Eight months later…
Song Qingchun had already applied for leave from TW Station to prepare for birth around six months ago. As the due date drew closer, the time Su Zhinian spent at ST Empire also became shorter and shorter.
That early morning on December 27th, Song Qingchun was woken up by Little Sesame's kicking before the sun even rose. Her eyelashes barely flickered twice before Su Zhinian, who was asleep hugging her, awoke.
It was a Monday, and Su Zhinian had a morning meeting at 8 am and an incredible client to meet at 10 am.
The man who woke up at 6 am helped his wife, who had gotten a bit clumsy from carrying the huge stomach, prepare for the day. After breakfast and a short walk around the nearby park, he promised Song Qingchun multiple times that he would return home to accompany her for lunch before he was forced out the door by the impatient Song Qingchun.
Before starting the car, Su Zhinian even rolled down the window to repeat the same promise to Song Qingchun. With Song Qingchun looking on with annoyance, he laughed to himself as he turned the steering wheel to leave the house.
December 27th was also the date for Song Menghwa's annual physical check-up. After the butler and Mrs. Su left with her father, Song Qingchun sat before the window for a quiet moment between herself and Little Sesame. After a while, Song Qingchun turned to tell the personal nurse hired by Su Zhinian for her to ready the car before she went upstairs.
Song Qingchun changed into a loose dress and carried a large bag as she walked out of the house. However, as she pulled to open the door, the nurse stammered hesitantly, "Miss, Mr. Su said if you're going out, it's better to call him to inform…"
Before the nurse finished the sentence, Song Qingchun interrupted her with a smile. "It's fine, we're only going to ST Empire."
The nurse was stunned for two seconds before realizing Song Qingchun just wanted to give Su Zhinian a surprise visit. She immediately helped Song Qingchun get into the car and closed the door. To make sure she was comfortable, the nurse even lowered the seat for Song Qingchun.
Before going to ST Empire, Song Qingchun took a detour to the hospital. She wasn't there to check Song Menghwa's health report but headed straight to the third floor in-house patient block.
Afraid that something might happen to Song Qingchun, the nurse coddled Song Qingchun like she was some kind of national treasure.
The nurse had been to the hospital many times with Song Qingchun, so she led Song Qingchun to their destination without any order from her.
When the nurse wanted to raise her hand to knock on the door, through the window, Song Qingchun saw Cheng Qingchong sitting beside the bedside feeding Qin Yinan a bowl of porridge spoonful by spoonful. Song Qingchun immediately reached out to stop the nurse. They stood beside the window patiently until Qin Yinan finished his meal before she allowed the nurse to knock on the door.
As the nurse did so, Cheng Qingchong's soft voice drifted out from within. "Come in."
The nurse pushed the door open and tactfully stood beside the door, holding it open for Song Qingchun. She closed the door lightly after Song Qingchun walked in.
Cheng Qingchong, who was in the middle of clearing away the utensils, stopped when she saw Song Qingchun. She rushed forward to hold Song Qingchun. "Miss Song, you should have called us when you arrived. I would have gone down to fetch you."
