She Belongs To Him
Treyton felt a little guilty. In truth, he had tried calling Gwendolyn several times recently, but her phone
was always switched off.
Because of this, Asher had gone to check up on her. In any case, I can’t tell Cedrick the truth since he’s
about to undergo surgery. All I can do right note is to make up some stories and do my best to reassure
him.
With that thought in mind, he said, “Kiddo’s fine. In fact, she just messaged me the day before, so focus
on your surgery and don’t worry about anything else. At any rate, we should deal with Yael and Craig
first. Im sure Kiddo will be all right.”
Cedrick did not loosen his hold on the other man’s arm and asked, “Gwenny sent you a message?
What did she say?”
“Uh…” Treyton paused for a moment and replied, “She said that everything is fine on her end and
asked us not to worry about her. She also expressed concern about your health… Anyway, you can
read the message she sent yourself once your vision recovers, okay?”
In response, Cedrick fell silent and furrowed his brows.
The restlessness and uneasiness he was feeling did not dissipate in the slightest.
Taking advantage of the man’s momentary lapse of attention, Treyton pulled away and allowed the
nurses to push Cedrick in.
Once the latter was inside, he sat and waited in the corridor.
Raising his head, Treyton trained his gaze at the red light of the operating room, all while thoughts
about Gwendolyn swirled within his mind.
It has been seven days… Kiddo said that she would be back with the Super Antiviral within two weeks
at the latest. Please be fine, Kiddo!
With Kieran personally performing the surgery, everything went smoothly, and the procedure was over
in a little over three hours.
Still under the effects of anesthesia, Cedrick was soon wheeled into the observation ward.
Treyton followed along, staying by Cedrick’s side for the entire day as he remained unconscious.
During that time, Jennifer came by twice to bring them meals.
Sensing that something was wrong, Treyton called for Kieran and asked, “Kieran, I don’t think it’s
normal for a regular person to be unconscious for this long after anesthesia, right?”
Wearing a mask, Kieran continued to record Cedrick’s monitoring data while casually responding,
“You’re talking about a normal person here. Cedrick has a virus in his body. Can he really be
considered a normal person?”
Treyton fell silent at those words.
A moment later, he glanced at the bed where Cedrick lay unconscious and replied in a low voice,
“Kieran, why do I have the feeling that you’re actually mocking him?”
Kieran didn’t reply to his brother and simply left the room once he was done recording the data.

Treyton shook his head helplessly, silently sympathizing with his future brother-in-law

Although Asher may appear to have a fiery temper and seems like a difficult man to deal with, he’s
actually quite eary to talk to. On the other hand, Kieran is reserved and seemingly indifferent to
everything, but he’s quick to hold grudges and can be quite cunning If Cedrick does end up marrying
Kiddo in the future, I bet he’ll find Kieran to be the most challenging obstacle for him to deal with.
Two days later, in Erihal, Charles sent his men to come over in the afternoon to deliver ten exquisite
high- end evening gowns for Gwendolyn to choose from.
It didn’t take long for her to fall in love with a light green flowy dress that came paired with a snowy
white fur shawl, giving the whole ensemble a touch of an enchanted forest fairy vibe.
As Nico stood in the living room waiting for Gwendolyn, he soon found himself mesmerized when he
saw the woman coming down the stairs, dressed in her gown and with her makeup done. His eyes
widened. and for a moment, he even forgot to breathe.
He immediately lowered his head in an attempt to regain his composure.
Ms. Harris belongs to the boss! She can only be together with him! No matter how beautiful she is, I
must resist her
charm!
Gwendolyn noticed that he had only glanced at her briefly before averting his gaze, so she looked
down to inspect her attire before asking, “What’s wrong? Is my gown ugly?”
“No… it’s very pretty.” Nico’s ears turned slightly red, and as he regained his composure, he quickly
noticed the color of the gown. He whispered, “That being said, isn’t this color a bit too much?”
I doubt any man in this world would appreciate the color green. After all, it’s a color that’s associated
with adultery. If Charles were to discover the truth and see this outfit, wouldn’t he feel like she’s
intentionally provoking him?
“I don’t really care whether he likes it or not. All that matters is that I like it. Besides, I’ve never believed
in those claims about the color green being a symbol of infidelity. Humans are the ones who came up
with such superstitions in the first place, anyway.”
Knock, knock.
Just when she was done saying her piece, someone knocked on the door.
Putting on his ugly disguise, Nico reluctantly went to open the door.
Leaning against the doorframe with a bouquet of white roses in his hand, Charles was taking in the
fragrance of the flowers in a rather elegant pose.
“Gwen, are you ready?” he asked before presenting the roses, his deep blue eyes lifting slightly.
However, his enthusiasm vanished when his gaze landed on Nico’s ugly face.
“How come it’s you?” He narrowed his eyes in a sinister manner, not wanting to spare another glance
at
the man.
Taking note of his reaction, Nico stifled a laugh and said, “Mr. Lund, Ms. Harris is ready. We can leave
now.”
With that, he took a big step to the side, getting out of sight.
The moment he did so, Gwendolyn’s breathtakingly beautiful face immediately caught Charles’
attention.

