Chapter 1493: Missed Calls

Huo Yao watched from behind and raised her brow at Zhuo Yun as he left the villa.
Min Yu put a piece of fish into her bowl without noticing her expression. He asked. “When are you going to start school?”
“I have made plans to meet my teacher in the morning.” Huo Yao ate some rice. She was in a good mood. “While I’m at it, I’m going to collect the prize money for collaborating with the National Research Institute of Science and Technology last year as well.”
Min Yu’s hands froze on hearing this. He asked in astonishment. “Are you all done already?”
Academic research usually took a long time to complete, so it was normal for the projects to take years or even decades to have any results.!!
“I’m a pro, so things naturally went smoothly.” Huo Yao nodded with a confident look on her face with a few stray hairs falling from her forehead, softening her features.
Min Yu glanced at her deeply. She probably worked quickly so that she could get her hands on the prize money as soon as possible.
Huo Yao cleared her throat and continued eating.
By the time they were done with dinner, it was nearly 10:00 pm. Huo Yao did not feel tired, but she went to the living room to take her phone and go back anyway.
She had previously set her phone to silent mode. The moment she tapped on the screen, she could see notifications for two missed calls.
It was an unknown number calling from another province roughly two hours ago.
Huo Yao glanced at the unknown numbers before putting her phone away. She put on her down jacket and turned to say to Min Yu as he came back from the kitchen. “I’m going back.”
Min Yu glanced at her and unrolled his sleeves as he retrieved his jacket from the side. “Let me walk you back.”
Huo Yao wanted to say no but did not speak up eventually.
The two of them walked out of the villa one after another.

Before long, Min Yu came back after sending Huo Yao home. When he got back to the villa, he went back to the study in the basement and continued working on assembling the weapon.
After putting on his gloves, he wanted to undo the half-done assembly and start over when he noticed something different about the parts and paused briefly.
The parts were simply scattered all over the table previously, but they looked a lot more organized now. Also, some tiny screws could be found beside some of the main parts.
Even though it was slightly messy, Min Yu could detect a kind of order in the parts. After quietly thinking about them, he finally made headway with the assembly.
He picked up his tools and started assembling the weapon unhurriedly.
Time passed quickly. Before long, it was already 4:00 am. Min Yu was finally done assembling the last part of the weapon.
He compared his work to the diagram and they looked exactly the same, so he could not help feeling a wave of relief.
Min Yu narrowed his eyes looking at his work. After some time, he walked over to the cabinet, took a piece of black fabric and covered the weapon with it. When he was done, he finally left the basement.
Zhuo Yun and Yang Yi arrived at the villa first thing in the morning.
Min Yu only got to rest for roughly three hours the previous night, but he was already seated in the living room. They could tell just by looking at his face that the man was exhausted. As they spoke, Min Yu kept rubbing his brow.
“If we don’t succeed in assembling K-1 soon, I think things are on the brink of exploding. I just heard that the leaders of the Weapons Bureau are fighting again,” said Zhuo Yun as he looked at his boss cautiously.
Yang Yi kicked Zhuo Yun and signaled him to keep quiet. Their boss had clearly already lost a lot of sleep thanks to the situation.
Zhuo Yun caught Yang Yi’s drift and promptly changed his tune. “Well, some things can’t be rushed. Boss, you have to get more rest.”
