Chapter 1297: Grandfather and Grandmother
Although her words were filled with dislike, the expression on her face was extremely tender.
“I love how you smell.” Wu Lingyu didn’t find it shameful at all.
“If your subordinates found out about this, the reputation that you’ve spent hundreds of thousands of years building up would be shattered in an instant. Hey, the reputation you’ve just built up will also burst into flames.”
Sima You Yue teased him as she stretched forth a hand to flick at his forehead.
Wu Lingyu sat straight and held on to her hand. In a moment, he had pulled her into his embrace.
Sima You Yue conveniently saw across his legs and leaned back, resting on him. As he wrapped his arms around her, she rested her head on his shoulder.
“You You.”
“Hmm?” Sima You Yue waited for a moment. When she saw that he didn’t continue, she lifted her head and looked at him, “What’s up?”
“Nothing.”
“That’s unlike you.” Sima You Yue played with his fingers, “Are you worried about my grandparents or worried about going to ghost city later on?”
“If possible, I really wish that you didn’t have to go to Ghost City. It’s too dangerous there.” Wu Lingyu said, “But I know as well that it’s impossible to stop you from going now.”
Sima You Yue turned around and placed both hands on his shoulders, saying, “No matter what I wanted to do in the past, you were not as worried as you are now. What’s up this time?”
“Ghost city. It’s not a place that humans can casually roam.” Wu Lingyu said, “I have a feeling that I will enter a deep sleep again and lose all my energy. If you are there, what if I cannot protect you?”
However, Sima You Yue’s attention was no longer on it. She immediately grabbed onto his hand and examined it, asking, “Were you unconscious that time because of the wonderlands?”
Wu Lingyu took two seconds too long and she astutely noticed his eyes and said, “You even fainted in the middle?!”
Wu Lingyu pulled his hands away and said, “Don’t worry. It was only once or twice.”
“It’s not right.” Sima You Yue grabbed onto his hand again, examining it closely.
“When did I ever lie to you? It really was only once or twice.” Wu Lingyu looked at her as if he was shocked and laughed in reply.
“I’m not saying that that’s not right.” Sima You Yue said, “According to reason, after going into a deep sleep, your soul should fuse even more. But why does it seem like your soul is even weaker than the last time I took your pulse?”
“It’s just a little bit weaker. You even realised this. Your medicinal skills are too powerful.” Wu Lingyu said.
Sima You Yue used both hands to squish his face, not letting him move around. With a solemn expression, she said, “Don’t mess with me. Tell me. When did this start?”
“Two years after I went to the devil realm.” Wu Lingyu replied honestly.
“What happened when you went to the devil realm?”
“Nothing much, actually. Just a little killing, fighting and recruiting, stuff like that.”
“You hurt your soul back then.” Sima You Yue said, “Or are you saying that your soul caused you to be injured, which in turn hurt your soul again.”
The more she spoke, the more agitated she became. The hand that grabbed onto him trembled, and her eyes filled with self-criticism.
Wu Lingyu wrapped a hand around her waist and with his other hand, caressed her face gently, saying, “It’s no problem. Don’t blame yourself. I’m fine.”
“If it were not because you took the initiative to break off the contract with me, how could you…” Sima You Yue’s eyes turned red.
“If I had let you get injured back then, I would have hated myself for a lifetime.” Wu Lingyu said, “In any case, to let a woman hurt herself for a man’s sake is something no man should do.”
However, this was completely useless to her. Apart from being self deprecating, she tried to remember if she had ever encountered something similar when she had studied the medicine books before.
With the hand that was wrapped around her waist, Wu Lingyu pulled on her and brought her attention back to him. He seized her lips and bit down lightly, like a punishment for her disobedience.
However, the moment he got close to her lips, he couldn’t control himself. He wanted to plunder them even more. Only by allowing himself to go deeper and deeper did he manage to placate himself temporarily.
“Mmfph… someone’s coming….” Sima You Yue could sense someone heading towards their courtyard and lightly tapped his shoulder.
Wu Lingyu left her lips. As they parted, an ambiguous thread remained.
“I really want to punish you!”
He lowered his head to rest on her forehead, his voice husky because it was lowered.
Sima You Yue slapped his shoulder and got up from him, saying, “Alright, someone is really coming.”
Wu Lingyu grabbed onto her hand, allowing her to sit back down on her seat. The tea on the table had already cooled down as well.
Sima You Yue waved her hand and the tea set completely disappeared as a new one immediately took its place.
Just as she was boiling water, Sima Zhi Yuan brought in an unfamiliar male and female. The moment they saw Sima You Yue, the both of them walked even faster.
“It seems that your grandfather and grandmother are coming over. Do you want me to hide?” Wu Lingyu asked.
“No need. In any case, you have to meet them too.” Sima You Yue said.
“Clan Leader, is this Xuan’er’s child?” The lady stopped in front of Sima You Yue and looked at her emotionally. She seemed at a loss and said, “Child, I am your grandmother.”
“Grand- grandmother…” Sima You Yue subconsciously glanced at Sima Zhi Yuan. Seeing that he didn’t deny it, she knew that they really were her grandparents.
“You Yue, my child.” Huang Ying Ying stepped forward and wrapped Sima You Yue in a hug. It was a long while before she released her. She touched her face and her lips quivered, “Although you are very similar to your mother, you bear resemblance to your father as well.”
Sima You Yue was immediately moved by the warmth in her eyes. Most of the people by her side were male, and although she had her Third Aunt Yi and the others, they were not her real blood family. Now that she saw Huang Ying Ying, it was truly different.
“You Yue, this is your grandfather.” Huang Ying Ying pulled over a Sima Xiu Qi, who hadn’t opened his mouth a single time since he entered, and introduced them.
Sima You Yue looked at Sima Xiu Qi. He was her real grandfather, and he really was another attractive person. She had never met her parents and didn’t know what they looked like, but he did look rather similar to Sima Zhi Yuan.
However, he was a lot more solemn than her great grandfather. There wasn’t a big smile on his face. If not for the rare joy clear in his eyes, she would have wondered whether or not he was upset with her.
“Grandfather.” She called out.
“Don’t put on such a long face. You’ll scare You Yue.”
The only one who dared to criticise Sima Xiu Qi was only his own father. He noticed that Sima You Yue did look a bit scared, so his expression warmed up and he smiled a little, saying, “It’s good that you’re back.”
He really did speak like a superior!
Sima You Yue pulled Wu Lingyu over, “Grandfather, Grandmother. Let me introduce you. This is my senior, Wu LIngyu, the holy son of the Sage Pavilion. Also my boyfriend.”
Sima Xiu Qi’s initially calm expression lit up with rage when he heard the last part of her sentence. He glared at Wu Lingyu and repeated slowly, “Boyfriend?”
