“Don’t look down on me like that. I used to make dumplings myself, okay?” Xia Ning came back out after washing her hands, then said to Jin Yan in a provocative manner. “Do you want to race me? Let’s see who’s a faster worker.”
Jin Yan smiled involuntarily. “You won’t win.”
Xia Ning raised an eyebrow. “We’ll see about that!” After that, she started making dumplings right away.”
She then saw Jin Yan wrap the wrapper around the filling with his nimble fingers and he was even able to make different styles of dumplings. Seeing her uniform dumplings, Xia Ning realized that she had underestimated Jin Yan.
However, they were competing on who was the faster one, but not whose dumplings were prettier.
Seeing that Xia Ning had repeatedly torn the wrappers, Jin Yan went up to her and raised the wrapper to her face. “I’ll show you how to do it. Don’t put in too much filling. This wrapper is rather thin, so make sure the filling isn’t too damp.”
“Alright,” said Xia Ning. Watching Jin Yan’s movement, she couldn’t help but sigh in amazement. “Jin Yan, you’re amazing!”
“I’ve been doing this my whole life,” said Jin Yan with a smile.
Xia Ning nodded. Seeing all the dumplings on the table, she sighed. “Your future girlfriend is going to be a very happy woman. You’re an amazing cook. She’s going to have something yummy every day.”
Jin Yan smiled, then turned to Xia Ning. “So my girlfriend is only with me for my food?”
“And your great looks too! Music King Jin!” said Xia Ning with a grin.
Jin Yan smiled. “If only my looks work that well.”
“Huh?” Xia Ning looked at him in bewilderment. That sounded weird.
Jin Yan smiled. “If my good looks are really that effective, why am I still single?”
Raising an eyebrow, Xia Ning said in resignation. “That’s because you’re too picky. I can post a ‘girlfriend needed’ post for you and this place would be filled with girls in no time.”
“Please don’t!” Jin Yan smiled. “That would surely give me a headache.”
“Jin Yan, I think you had girlfriends before. Have you lost contact with them?” asked Xia Ning. She seldom asked Jin Yan about his personal life, for as close as they were, she still respected his privacy.
Of course, those he could tell her didn’t count.
“I had girlfriends? Says who?” Jin Yan looked at Xia Ning.
Xia Ning was surprised, then she almost laughed. Since when did she begin to believe the tabloids?
“Music King Jin, you’ll have to work harder!”
Jin Yan looked at Xia Ning. “Don’t just talk about me. What about you? Have you decided to stay with Qiao Yu?”
The smile vanished from Xia Ning’s face right away. She fell silent and turned her focus on the dumpling in her hands. No matter how hard she tried to close the wrapper around the filling, she just couldn’t do it properly.

“He proposed to me this morning!”
The look on Jin Yan’s face changed, but it was back to normal when he studied Xia Ning’s face. “Did you say yes?”
