Chapter 66 - You didn’t go to the wrong place
Edited by xiin and Noks
When they returned to the hotel, Yu Yan got out of the car.
Yi Chen rolled down the window and asked, “Are there any scenic spots you want to see?”
Yu Yan was stunned for a moment before he shook his head. “I thought I was only going to be here for a day or two, so I didn’t look any up… There’s no time to go anyway.”
Yi Chen let out an “en” and said, “Go back ba.”
“Okay.”
Yu Yan stood in place and waved at him.
The window didn’t close. The two of them looked at each other for a few seconds, and then Yi Chen’s lips raised as he asked, “Why aren’t you going inside?”
Yu Yan replied, “Going in now.”
“En.”
Yu Yan still wanted to say something and opened his mouth to do so when he was suddenly interrupted by the loud blare of a horn from behind him.
There were several cars lined up behind Yi Chen’s, and they couldn’t wait any longer.
“Leaving now. You should go in quickly.” Yi Chen stepped on the accelerator to leave after having said that.
Yu Yan watched him drive away and only turned to enter the hotel once he couldn’t see him anymore at all.
When he got back to the hotel room, he found Lu Xiuhe using his laptop to play LOL.
“Baby, I’m here, tempt them a bit…” Hearing sounds of movement, Lu Xiuhe looked up. “Xiao Yan, you’re back? What did you go eat?”
Yu Yan took off his coat and put it on the sofa as he answered, “Steak.”
“You had steak for a midnight snack?” Lu Xiuhe asked, “…really exotic. What does Boss 1 look like ah? How old is he?”
Yu Yan replied, “Don’t know, looks like he’s in his twenties.”
Lu Xiuhe asked, “And his looks?”
Yu Yan couldn’t describe mens’ appearances, and so could only tell the truth, “More handsome than you.”
“?” Lu Xiuhe was shocked, “I was just asking, why are you attacking me personally instead?”
With that, he went back to being engrossed in the game.
Yu Yan turned around and went to his room to prepare to take a bath. It was only then did he see the local specialty gift that he had placed in the corner of the room when he had first arrived.
“……”
No wonder he had kept feeling as if his hands were empty and that he had forgotten to take something with him.
It didn’t matter, there was still next time.
He squatted down, picked out what he thought was delicious from the local specialties and set it aside.
“Xiao Yan!” Suddenly, Lu Xiuhe’s voice sounded out from outside.
“What’s the matter?”
“Come and help me for a bit.” Lu Xiuhe said, “My mom called me, I have to deal with her.”
Yu Yan went out, took over his laptop, and asked, “Auntie didn’t know you were coming to Jincheng?”
“I skipped class to come here, how can I let her know… Don’t make a sound ah,” Lu Xiuhe said.
Lu Xiuhe was playing Lee Sin, and the match was already coming to an end… They were just minutes away from the destruction of their Nexus by the other side.
Yu Yan looked at the KDR ratio at the top of the screen and asked, “It’s already like this, why don’t you surrender?”
Lu Xiuhe covered the cell phone’s microphone and said, “My baby is playing Twitch and is really good at making a comeback. Play some more and see how it goes, anyone with a dream becomes extraordinary.”
Yu Yan was eager to realize his dream for him.
But just as Lu Xiuhe uttered these few words, the enemy teamed up 5 against 1 and killed the Twitch who was killing creeps in the bottom lane before heading straight for the base. Lu Xiuhe, the 2/9/3 Lee Sin, managed to land a big attack, but his opponents only lost three bars of health. He could only watch as their Nexus got destroyed.
Yu Yan closed the game, took off his headphones, and got up to leave.
Lu Xiuhe was sitting nearby. Yu Yan took two steps and then came to a sudden stop.
“Yes, I went to play with Xiao Yan. Where are we playing? At his house ah, really, don’t you believe me? You wait, I’ll let him tell you…” After Lu Xiuhe finished talking, he handed Yu Yan his cellphone and suddenly felt a weight on his head.
He looked up blankly at Yu Yan, who had put his hand on his head.
Yu Yan didn’t speak. He rubbed his head first, then pinched Lu Xiuhe’s face a bit.
