Mirror Soul Chapter 5 Friendship turns into Romance

7 am in the morning, Kenda just woke up. It was Kendras off day. She prepared hot water with a sliced
lemon for herself and stayed in front of the gate. There was a long bench and a table. Kendra sat there.
She was reading newspaper while sipping hot water with a sliced lemon.

She turned her face in front of the gate and surprised.

There was a man standing in front of the gate. Kendra recognized it easily.

"Larry, what are you doing here?" Kendra asked.

"I am here to see you."Larry said.

" To see me..for what?" Kendra wondered.

" I am staying near here. We are neighbors, remember?" Larry said.

" Oh, yes! I remembered we are neighbors. Come inside."Kendra said.

Kendra and Larry had both a good conversation. Kendra did not even notice that Larry fancy her.
Kendra never thought of any kind of relationship with her students or anyone related to her workplace.

"Come on Larry, we are friends here outside of the language center but inside of the language center
you are my student so dont be shy. Be yourself because I am not gonna eat you."Kendra teased and
laughed.

"What are you gonna do today?Aren't you going to the center?" Larry asked.

"Nope.. Its my off day. It is better yet to enjoy it so I am planning to go somewhere later
afternoon."Kendra said.

" Nice, because its my off day too." Can I go with you?" Larry asked.



" No, You cant."Kendra said.

"Why not?," Larry asked

"Maybe you have more important things to do then than coming with me. Dont you have friends in this
country?"Kendra said and asked.

"No, I am here studying alone in this country. I am here to review for my entrance exam for a college in
Australia that I am gonna take next year ."Larry said.

"That's the reason then why you are here in this country."Kendra said.

" Yes..it is. I am more likely to study in Australia than having college in my country and take military
service." Larry said.

"Which country are you from again?"Kendra said.

"Korea..." Larry said.

" I see..you look not korean but a japanese...Hahaha." Kendra said.

Both were laughing...

"You are gonna be my first friend in this country other than my teacher...Can i go then with you
later?"Larry asked.

"Okay...We are going to the park and take some photos there. Its gonna have fun.I suggest you bring
your camera too." Kendra said.

" Is that your hobby?" Larry said.

"Kinda so see you then later. Better meet here at the front gate,okay?.."Kendra said.



"Okay then see you later." Larry smiled and said.

Days, and months went by. Kendra and Larry became so close. They became good buddies. At late
afternoon, Kendra and her brothers went out to go to the basketball court of their village.

"I will teach you how to play basketball Kendra."Her eldest brother said.

" Never mind brother. I will watch you then while playing."Kendra said.

After 2 hours playing basketball,

"It is getting darker now. I am going home now."Kendras eldest brother said.

"See you then at home brother!" Kendra said.

There was a sound of ball dribbling on the floor then Kendra was surprised.

"Larry,?Is that you?How long you have been here?I did not see you here around."Kendra said.

"Yes, because you were focused on the other guy."Larry said.

"Oh..you mean my brother?"Kendra said.

"Your brother?"Larry wondered.

"Yes, I was talking about my brother. He was here with me.You know he loves basketball alot."Kendra
said.

"How about you?You are not?" Larry said.

" I can play a little but not really my favorite. Actually, I can shoot the ball at this 3 point line."Kendra
said.



"Oh yeah, Lets see...here is the ball." Larry said.

Kendra dribbled the ball and shot it.

" I did it! Yehey...Here is the ball. Catch it" Kendra said.

Larry was drunk and lost himself balance. He got hit on his stomach by the ball.

" Ouuchhh". Larry sounded.

"Are you alright? I am sorry.."Kendra said

" Dont say sorry..I like you Kendra."Larry said.

"What i cant hear you?Are you drunk?" Kendra asked.

"I said I want you." Larry said.

"Really? i have to go home now."Kendra said.

Kendra left Larry at the country but Larry followed her.

"I am serious. I said I want you. Can we go out tomorrow?" Larry said.

"Okay, then asked permission to my dad." Kendra said.

"Why dont you instead of me?"Larry asked.

"Okay then bye."Kendra said.

Larry still followed him up to Kendra's house.



" What is the time now?"Kendra's father asked.

"Oh, Dad this is larry. He wants to say something."Kendra said.

Larry could not do anything just to ask permission to Kendra's father to go out tomorrow.

" Can i ask your daughter to go out tomorrow?" Larry said.

"Where are you guys going tomorrow?Kendra's father asked.

"I wanted to invite your daughter for a lunch at the mall near here.Is it okay sir?"Larry said.

"Just be sure to go home early and bring her home safely,okay?" Kendra's father said.

"Yes, sure sir. Thank you." Larry said.

The next day, their first serious date together happened. Larry fetched Kendra.

" Shall we? After you" Larry excitedly said.

Kendra went inside the cab together with larry. They were both red in the face and held each others
hand. Kendra felt

something as she could not feel from her first boyfriend Daniel.

"What is this feeling? Oh..Love can be developed through days together as we started friends before
then now we are in realtionship. Building a strong foundation all started as good frienship? Is this true
love?." Kendra wondered asking herself.