Coupled with the fact that Nico was the first person he saw first, Gwendolyn’s already exquisite
features now appeared downright ethereal.
Charles eyes glimmered with infatuation and delight as he gazed at her. “Gwen, your beauty is truly out
of this world. Every frown and smile of yours captivates my heart.”
Gwendolyn furrowed her brows slightly, not liking the way he was staring at her so intensely, nor the
way he was spewing corny romantic words.
She lowered her gaze and with a deadpan expression, she uttered, “We shouldn’t delay any longer.
Let’s go.”
She bypassed Charles, brushing past him, when her vision was suddenly filled with the exquisite white
roses in his hand.
Charles handed the white roses to her. “White roses are a symbol of elegance, which means they’re a
perfect match for you, Gwen.”
Gwendolyn cocked her head to look at him.
Naturally, she understood the meaning behind his words. If it were any other day, she would have
made a sarcastic remark, asking him what would a b*stard like him know about the definition of a
perfect match.
However, since she had many important matters to attend to that day, she couldn’t afford to provoke
Charles just yet.
With that thought in mind, she accepted the bouquet of roses from him and walked toward the car
without looking back, her expression remaining as cold as ever.
Meanwhile, Charles, who had prepared himself to be ridiculed, was surprised to see that Gwendolyn
accepted his gift without saying a word.
Delight washed over him. He turned to look at Nico, who was standing motionless by the door, and
asked, “Since Ms. Harris has accepted my flowers, does that mean she’s starting to accept me?”
Nico lowered his head even further. “I can’t possibly guess what’s on Ms. Harris’ mind.”
Charles gave a hearty chuckle in response, seemingly having his own assumptions of the situation,
and quickly caught up with Gwendolyn.
As for Nico, he trailed behind them silently.
Not long after, they arrived at the entrance of the palace.
The last time they were here, Charles had brought her in through the eastern gate.
This time, however, the main gate of the palace was open due to the banquet. Men and women who
were dressed elegantly could be seen chatting leisurely as they slowly made their way into the place.
The parking lot was filled with various luxury cars, and everyone who came was influential tycoons and
dukes of Erihal.
“There will be a lot of people during the banquet, so make sure to stay close to me lest you get Charles
reminded Gwendolyn in a low voice.
lost,”
Although Gwendolyn was nodding, she was quietly scanning the crowd, searching for Gerhardt

Rotundum.
To her surprise, instead of spotting Gerhardt, it was his son, Caesar Rotundum, who approached her
first and struck up a conversation.
“Ms. Harris, you look exceptionally beautiful tonight. This light green dress of yours is truly the most
unique and stunning piece I’ve ever seen!”
Gwendolyn couldn’t help but chuckle.
He must be joking. Among the women present, all the noblewomen are married, while the young ladies
are all hoping to catch the eye of a duke or a young tycoon during the banquet. Nobody in their right
mind would choose to wear a green dress that doesn’t please anyone.
When Charles saw that Gwendolyn was laughing, he was shocked.
I have never seen her smile at me ever since we separated seven years ago, and yet, here she is,
beaming at another man’s casual remark.
Displeased, he said, “Caesar, are you trying to undermine me by approaching my companion? it seems
like you don’t hold me in high regard, huh?”
