Huh? Did he really come to his sense in just one night? Isn’t that a little too soon? What is Annie
playing at this time?
“Annie and I are currently on Summerbank Island in Salinsburgh. Come here in two days, and I will
personally hand her over to you. I do hope you won’t be too harsh on her, Ms. Harris,” Paul continued.
“What I do with her is not your concern, Mr. Hall. Are you going to have me head over to Summerbank
Island on my own as well?”
“No, you may bring your bodyguards with you. I just hope you won’t bring Mr. Jenson along, I don’t
wish to involve the military in this.”
Gwendolyn did not agree to that request either.
“Why are you so afraid of the military, Mr. Hall? Did you do something bad in Chanaea? Are you afraid
that an investigation would ruin your reputation as a member of nobility in Ospea?”
Paul let out a huge sigh. “You said bringing Annie home is a part of your family’s affairs. In that case, I
hope you will handle it behind closed doors. Things are going to change drastically if Mr. Jenson gets
involved.”
Gwendolyn couldn’t care less about his preferences as she was the one who held the power.
“Cedrick is my husband, and I have never been to Summerbank Island, so he won’t be able to rest
easy unless he comes with me. While it is pretty much certain that he would tag along. I have the
power to control what he does. As long as Annic doesn’t try anything funny, we will resolve this
privately at the Harris residence.”
“Ms. Harris…”
Not wanting to waste any more time arguing with him on this, Gwendolyn said, “If you’re going to make
so many demands of me, then I won’t head over and meet you. You two can never leave Chanaea as
long as I’m around, so it’s only a matter of time before I find Annie on my own. When I do, things are
going to be a lot harsher for her.”
She then hung up the phone immediately after, leaving Paul and Annie to think carefully about what
she said.
I’ll have to meet up with them on Summerbank Island two days later and resolve this issue once and for
all!
She was snapped out of her train of thought when Cedrick hugged her from behind and rested his chin
on her shoulder.
She turned toward him and asked with a gentle smile, “You’re awake, Hubby? Did you sleep well?”
“As long as you’re here with me, I could be sleeping under a bridge and still have a good night’s sleep!”
Cedrick replied.
Gwendolyn let out a snicker. “There’s no way I’d ever sleep under a bridge with you! Even if we are
able to handle it, our babies can’t!”
Cedrick nodded. “You’re right, Gwenny,”
He then took a whiff of her fragrant scent before continuing lazily, “I heard you talking to Paul on the
phone earlier. Do you need me to bring an army along two days later?”
