“Impressive,” said Huo Run wholeheartedly.
Mo Ning chuckled and carried on dancing with her.
A moment later, Huo Run suddenly initiated, “Mo Ning, I think my parents like you a lot.”
“Really? Great.” Swaying slowly to the music, Mo Ning seemed to not notice the changes in Huo Run’s eyes with her head lowered, to a point where her cheeks were right before Huo Run’s ears, as she whispered, “Everyone said that it’s the hardest to please father as a son-in-law. No one likes their daughter being snatched away by some other man. Now it looks like I wouldn’t have this problem. What a joy.”
“You’re the son-in-law!” And there Huo Run realized she had actually made a confession akin to a proposal. She blushed, “I’m sorry. What were you saying?”
“Did I say anything?”
“You!” Huo Run turned her head away and nearly tripped herself again.
Mo Ning then slowed down further to get Huo Run back on track.
“Huo Run, I like whatever you like. Vice versa.”
“…” Huo Run stumbled upon the remark.
Vice versa? Does that mean whatever I don’t like, Mo Ning would not like them either?
The confusion was lifted from her eyes as replaced with a very sweet feeling wafting like butterflies in her tummy. It was a complicated feeling mixed with both relief and nervousness towards the unknown.
She lifted her head to look upon Mo Ning’s beautiful eyes, “It’s great to have known you.” Her lips moved in whispers.
There’s never someone who knows me so well while being able to fill that void to cover that wound for me immediately.
“Same,” said Mo Ning with a smile.
They both giggled at the same time yet with different thoughts.
Their dance obviously captured the attention of many. Upon each great move they performed, they received a generous roll of applause.
Lu Zhaoyang was rather impressed, “I must admit, Mo Ning looks like a perfect match to our daughter. If they ever wanted to get along, I would not go against them.”
She then gave a look at Huo Yunting whose eyes were so colorless that she got up from her seat a little and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Huo Yunting wanted to lift his lips but his phone started vibrating in his pocket.
He checked out the caller ID, “Huo Chen called me. Talk to you later.”
“Okay.”
Huo Yunting then left his seat and headed upstairs after giving the last serious look at Mo Ning. He also took a deep breath as if trying to relieve the accumulating agitation in him.
Lu Zhaoyang still enjoyed every move made by her daughter and the lovely new boyfriend she got. Her eyes were gentle. Too gentle. As if looking at her own children and that strange chemistry was perceived by Yan Sinian.
And the first song ended, as they both bowed to the thunderous applause by the audience.
Mo Ning led Huo Run out of the center and returned to Lu Zhaoyang.
“Have a seat,” invited Lu Zhaoyang as they sat next to Huo Junyu who only answered to their greeting with a glance before plunging himself back into the electronic reality on his phone. He got to get SSR for his favorite Shoujo character. He had been obsessed with farming more tickets from the Abyss dungeon for the past two hours. The boy did not even bother to smile at the passersby despite being the relative with the host.
Lu Zhaoyang beamed at Huo Run, “You’re the hostess today, honey. You have to be sociable and amiable. Even if you intend to get married now, you still need to learn how to be a decent wife.” She glanced at their holding hands.
“Mom!!” Huo Run immediately let go of Mo Ning, completely embarrassed before she scurried away.
“Hahaha…” She laughed softly as she remembered the night she brought this little baby girl in her blanket.
And now that baby crying in her embrace had become a gorgeous dancer with a partner—all grown up.