Lu Xiuhe: “…?”
Yu Yan let go of his face and asked him, “How do you feel?”
Lu Xiuhe felt muddled and completely forgot that he was on the phone as he asked back, “What feeling? What should I be feeling?”
Yu Yan frowned. “Do you think it’s normal for me to do this?”
Lu Xiuhe was even more muddled now and said, “Wait a minute.”
He turned to the phone. “Mom, did you hear that, Xiao Yan’s voice… he has something going on, so he can’t talk to you now ah. I also have stuff to do, so I’ll hang up now. I’ll come home, I’ll be back in a few days!”
Only after hanging up the call did Lu Xiuhe say, “Xiao Yan, you’re perfectly fine, so what are you doing touching my head?”
Yu Yan replied, “I also pinched your face.”
“……” Lu Xiuhe nodded, completely dazed. “So?”
Yu Yan asked seriously, “Are such gestures normal between friends?”
Lu Xiuhe replied, “It seems to be pretty normal among girls, from what I have seen before. If I touch other people’s heads though, it’s generally with the intent to provoke them.”
…Yi Chen certainly didn’t mean to provoke him.
Yu Yan nodded. “I also don’t want to touch your head or pinch your face at all.”
Lu Xiuhe: “?”
If he didn’t understand what Yu Yan was like, he would probably have already hit him by now.
Yu Yan, as he turned to go back to his room, said, “It’s okay, you play ba… I’m going to take a bath.”
Lu Xiuhe looked at his back and thought this whole thing was inexplicable. He muttered to himself as he put on his earphones, “Has he gone silly from eating midnight snacks?”
The voice channel had been switched on the whole time, and a message popped up in the game.
[Little fairy wants a hug QAQ: Who?]
“Xiao Yan ah.”
[Little fairy wants a hug QAQ: What did he do to you?]
“Don’t know, he suddenly touched my head and pinched my face. I don’t know what triggered him.”
A long silence followed from the other side.
[Little fairy wants a hug QAQ: Don’t stay with him anymore, move out ba.]
Lu Xiuhe paused, but then couldn’t help laughing as he said, “This room is so good, why would I move out? We can also take good care of each other when we stay together.”
[Little fairy wants a hug QAQ: …I’ll pay for your room. Move out tonight.]
Lu Xiuhe replied, “No, it’s too much trouble, I’d also have to pack again. And I don’t need your money. Why do you suddenly want me to move out…”
[Little fairy wants a hug QAQ: You’re just going to let him touch you like that?]
“No… What ah, no, no, it’s just a little bit of touching. What are you thinking, he and I are both men.” Lu Xiuhe joked, “Besides, even if we were bent, I would be the one making moves on him ah. You don’t know, but Xiao Yan is very attractive.”
He still had something more to say, but a sound signalling that his only teammate had quit the game rang through his earphones suddenly.
Little fairy wants a hug’s name had also turned dark.
—
Yu Yan was still thinking as he took his bath.
Why did Yi Chen… touch his head ah?
And pinch his face…
Yu Yan, from when he was small until now, had never had anyone else do something like this to him except for his parents or teachers.
If it had been someone else, such as Lu Xiuhe doing that to him, he would definitely not think much of it.
If it was Yu Minyang, or even Tuantuan, then also he wouldn’t think much of it.
The bathroom in the hotel room was very large, and it even had a bathtub. Yu Yan glanced at the box of flower petals and all kinds of aromatherapy oil bottles placed on the table, and then looked at the large mirror that reflected the view beside the bathtub.
Looking down from the window next to the bathtub, you could see the night view of the whole area, and it was bright and gorgeous.
Yu Yan stood beside the bathtub and looked at the night scenery, then picked up the towel before turning to the shower area.
Yu Yan remembered what he had heard in the elevator and got up early the next morning.
Jincheng was prosperous, and had more Internet cafes than Manyang, but every Internet cafe only had a few computers with a setup to support a livestream. Yu Yan ran to four different Internet cafes, only to find that all such computers had already been occupied.
Lu Xiuhe made several phone calls, but it was fruitless. He said, “…In fact, there are some computers that can support a livestream, it’s just that they’re not in a booth, so it’ll be a bit noisy, and the quality of streaming from such machines is relatively bad.”
