Chapter 512 - Purifiers

"Tian Zheng?" Lady Natalia's brow scrunched up lightly, "I guess that was expected from that half-breed devil worshipper," she muttered indifferently before meeting Dima's gaze which made him flinch.
Lady Natalia was over 6 feet tall with a heavy build. Her heavy armor covered every part of her body, making it difficult to even identify her gender if she had the helmet on. There was steel plating above the shoulders of the armor which went straight up for almost half a foot, covering half her head from both sides. There were sigils and runes engraved on these plates.
And although it severely reduced mobility, it also protected the weakest part of her body from every single direction. For a normal person even walking in such a hulking armor set would prove to be a challenge yet to her it was completely normal.
Her eyes lingered on Dima's nonchalant smile for a couple of seconds before she turned around to leave, "I will take command of the situation outside. Stay here," she ordered and started walking away.
Her entourage all of whom were dressed in almost identical heavy armor followed her out of the tower in silence, the only sound coming from the clanking of their armor.
Dima watched her leave and let out a breath of relief when their shadows vanished from view. He looked towards Senij with a helpless smile, "You heard her. Follow her, it's her show now," he waved his hand and walked out of the other entrance, going higher up to the last floor of the tower.
*Sigh*
Senij let out a deep sigh and turned around to leave as well. The crowd that had gathered behind him started following him as well but a few people stepped out and got closer to him.
One of them was a young girl in her teens. She had shoulder-length black hair and a double-bladed staff on her back which made her pretty face look somewhat twisted.
"Senior brother, isn't Young Master Dima in charge of the city? Who was that lady?" she asked innocently with wide eyes.
Almost everyone in the crowd behind them perked their eyes and listened carefully. These youngsters were the future leaders of many of the powers and those that were talented enough for the Temple to take an interest in them. They were all new recruits as well who had no idea what was going on.
Senij shook his head helplessly, "Of course he is, he is the First protector. That's his only job."
"Then..."
Senij suddenly paused midstride, making the girl who was closely following behind him run into his back face first. He looked back and saw the faces of all the youngsters who were listening in with interest and couldn't help but to let them know.
"She is...a Purifier....and Lord Dima's fiance," he commented lightly but everyone who heard him had a look of absolute shock plastered all over their faces.
"A P-Purifier?" the girl repeated, stupified.
The mouths of all the youngsters fell open, other than one person in the very back. None of them asked anything else and they all left the tower in complete and utter silence.
They reached the main floor at which point Senij clapped his hands once, "Alright get ready everyone, we will be backing up Lady Natalia soon, go go!"
The crowd dispersed, each going their own way. A group of three went towards a building in the distance and when they were far enough away, the tallest of them who was at the very back of the crowd tapped the guy next to him with one of his four hands.
"Med, what's a purifier?" he asked with a straight face. The young man named 'Med' looked up at his face, shocked once again.
"Monk, how can you be such a great fighter but know nothing about the world outside? I told you to study these things man!" he reprimanded the four-armed Jia Soldier.
If Hao Xuan was here he would instantly recognize this clueless giant as 'Monk', one of Hao Xuan's servers that he had sent into the Temple at the start of the competition.
Monk smiled sheepishly, "Come on, you know how boring books are. Just tell me, I always skipped those lessons back home."
Med shook his head weakly, "I guess it's unavoidable. Alright, listen up, the great me will once again tell you what's what!" he patted his puffed out chest proudly.
But as soon as he started speaking, he became serious.
"Purifiers are followers of the Temple of Light and other gods and temples that work with them. They believe in the cause with such blind passion that it often crosses the very thin line into fanaticism. They think that the Temple of light is the only path to redemption and everyone that goes against them is evil and should be wiped out of existence, i.e purified."
"Purifiers are the self-proclaimed warriors of justice but that's not the scary part. Because they are such fanatics, the so-called "good" Gods allow them to use their powers as their own, which makes them quite formidable. Whatever you do, don't piss those people off.. Otherwise, you will either be killed in broad daylight or will have to spend the rest of your days on the run," he finished the explanation with a warning.
