had become a little adult.
That day, Liang Wen didn’t go to work. He had originally said that he wanted to accompany Sisi to school, but it was rare for him to have a chance to sleep in in the morning, so he really didn’t want to get up.
Chuchu hadn’t been sleeping well at night recently, so Qu Zhi didn’t disturb her.
It was summer break, so they had to rest well. The primary schools in Jiang City were under more pressure. They seemed to be in a war when they went to school. It was indeed tough for children.
Qu Zhi gently removed the fairy tale book from Chuchu’s face and placed it on the table. Chuchu was still asleep, and her face was still red. It seemed like she had stayed up very late last night.
It was still raining outside, and the sky was dark. Sisi thought it was nighttime. “Sleep when it’s dark,” Sisi said in her childish voice. She saw that her mother was about to leave and kindly reminded her.
“It’s raining, Sisi.” Qu Zhi placed a bag of scallion-flavored biscuits and a bottle of warm milk in her small bag. “Let’s go to school.”
Sisi’s eyes lit up at the mention of school. “Sisi wants to go to school!”
It seemed that the experience classes these past few days had been really good. Even now, Qu Zhi could still remember how Chuchu was afraid of going to school when she was young. She would cry and make a fuss as if she wanted to flip the roof over.
How could Huang Qing dote on children, especially girls? She grabbed Chuchu’s arm and ran to school. However, Chuchu was too young then and couldn’t remember anything. Otherwise, this would have been another big shadow in her childhood.
There were many times when Liang Wen felt terrible and wanted to take his child away from school for a few days. However, he had to go to Jiang City to work, so he could only leave his child in the countryside.
This mess lasted until Chuchu was in primary school. Even when she was in first grade, Chuchu still had some resistance to going to school.
Not long after Sisi and the others left, the thunderstorm started.
Outside, there was lightning and thunder. The rain was pitter-pattering against the window, and Chuchu felt a chill all over her body.
She hadn’t even turned off the air conditioner for the past few days because she was hungry for the cold. Now, she wished she could turn on the heater.
She wrapped a small blanket around herself and ran out to look for the adults. However, Liang Wen was still sleeping, so she curled up in Liang Wen’s bed like a kitten.
Liang Wen took a deep breath. your foot is like ice.
There was a loud thunder outside as if it was going to crush the clouds.
Chuchu was so scared that she shrank into Liang Wen’s arms.
Liang Wen then realized it had been a long time since he hugged his daughter to sleep like this.
The current Chuchu had long arms and legs, and she had grown a lot taller. He felt very gratified.
Liang Wen reached out to cover Chuchu’s ears, but he didn’t expect to be scalded by her forehead and withdraw his hand.
Liang Wen quickly turned on the lights and Chuchu’s face was already red.
Liang Wen woke up immediately. He quickly took out his phone and called Qu Zhi, but Sisi was still learning how to sing. The speaker was turned on so loudly she couldn’t hear the vibration inside the bag.
Liang Wen was as anxious as an ant on a pan. He used his hand to lower Chuchu’s temperature. “Chuchu, are you feeling unwell? Hurry and tell Daddy.” She probably caught a cold because the air conditioner was turned on too much these few days.
Chuchu felt dizzy. She wanted to open her eyes, but she couldn’t. Her stomach was also churning. She was so anxious that tears fell. “I can’t open my eyes.”
“Don’t worry, I’ll take you to the hospital.” Liang Wen put on a coat and didn’t even have time to put on his socks. He wrapped Chuchu in a blanket and almost carried her out of the room.
The air outside was still a little cold, but Chuchu felt dizzy as if she was dreaming.
