Chapter 1506 Tomorrow You“ll Have To Begin Again 1While her mind went blank in that instant, Xi Xiaye watched as Qi Lei slowly walked past her. Even from far away, she could feel that sadness coming from him. The way Qi Lei looked in that instant made her heart break. She thought to herself that Mu Yuchen must have been like that too.
She took in quite a few deep breaths before she held back the sourness rising from her throat and turned to the man beside her.
Mu Yuchen’s calm gaze remained as deep as the sea. You could not see a hint of change from his handsome face, yet his hand that held her by the wrist tightened. She could feel him tensing up but she did not make a sound.
Moments after that, Mu Yuchen said that with a lowered voice, “Let’s go home. This place doesn’t need us anymore. I’ll give Li Si a call. Het him to help Yang Sheng with the funeral.”
While he announced that, he pulled Xi Xiaye back towards the car as he took out his phone and called Li Si’s number.
Li Si picked up the phone shortly.
“Master!”
“Inform Yang Sheng that Qi Feng has passed away and help out with the funeral,” Mu Yuchen said calmly.
“Qi Feng’s gone?” Li Si’s confused and disbelieving tone came from the other end. “Did the police shoot him dead? Is Second Master alright? Earlier, Yang Sheng called to say…”
When he saw that Xi Xiaye remained dazed, Mu Yuchen spoke gently, “He’s fine. Come over and help manage this,” Mu Yuchen responded, then kept away his phone and sighed to himself. After he pulled Xi Xiaye to walk over, he opened the car door to the front passenger seat for her, then said, “Alright, don’t think too much now. Get in. He’ll be fine. Right now, he needs peace and quiet the most.”
Xi Xiaye nodded silently and sat in too. Mu Yuchen then went to the driver’s seat and slowly started the car.
The car soon vanished into the silent and vast gray twilight.
“Do you think it’s a little cruel? I never thought of letting him go right from the start.”
When Xi Xiaye turned to look silently at the streetlights that lit up outside the car window, Mu Yuchen’s lowered voice suddenly broke the silence. Upon hearing that, she turned to look at him and sharply caught the faint dimness in his eyes. She thought about it, then suddenly shook her head.
“How could this be your fault? He’s done many terrible things. Today’s end is his karma. I’m just lamenting why can’t people just live life a little more simply? Why couldn’t we just let go and live more calmly? All of the grudges are caused by a dissatisfaction in the heart, including me in the past, and you in the past. Even Qi Lei of the past was like that. Yet, that is reality. This is life,” Xi Xiaye spoke softly as her lowered gaze fell silently on his hands that held the steering wheel steadily. She could not help but sound a little downcast as she said, “While this…is the true end…”
Mu Yuchen kept quiet, and just listened silently. The car was not too fast as he drove steadily.
When he did not say anything, she said, “Qi Lei cried…”
“Because now he is truly alone. To cry in front of others requires huge courage. If it weren’t for the fact that he couldn’t bear it any longer, he wouldn’t have,” Mu Yuchen seemed to resonate with Qi Lei as he explained to Xi Xiaye.
When Xi Xiaye heard that, she thought about it for a long time, then seemed to detect the message between Mu Yuchen’s lines.
Qi Feng had killed his mother, and then he had technically forced Qi Feng to his death. They should have been a loving family, but in the end…
It turned out that so-called kinship was only as such. If you cared, it would be very important to you. If you did not, then it would be nothing, and could even be a hindrance.
She thought about it for a long time before she suddenly understood that for someone as pure as Qi Lei, he would definitley be heartbroken right now. There was the release of resolving past grudges, but there was also…
A while after, Xi Xiaye suddenly called out to him, “Mu Yuchen…”
“Mmm?” Mu Yuchen responded softly.
Xi Xiaye did not say anything in the end and just called out his name.
…
The day after Qi Feng passed away, Gu Lingsha received the news in detention.
When she received the news, she was very calm. Then, the next morning after the prison guard told her about the news, he found her cold body in the lock-up. She had ended her life with stockings.
When the police called to inform Qi Lei, it was Yang Sheng who picked up.
Actually, Qi Lei did not think it was out of the ordinary since he knew this was how Gu Lingsha was like.
She could not have suffered through all of this alone. Losing Qi Feng meant losing everything she relied on, thus she had no courage to keep going. She was quite similar to Doris in that way.
…
On a quiet afternoon in City B, before the Gu residence’s broad gate.
When Gu Qiwu saw Qi Weier, the call from City Z had come, informing him of Qi Feng’s passing and Gu Lingsha’s sacrifice for love. He almost fainted. Thankfully, Ah Mo, who was behind him, held him in time.
As he looked at the lonely Qi Weier, his slightly aged eyes reddened. He reached out to her with trembling arms, and she looked timidly at him, not going to him after a long while.
Mu Lingshi’s belly was really huge now, so it was a little hard for her to walk. She had found out about everything from Ah Mo, and watching Qi Weier right now, she felt sad for her.
Such a young child should not have to be burdened with all these.
“Boss Gu, this is the letter Miss Lingsha left for you. She hopes that you can finish reading it and that you could take care of Miss Weiwei since she has no kin left, and also…”
Actually, what Mu Lingshi had said before did shake Gu Qiwu. He wanted to go see Gu Lingsha one last time. She was his daughter after all, but in the end, he did not make it in time. Everything had happened so suddenly.
Gu Qiwu took the letter from Mary. He opened it to read, but there were only a few lines of words and a cheque with a large sum.
Father, I’m sorry! I was wrong. If anything happens to me, please help me take care of Weiwei. Tell Mu Lingshi that I don’t actually hate having her as a sister. It’s just that fate was too harsh to us.
As Gu Qiwu read this, he could not help but start crying…
The letter in his hand fell to the ground. Ah Mo picked it up. After he took a look, he looked at Mu Lingshi with a complicated gaze.
