Linda&aposs Anxiety
Rachel wanted to throw up from watching the scene before her. A scoff escaped her lips.
"Be good. I'm going to go now. I love you."
Those were Elisa's father's last words.
Elisa felt a crushing sensation in her heart but did not want to express her vulnerability.
Rose waited for Elisa to say something, but all she was met with was silence. She decided to comfort
her again, "Elisa, I know it's hard, but he's gone now. You…"
Elisa suddenly raised her head and met her gaze with cold eyes. Rose felt a chill run down her spine,
and she forgot what she was about to say. Rose could feel the murderous intent in Elisa's piercing
gaze. She feared she would be dead the next second.
Very quickly, Norman and his family did not know how to proceed.
"He's gone?" Elisa sneered at them while glaring at them.
I said the wrong thing. Rose balked.
There was a slight change on Norman's face. He opened his mouth to say something, but Elisa was
quicker. Her piercing voice rang in their ears.
"You killed him, yet you try to show sympathy? Are you condoling me?" Elisa's words were full of
sarcasm and sounded frightful to Norman and his family. It was as if they could feel tendrils of her
murderous intent tightening their grip around their organs. It chilled them to the bone.
Elisa… had changed. She used to be warm and cheerful and smiled all the time. Now, her smiles held
knives within them. The temperature in the house seemed to drop from the chill she was radiating.
The look in Vincent's eyes was indescribable. He could feel the same satanic energy that radiated off
Gareth from her.
No wonder they used to be married. Even when divorced, they have the same habits. What rarity.
Vincent decided to mind his own business and continued his meal.
However, he was the only one who could consume any food.
Rachel glared at him, but Vincent was too busy minding his business to see her. He was unbothered by
his surroundings.
Rachel regained her senses. She had wanted to stay quiet and avoid Elisa's wrath, but she knew
things would get worse if she did nothing. She inhaled sharply and spoke quietly to Elisa, "Elisa, I think
there's been a misunderstanding. Nothing like what you said happened. We only allowed you to do this
because we wanted you to know what happened in the past. We hoped you could mourn your father
and move on. Elisa, you've got to believe us. We didn't want to give it to you because you were too
deep in grief…"
Elisa scoffed at that but remained quiet. She turned to Vincent, but when she saw he was almost done
with his meal, she stood up without regard for Norman and his family.
"Elisa, where are you going?" Norman asked hurriedly.
Rachel and Charli followed Elisa's actions. They knew Elisa wasn't going to the bathroom but was
planning on… leaving.
Elisa did not reply to Norman and walked out of the room.
Linda grew even more anxious!
