Chapter 118 - She just wanted to facepalm at his decision-making (2)
By the time Little Yu was on his third round of calling out and was stamping his feet in anxiety, Ruan Qiuqiu finally woke up. She absent-mindedly opened her eyes and saw the cave’s familiar, almost flat ceiling. She instinctively reached out to the other side of the bed, but the wolf wasn’t there. The last of her sleepiness disappeared.
Jolted awake by Mr. Gray Wolf’s absence and putting together what had happened, Ruan Qiuqiu immediately sat up. She rubbed her forehead and heavily sighed. Remembering that Mr. Gray Wolf had put her to sleep last time in order to lead that fiend away, she realized that he was behind Lu Ziran suddenly falling to the ground and convulsing and that her initial guess that another demon had come to help them was wrong.
She didn’t know when he had recovered enough that he had the strength to attack the male lead, but the knowledge didn’t scare her. Instead, she just wanted to facepalm at his decision-making.
She didn’t care that Mr. Gray Wolf was the one that attacked the lion, but why did he put her to sleep again? She hadn’t brought back her food and spiritual energy stones yet.
And also… when she had struggled and shouted in the snow like she was acting out a play, did he know about that...
Ruan Qiuqiu wanted to cry, but she didn’t have tears. She could only comfort herself with the thought that the wolf was blind and wouldn’t have seen her flopping her hands and feet.
Also, he looked like a wolf that cared about cleanliness. How could he put her on the bed when she was so dirty? He didn’t even change her clothes...
Umm… Ruan Qiuqiu blushed. Never mind, it was fine if he didn’t change her clothes. But how come he didn’t even take off her shoes?
Feeling that there was something covering her feet, Ruan Qiuqiu endured the pain in her calves and hastily sat up. When she saw that their animal skin blanket had gotten dirty, she felt a suffocating annoyance and even entertained the thought of eating that wolf.
Where was that wolf? Where did he go?
“Big Sister Qiuqiu!” Little Yu was still shouting outside. Ruan Qiuqiu returned to her senses and quickly shouted back a response. She had only taken a few tottering steps forward when she noticed something off.
Why were there three eggs on the stone table? The diameter of those eggs were almost the same as her forearm. Where was there a large piece of cleaned up black animal skin in the corner? It looked like it came from a bison?
Did Mr. Gray Wolf go hunting? His body clearly hadn’t recovered to that extent.
Ruan Qiuqiu furrowed her brow. As she looked at the steaming hot water in the stone pot, she grew uneasy.
She lifted up the tattered animal skin curtain, walked to the storage room, and saw a giant pile of processed bison meat.
Ruan Qiuqiu: “...”
She rubbed her eyes in a daze and discovered that she wasn’t imagining things. That really was bison meat. Based on the amount, it was probably from a baby bison. Based on the abundance of spiritual energy in the meat, it had to be level 1. After confirming that there was spiritual energy in the meat, she knew that this animal wasn’t something she would be able to hunt down.
Ruan Qiuqiu held the wall for support. Although this should be a happy discovery, she wasn’t happy at all.
Why? Because if that wolf wasn’t in the storage room, it meant that he wasn’t in the cave.
She had clearly just woken up and come out of the soft and warm blanket cocoon, and yet, her entire body felt cold at this moment.
She pressed her lips tightly together and thought; this couldn’t be a parting gift, right? Her eyes embarrassingly teared up, and her vision was blurred from the unshed tears.
It won’t be like last time when he had reached his limit after fighting off the fiend, right?
Thinking of this possibility, Ruan Qiuqiu hastily went back to the bedroom and picked up her spear. She hesitated for a moment before she put flint and firewood into her backpack, then she ran out of the cave.
Mo Yu was still waiting outside. Seeing her coming out, he sighed in relief. “Great, you’re okay, Big Sister Qiuqiu.”
His voice had become a bit hoarse. The crack in his voice when he said those words sounded pitiful.
Ruan Qiuqiu felt guilty. She leaned over so their eyes were level. “Little Yu, why are you here?”
Mo Yu stuffed what he was holding into her arms. Smiling, he said, “My older brother woke up. He told me to bring over some stuff. Little Bohe said you’re a bride and you have to wear pretty clothing.”
