Chapter 446: Grand Master Sima

After being confused for a few minutes, Innkeeper Chou managed to understand what Sima You Yue had said, and started to raise the returns for the last two betting outcomes, attracting the attention of hundreds of people.
“That’s not enough, not enough!” Innkeeper Chou looked bitterly at the betting book, sighing endlessly.
As the servant heard the dissatisfaction in his voice, he looked at him meekly and said, “Boss, I think we should raise the returns for the first outcome.”
“What does a punk like you know?” Innkeeper Chou glared angrily at him, saying, “The first outcome has enough people in the pool. Look, ninety-nine percent of the gamblers are betting on that outcome. If they are killed by the Heavenly Tiger Hall, then we’d have to give so much that we won’t even have the clothes on our backs!”
“Tsk, do I not know you? Weren’t you sure that nothing would happen to them? Even if they were to be in danger, you would give yourself to make sure that they’re fine just to win!” The servant said, not believing him.
“You’re right about that though.” Innkeeper Chou had a moment of epiphany and said, “Spread the news, that returns on the first outcome will change from ten times to twenty.”
As the betting returns changed, within the next two days, tens of thousands of people had come to place their bets. Sima You Yue was speechless when she heard of all these happenings. It looks like none of them had faith in their ability to make it out alive.
And at this time, the entire Heavenly Tiger Hall had become extremely curious as to the direction that the board was going to take. Ever since Innkeeper Chou’s incident happened, the Hall Head had already decided to stay low, and the matters of the Hall were taken care of either by the Vice Hall Head and the Elders. Today, he was going to make his appearance again, which meant that this was a big issue. Within the discussion board, everyone was in disbelief, looking at the Hall Head Zhou Hai Mo. Zhou Hai Mo looked like he was about forty years of age with a rather mediocre physique. Yet, he gave off a vibe that was extremely threatening.
“What is going on right now? How is it that both an array master and a beast tamer are involved?” His deep voice carried a tinge of rage. It seems like getting involved with Sima You Yue and the rest had made him angry.
“According to what we have found out, Subsidiary Hall Leader Zhou Shu Ren had wanted to chase him out for what happened at the Zhuo family’s residence, and this was offensive to him. Subsidiary Hall Leader Zhou Shu Yu had gone down because they had refused to pay the protection fee and entrance fee, but ended up enthralled by that grand master’s appearance and wanted to snatch him home, and ended up being killed.” One of the subsidiary Hall Heads spoke up.
“So you mean to say that he did not provoke and challenge the Heavenly Tiger Hall first?” Zhou Hai Mo asked.
All of the Subsidiary Hall Heads looked at one another, and had to admit that that was true and nodded, “Yes, that is the case.”
“If it wasn’t for the fact that I am the one taking this case, would you guys have let what happened all those years ago happen again?” Zhou Hai Mo asked again flatly. He was met with silence.
“But Hall Leader, that is the child that Little Aunt had left behind. We had promised to take of them. Now that they have been murdered, is it right for us to just let them go?” Vice Hall Leader Zhou Hai Min said indignantly.
“That person is a Grand Master who is both an array master and a beast tamer. Do you think that we could easily provoke a person of such calibre?” Zhou Hai Mo berated.
Zhou Hai Min retaliated disapprovingly, saying, “But we have checked on them. They are just people from one of the lowly continents below. They are not people of grand backgrounds. Even if they disappeared, no one would be the wiser!”
“Ridiculous!” Zhou Hai Mo looked at his own younger brother and said, “Have you become arrogant and complacent after these years of caring for the Heavenly Tiger Hall, and now you think you can kill whomever you like? That person is a beast tamer and an array master. If you can’t destroy that person and that person escapes, do you really think that the Heavenly Tiger Hall can continue to exist after that?!”
“But they…” Zhou Hai Min still had some words upon his lips, but his older brother’s fiery stares made him swallow them.
“Were you going to say that their powers are not great?” Zhou Hai Mo asked. Zhou Hai Min said nothing, admitting to what he had said.
“Humph. Do you know how powerful an array master is?” Zhou Hai Mo huffed icily. “If you’ve only looked at their surface powers, but you have never seen the dangers of a powerful array! What’s more, it is clear that they are not weak, if not they would not have been able to wipe out the Hall Leaders of the Heavenly Tiger Hall! Or are you simply curious as to how that array could work?”
“I…” Zhou Hai Min was fully aware of the prowess of an array master, but he wanted to avenge his loved ones even more.
“You had better abandon the idea of going to seek revenge. From this moment, you are not permitted to even think about getting revenge. In fact, you must treat them with respect and courtesy. If not, if anything happens to the Heavenly Tiger Hall, I will definitely not spare you. Do you understand?”
“I understand.” Although he felt indignant, Zhou Hai Min could do nothing but agree.
“So Hall Head, what should we do now?” One of the Subsidiary Hall Heads asked.
“We have already provoked them twice, and we must not provoke them again. We must, instead, go and apologise. If we can get on good terms with them, that would be the best. But if not, we will still have to try to erase the animosity that is between us.”
“Who will do that then?”
Zhou Hai Mo thought for a while, then he said, “I will go.”
“Hall Head?!” All the Subsidiary Hall Head’s looked at Zhou Hai Mo in shock. He was going down personally?
“Ever since the Heavenly Tiger Hall’s transportation array had broken, we have had lesser and lesser communication with the world outside, and we have become ignorant and trapped in our own world.” Zhou Hai Mo said. “An array master or a beast tamer would enjoy a high status outside, and that person is both an array master and a beast tamer. Even in a land of higher power, that person would receive a great amount of honour. Now that we have offended such a person, we must redeem ourselves. Are they still at the Guesthouse Inn?”
“Yes. Other than Sima You Yue and Bei Gong Tang, who have come out once, the rest have never come out of there.” Someone answered.
“Go to the storehouse and retrieve some treasures.” Zhou Hai Mo commanded.
“Yes, Hall Head.”
When the Heavenly Tiger Hall members all heard the news that the Hall Head was going down personally to apologise to Sima You Yue and the rest, they were all completely shocked. They had been waiting for orders to arrest Sima You Yue and her crew. But now, they had been ordered to be courteous to them and to treat them with respect. It caused them to feel a little bitter on the inside. However, the ones who were the most perplexed were the residents of the Great City. When they saw that the Heavenly Tiger Hall’s key person had personally appeared at the Guesthouse Inn, everyone had thought that their eyes were playing tricks on them.
“Hey. The Hall Head has arrived!” Innkeeper Chou looked at Zhou Hai Mo, smiling. Zhou Hai Mo saw that Innkeeper Chou still looked the same as he did decades ago. And except for the fact that his aura was stronger, there was not even a scar on his body to mark a difference to his appearance. He smiled and greeted, “Has Innkeeper Chou been well in these years?”
Innkeeper Chou smiled happily and replied, “I’ve been good. Just that when your people had come they had broken some of my tables and I have not yet received a compensation…”
“Are not not going to compensate him for his furniture?” Zhou Hai Mo glanced over to Zhou Hai Min, who was standing beside him. Zhou Hai Min came up to the counter, disgruntled, and asked, “How much?”
“Not much, just ten thousand mid-tier crystals.” Innkeeper Chou’s eyes glimmered as he spoke.
Zhou Hai Min’s heart felt like it was engulfed in flames, but he still gave the crystals over, before returning to stand at Zhou Hai Mo’s side.
“Innkeeper Chou, does a Grand Master Sima still reside here?” Zhou Hai Mo asked.
Innkeeper Chou blinked repeatedly, his heart skipping a beat.
Grand Master, he said?
