Behind him, the girls yelled indignantly, “That’s right. Do you have any idea how long Qinghan oppa waited for you?”
An Xiaxia: … She really didn’t know.
“I sent you a text message,” An Xiaxia said gingerly. Thanks to Su Xiaomo, she had managed to get Yin Qinghan’s cell phone number.
Yin Qinghan frowned. “I don’t use cell phones.”
“…” One could almost hear the sound of hearts shattering among the girls behind him, who had paid money to get his number.
There was the sound of a chair being drawn out next to An Xiaxia, then Sheng Yize sat down casually, which raised another wave of screaming among the girls.
“Wow, Sheng Yize is so handsome!”
“It’s such a pity that he’s left showbiz…”
“He looks like the cover of a magazine just by sitting there! Aww!”
Sunlight fell on Yin Qinghan’s shoulders and the warm color made him as marvelous as an angel on earth.
However, Sheng Yize simply took his seat and already his aura overpowered Yin Qinghan’s. Everyone’s eyes were on him now.
The two teenagers — one sitting down and one standing up — then exchanged a look. Yin Qinghan then found himself choking a little at the suffocating sensation of Sheng Yize’s stare.
He clenched his fists and gave An Xiaxia a scowl. “I’ll wait for you in the piano room after school again!”
He promptly left in his rakish manner again, leaving An Xiaxia to face Sheng Yize’s cold stare. She cringed back.
“An Xiaxia, where did this fellow even come from?” Sheng Yize pressed.
An Xiaxia said innocently, “I – I have no idea… I’m not going after school! I promise!”
“No.” Sheng Yize rubbed her hair. “You should go.”
“Huh?”
“I’ll go with you.”
Defeating a potential love rival was much more fun if he did it himself!

After the last bell of the day rang, An Xiaxia gingerly followed Sheng Yize out. With both his own bag and her pink backpack over his shoulders, he turned plenty of heads.
Mr. Idol looked as confident as ever with that pink thing over his shoulder. It was a picture too pretty to miss!
Yin Qinghan had been waiting for a long time inside the piano room. The corridor was packed with girls who all gawked at him with pink hearts flying out of their eyes.
He had taken off his jacket and was only wearing a white shirt underneath. He then rolled up his sleeves and unbuttoned the first two buttons, revealing his pretty collarbones and slender fingers.
“I’ve been waiting a while,” he said indifferently.
Sheng Yize immediately shielded An Xiaxia behind him. He was about to finish the guy off with his vicious tongue when Yin Qinghan handed her a violin and said sincerely, “I want to have a competition with you, fair and square. Last time, although I was the winner in the end, I don’t think it was an equal contest and there was no honor in winning.”
An Xiaxia was baffled and even Sheng Yize froze on the spot.
“No, no, no. I’ve seen you play. You’re a much better violin player than I am,” said An Xiaxia in a flurry.
Although she had only watched Yin Qinghan play once, she could tell that he had had very solid basic training and his skills were near perfect. She praised him from the bottom of her heart.
“You were very good as well. I studied your video.” Despite his impassive face, there was excitement in Yin Qinghan’s voice — one that suggested that he had met an equal match.
If An Xiaxia were to guess, she would say that he was one of those who was obsessed with music…
“Let’s have a competition,” Yin Qinghan said confidently. He then turned to Sheng Yize and asked, “Could you play the piano for us, please?”
The jumbled memories in her head surged at that moment and froze on the scene where Sheng Yize had gotten injured for her.
The soft and tender An Xiaxia lost her temper for the first time. “Who do you think you are? I didn’t agree to compete with you!”
