The days passed by quickly. Soon, the past felt like a distant memory.

Unlike Wen He’s ceremonial rank of second lieutenant, the promotion ceremony for him was grander in scale.

Wen He noticed it and smiled back at him.

As was protocol, he started by expressing his gratitude and loyalty to the military.
When he was done, the audience applauded thunderously.
“Finally, I would like to thank someone.”
Huo Chen added abruptly, bringing the end of his speech to an unexpected turn.
He spoke solemnly, but his gaze was gentle and warm, in contrast to his cold profile.
“Without her, I would not be here today. She is more important to me than my life.”
The audience gasped in surprise.
