Chapter 119: You are sure bored

Lu’s breathing intensified! The doorknob was turned frantically.
You are the one who keeps thinking about nonsense all day!
“Let me go!”
“Alright, princess, time to get your meals so you’ll have the strength to define those ‘unspeakable’ things to me later…on bed.” Huo smiled.
Lu snorted as she swung the door open and rushed out of the place, with her furious steps echoing at the stairs. Huo was getting turned on, somehow a woman expressive at her anger like Lu was an attractive sight to him.
It was rare to see her being so enraged after all.
The second morning she ditched the president as she zoomed away right after gargling a glass of milk and passing the president a disdainful glance at the dining table. When she stormed into the Secretary’s Office, she walked past the gossiping girls and dropped her purse, only to hear about the latest scandal of Thunderbolt Corp. being let out of the bag.
She reached her ears out, it was indeed about the story of Thunderbolt Corp. submitting the same proposal as the other company for the Qingshan project. It was supposed to be sinking news yet someone seemed to have salvaged it.
Everyone in the city was rumoring that Thunderbolt Corp. was facing a board upheaval, a fall, a dismissive administration or being a snobbish shameless thief who finally ran out of money. Some even believed that The Emperor was the truthful owner of that proposal, while despising Thunderbolt Corp. for being a blatant copycat.
The news hurt, of course, as the stock of Thunderbolt Corp. slumped into the abyss.
When Lu hurried into the President’s Office with anxiety, “On n’a qu’à regarder certains hommes pour s’en défier, on les sent ténébreux à leurs deux extrémités…” The president was actually watching a French movie leisurely, with the audio played loud from the external speakers.
Huo Li had already carried out an inch-by-inch search at The Emperor. The investigation returned a false positive where the mastermind was nowhere to be found. The proposal still remained an apparently “coincidental” find by the brothers who managed the company.
The proposal had clearly been amended before it was sent to The Emperor. So, the culprit’s motive might not be about delivering a critical blow to Thunderbolt Corp.
It was more about a declaration of war…or maybe…
A prologue to a long, long plot behind the scene?
That would be interesting. Thunderbolt Corp. had been the acclaimed as invincible for the past three years. It was almost unbelievable that there was actually a challenger.
“How’s French to you?” Huo Initiated, with pen spinning in his hand, “Does it sound romantic to you? Las beauté?”
Lu made an eyeroll, “How would it sound romantic to me when I barely know what they’re saying?” She scattered the documents across the table, “You are sure bored, my president.”
“I might appear to be bored but I’m always occupied inside.” He positioned his fountain pen and signed each document swiftly.
“Thank you for your cooperation,” said Lu as she collected the documents, added, “Ms. Mo has called. She wants you to join her on a function tonight.”
“What function?” He tossed the pen, gawking at her with raised brows.
“The birthday dinner of the mayor.”
“The present?”
“All prepared.”
“Okay, you may leave now.”
A retreat order from the commander, Lu the trooper marched quickly away from the scene.
Before the sun started setting, Mo Shan had already arrived by the office, with a brief glance at Lu before hitting the President’s Office directly.
No one commented regarding her abrupt visits recently since she was recognized as the president’s one-and-only fiance.
Lu did not want to waste her only unobstructed moments of her day, as she concentrated working on her desk.
That was when a shadow blocked the fluorescent lighting from above.
She lifted her head and looked upon confusingly. It was Lin Yazhi, with her childlike smile.
“Yes?”
“Are you free after this?” Asked Lin.
“… is it the invitation to one of your fashion nights again?” Lu’s eyes turned dead, she seriously hoped she would be spared.
“Nope.” Lin inched towards her with her head lowered, “We are going for a treat and I’m paying the bill. Thank you for recruiting me.”
“It’s just part of my job. You don’t have to do this.” Lu kindly refused the offer.
“But we are colleagues, doesn’t that mean we are comrades at work, besties after work? C’mon, Yang, can’t you spare some time for me? It’s not just the both of us. I won’t bite. Do you think I will?”
Lu nodded her head reluctantly.
Lin winked joyfully, “It’s decided, we are spending the night together! Woohooo!”
Lu would appear too rude if she turned down the new collague’s plea…
Two hours later when Lu joined Lin at the informed venue, she finally understood what “not just the both of us” meant.
