1377 The Seed of the Tree of Light! (4)
“You came with hostile intent,” said the young lady after hesitating for a moment.
“Really? How did you reach that conclusion? Aren’t you the one with sinister motives?” Wang Teng asked calmly.
“I wouldn’t hurt the innocent,” the young lady said.
“Then why were you using an illusion to attack me?” Wang Teng asked.
!!
The young lady’s expression froze. “I didn’t…”
“You can’t fool my eyes, old lady,” Wang Teng interrupted.
“Old… old lady!” The young lady’s face turned green, as if not giving credit to what she heard.
“Isn’t this so? You’ve been around for who-knows how many years. Calling you lady is me being courteous,” Wang Teng replied.
“Pant…” The young woman’s chest heaved up and down. Finally, she couldn’t help but shout, “You’re the old one. Your whole family is old!”
Wang Teng pointed at her with the tip of his sword. The other stopped as if strangled.
“Carry on,” Wang Teng urged.
“Erm, I think we can sit down and chat properly,” the young lady said awkwardly.
“There’s nothing to discuss. Give me what you have and I can spare your life,” Wang Teng said.
“You…” The young lady was in distress. “You know I have that thing? How do you know? Wait, you didn’t come for me. You want that thing.”
How could I know what you have? Wang Teng wondered. However, he remained expressionless and continued, “You have three seconds to consider. I’ll take action if you don’t give it to me.
“One!
“Two!
“Three…”
The young lady’s expression changed a few times, but she still gritted her teeth and refused in the end. “I won’t let you have it!”
The next instant, her eyes turned golden and endless beams of light were shot from them. They turned into a terrifying attack.
“Huh?” Wang Teng frowned when he sensed the frightening killing intent imbued in the rays.
He suddenly remembered the Solar Dragon Eye. It was great for dealing with this kind of move.
Black light glowed in Wang Teng’s eyes, dark enough to devour all light.
It only took a split second—the light released by the young lady was absorbed, and the space around them turned dark.
The young lady panicked and shouted, “What is going on?”
All light disappeared in the small area they were located. She felt submerged in an abyss. She couldn’t see anything.
The skill she used was a light force battle technique; extremely powerful, as fast as the speed of light. Even cosmos-stage warriors could get hit if caught off guards.
But, the problem was, her attack disappeared.
Everything was dark. No matter how hard she tried, it was useless; no light appeared.
She was confused. What the hell is going on?
She felt a great sense of danger at the moment, causing her spiritual body to shudder. A chill went up her spine.
“Ah!”
The next moment, she felt an excruciating pain, like needles pricking her. She screamed in pain uncontrollably.
A few seconds passed. The darkness dispersed and the young lady was still floating there. However, she was extremely weak; her body wasn’t as solid as before.
Wang Teng crossed his arms and looked at her indifferently.
“You!” Only fear was left in her eyes as she stared at the human.
“Give it to me,” Wang Teng ordered fiercely.
The young lady was unwilling, but she didn’t have the courage to disobey. His cold-blooded expression made her clench her teeth. A thumb-sized object emitting a golden glow floated out of her body.
Wang Teng raised his hand and allowed the object to land on his palm. He looked at it closely and was stunned by what he found.
This looks like a… seed?
There was a strange light force within.
Asking when in doubt was a good habit. Wang Teng instantly did so.
“What is this?”
“The seed of the Tree of Light.” The young lady hesitated but still replied in the end. She didn’t dare to meet Wang Teng’s indifferent gaze.
