1348 Time Freeze, Save Them! (4)
The explosions continued for some time before gradually dying down. The universe turned dead silent again.
But, amid the dead silence, an abrupt laughter was heard.
“Hahaha…”
“Emperor Bare Brain… is still alive!” Wang Teng squinted as he stared at the battlezone.
!!
A miserable-looking figure appeared. It was Bare Brain.
He survived!
He was seriously injured, however. The scales on his body cracked, and one of his dragon claws was broken; fresh blood oozed out. One of his horns was gone, too.
“Hahaha. Do you think you can kill me by detonating your domain? Stupid.” Devil Emperor Bare Brain gloated.
“Cough!” Another figure appeared, covered in wounds and coughing blood.
“General Cameron.” Wang Teng was elated. He was alive. He blew up his domain and lived to tell the tale.
“I told you that universe warriors don’t die that easily,” Bai Shanhou said calmly.
Wang Teng wanted to roll his eyes.
The powerful human expert kept a calm facade, but there was a slight disturbance in his eyes when the general detonated his domain. He wasn’t entirely indifferent.
So self-conscious!
“You’re not dead!” Bare Brain looked at his rival as if he were seeing a ghost. He thought that the latter was a goner, but he survived. The spurt of happiness disappeared, and switched to exasperation.
It was like knowing your opponent filed for bankruptcy, only to see him hanging around you and living his life happily. How could he smile?
“A pity I didn’t kill you.” General Cameron was filled with regret.
“Hmph, you don’t have the right to kill me.” Bare Brain snorted and stared coldly. “Since you’re still moving, I’ll be claiming your life now. You’re nothing more than a paper tiger now.”
“Die!”
Immense killing intent was shooting out from his eyes as he instantly disappeared and reappeared in front of General Cameron. He slammed his mace down.
Am I going to die here? General Cameron looked up at the giant weapon about to reach him. He no longer had the energy to resist. There was no fear in his eyes, only regret.
Being a martial warrior and a high ranking official, he knew he was fated to die on the battlefield. However, he wished he could have killed the dark apparition first.
“Die!” Bare Brain sneered as the mace continued downward.
Finally, he would kill that human personally.
He didn’t notice that time had stopped for a split second.
The mere split of a second!
Boom!
Then, General Cameron received the hit. However, the hideous smile on the creature’s visage froze. He then stared coldly in a certain direction.
Two figures gradually appeared in the distance: Wang Teng and General Cameron.
The former took action at the crucial moment, using his space and time talent. He took the chance to save the general when the time was stagnant.
This was his first time!
It was the first time ever using this talent.
The effects were surprisingly good. The feeling of stealing time made his heart skip a beat. It felt unreal, dreamlike.
Right then, both his Soul Origin and his Time Origin dropped by a thousand points.
It was quite expensive!
Wang Teng was at first expecting for Bai Shanhou to make a move. Being a mere celestial stage warrior, it would be somehow far fetched to think he would be the one saving the general.
However, Bai Shanhou showed no signs of acting; not even at the last moment. He found it unbelievable.
General Cameron was a bigwig of the military and a universe stage martial warrior. Was he really going to watch him getting killed?
Our hero didn’t understand but he couldn’t do anything about it, either. He had to act.
General Cameron had taken care of him, so he couldn’t just let him die in front of him.
“Wang Teng!”
General Cameron finally regained his composure. He was shocked with disbelief.
He thought he had croaked, but the young man saved him at the last instant.
That’s a high-tier devil emperor. How did Wang Teng do it?
The general didn’t even know how it happened.
On the other side—Bai Shanhou looked at Wang Teng in confusion, as he wasn’t able to see the move.