“No way.” Yu Yan said, “The stream quality being bad would be okay, but… we have to find one in a booth.”
“Then we’ll just have to search some more ba.”
Yu Yan let out an “en”, and was just going to continue making phone calls when a voice call request suddenly popped up on his cellphone.
Yi Chen asked, “Why didn’t you reply?”
Yu Yan looked at his cellphone and said, “…I was stuck on the phone this entire time and didn’t pay attention to WeChat. What’s the matter?”
“Asked if you’re free tomorrow night.”
“I might have to livestream.”
Lu Xiuhe interrupted him, “Livestream my ass, we can’t even find a machine. You’re not going to get up at the crack of dawn tomorrow to try and find a machine ba?”
Yi Chen put the documents for his meeting aside and asked, “No machines?”
Yu Yan went to the side of the road and drank a mouthful of water before replying, “En, there are too many anchors and too few computers at the Internet cafes.”
Yi Chen twirled the pen in his fingertips and pondered for a moment before suggesting, “Come to my house to livestream ba.”
Yu Yan froze. “What?”
“I have a computer at home that’s been newly put together. It can be used to livestream.” Yi Chen said, “My home’s not far from the hotel.”
Yu Yan replied, “No need…”
“Then what are you planning to do, ask for leave today and try to grab a computer in the Internet cafe before dawn tomorrow morning?” Yi Chen’s voice was calm. “I live alone, so there’s no one at home during the day, and I’m the only one there at night. I’ll be in my study, and the room has very good sound insulation. I also won’t charge you any internet fees.”
He could livestream, use good equipment, pay no Internet fees, and stay in Yi Chen’s house.
…What kind of peerless good situation was this?
Although he knew that he shouldn’t disturb him, Yu Yan’s heart was very sincerely… clamoring to go.
At this time, Lu Xiuhe hung up another phone call. “They don’t have booths either, exactly how many anchors are there ah?”
“Don’t know, dozens ba.” Yu Yan finished saying that, then said to the person on the phone, “Then… I’ll have to bother you. Are you coming back in the evening? I’ll prepare dinner for you as an Internet fee ba?”
Yi Chen raised his eyebrows and asked, “You can also cook?”
“Not very well.” Yu Yan replied, “I’ll order takeout, is that alright?”
Yi Chen laughed and saw his secretary come in. “Yes,” he said. “I’ll send you the address and passcode… You can head there first.”
Yu Yan hung up and told Lu Xiuhe about this matter.
Lu Xiuhe replied, “Then I’ll go back to the hotel.”
Yu Yan was surprised. “You’re not going to an Internet cafe?”
“No, my baby isn’t playing today. I’ll go back to get some more sleep.” Lu Xiuhe casually asked, “Then, will you come back tonight?”
Yu Yan reflexively said, “Of course I’m coming back!”
Lu Xiuhe replied, “Okay, then give me a room card ba.”
Yu Yan gave Lu Xiuhe one of the room cards, called over a taxi, and gave the address Yi Chen had sent him to the driver.
Ten minutes later, the car stopped at a villa.
Yu Yan stood outside the door, repeatedly making sure that he hadn’t come to the wrong place, and only then did he enter the passcode.
He had just pressed a few of the buttons when he suddenly heard a click.
Yu Yan hadn’t even reacted to the sound yet when the door in front of him was suddenly pushed open. He took a step back instinctively.
A young man, who seemed to have just gotten a haircut came out, looking clean and fresh.
Yu Yan was shocked. He remembered Yi Chen saying that he lived alone, and that there would be no one else at home.
Having heard movement at the door, Yi Ran, who had come out specifically to take a look, popped his head out and asked, “Ah?”
Yu Yan looked down at his cellphone and then at the door plate again.
Although his heart was filled with doubts, he still said, “Sorry, I seem to have gotten the wrong house.”
When Yi Ran saw the person clearly, his eyes widened like that of an owl’s , and he grasped the person who was about to leave.
“No!” He shouted, “Sister-in-law, you didn’t go to the wrong place!”
