Chapter 145 – Was it a wedding outfit? (2)
As for Yuan Jue, he had spent the afternoon working hard to cultivate and mend his broken meridians. Now that he had recovered a bit of demon consciousness, he used it to secretly watch her.
Seeing the red robe in Ruan Qiuqiu’s arms, Yuan Jue was stunned. Surprise flashed through his eyes. The hand that he was resting on the stone table slightly clenched.
This red clothing, he never seen clothing that looked like this. Did she make it for him? Was it a wedding outfit?
(T/N: I’m guessing this is the red robe that Yuan Jue is wearing on the cover.)
Like a longing gaze, that heated demon consciousness slowly slid from the clothing to Ruan Qiuqiu’s red and swollen hands. Her fingers were trembling, and there were line marks on her finger. Those marks must have been left from when she had thread tightly wrapped around her finger when she was making the clothing.
Without noticing, he tightly furrowed his brow. His expression looked more fearsome than before.
Ruan Qiuqiu thought the change in his expression was because he was feeling uncomfortable. She didn’t deliberately keep a distance from him.
“Mr. Yuan, are your injuries feeling uncomfortable?” Ruan Qiuqiu gently asked. She walked over to him, folded the clothing, and placed it on the stone table.
Since she didn’t tell him if this robe was for him or not, the jar of jealousy in Yuan Jue’s heart instantly turned over. He hadn’t known until now that he was so sensitive.
The simplest of actions from Ruan Qiuqiu would make him feel terribly upset and inferior.
He was a frightening figure and had the appearance of someone that shouldn’t be trifled with. He was awkward in character and wasn’t good at talking or getting along with others. He only stiffly answered, “Doesn’t hurt.”
Ruan Qiuqiu: “…” If his furry ears weren’t drooped and there weren’t residual tears in his long eyelashes, then maybe, just maybe, she would have believed his words.
She was lost in thought as she stared at the multifold fluctuation of his furry ears.
His ears languidly shook without him noticing. In a hoarse voice with an unclear tone, the wolf asked, “… Are you tired?”
Ruan Qiuqiu was amused and wanted to smile. She was a forthright person and since she was a bit tired right now, she nodded. “Yeah, a little.”
Yuan Jue’s demon consciousness fell on her slightly red and swollen hands. He hesitated for a moment before finally saying in a cold voice, “Hand.”
Ruan Qiuqiu: “…?”
The wolf seemed a bit impatient. He thought his tone was cold and hard, but his distress for her leaked through his voice. “Give me your hand.”
Ruan Qiuqiu felt that his voice sounded as if he had been terribly wrong. Her heart couldn’t help but soften. Although she didn’t know what the wolf wanted to do, Ruan Qiuqiu obediently raised her hands.
Knowing that he couldn’t see, she placed her hands near his and waved a bit to make a breeze to indicate where her hands were.
Yuan Jue: “…”
His pupils that were gradually growing gloomy seemed to stare at her red and swollen hands. He raised his big hand and carefully touched her hand.
When his finger slightly came into contact with her hand, Ruan Qiuqiu suddenly widened her eyes and blushed. By the time she returned to her senses, he had already put his hand down. It might have been her imagination; she thought she heard a chuckle from him.
“Done.”
Ruan Qiuqiu: “Ah…”
She lowered her head. It took her an extra delayed moment to notice a refreshing sensation from her hands instead of the usual discomfort. Her hands had been tormented with frostbite, but they weren’t seriously damaged by the cold. The marks left on her hands from making clothing had also disappeared.
In that moment when she was stunned, the wolf had somehow done something to quickly heal her hands.
While Ruan Qiuqiu touched the injuries on her face that haven’t healed yet, she thought that perhaps Mr. Gray Wolf didn’t dislike her.
She pursed her lips in embarrassment. Her line of sight fell on his face. She tentatively said, “Thank you… Husband.”
