Chapter 302 Deciding To Add A Second Point To The Circus!
As Su Yang clicked on [Add Performers), the notebook automatically flipped to a new blank page. The page number indicated that this was the fourth page.1
‘Hmm. 1, 2, 3, 4. The page numbers seem to be in order. Seems about right.’
Su Yang looked at the notes on the fourth page, and there was only one line of small text. [To add new actors, please add points again to enable the Burning Fate function.]
‘Burning Fate?’
Su Yang saw the word again.
‘What did it mean to burn destinies?’
He probably wouldn’t be able to take a guess if he were to do so blindly. However, combined with the feature of the circus, [Add Performer], it probably meant he’d have to somehow burn through their fated path before they could become new performers.
Although it sounded coherent, Su Yang still felt like the meaning was quite vague. It was a little hard to understand. However, since the notes suggested that he had to add more points to utilize the function, Su Yang gave up experimenting with this function.
He flipped through his notes. Although the notes would automatically flip the corresponding page number when he clicked on an option at the top of the first page, he realized that he could just flip through the pages himself.
The only difference with the pages automatically flipping was the second page, which had now gone up in smokes. It had reappeared but it was blank.
The pages in the notebook after page four was blank as well.
Since he didn’t find anything valuable, Su Yang got up and left his seat. It was then that he saw a flash of light that jolted him, allowing him to regain consciousness. By the time that happened, he had already appeared at the entrance of the circus.
Although all the props and actors on the stage had disappeared, Su Yang was still able to imagine the blood, gore, flying limbs and the non-stop wails from the circus grounds.
The bloody scene seemed to still be playing on the stage.
Turning back, Su Yang left through the door of light and returned to the virtual space.
The golden door of light slowly shrank and finally turned into a crown-shaped ring, flying toward Su Yang’s right index finger.
He didn’t even have the chance to dodge as the ring affixed itself onto his index finger.
The ring was cold as it slowly combined with his flesh and blood, turning into a tattoo.
Su Yang touched his right index finger but there was nothing unusual. It seemed like an ordinary tattoo. The only thing that was a little different from before was that the original golden crown had turned black.
It seemed that the Reincarnation Circus was also in hibernation mode while waiting for the next lunar cycle to arrive…
Su Yang was lying on his back on the sofa, pondering over the instructions on the fourth page [Add Performer). It required him to add another point to it.
‘Should I add a point or not?
‘I have enough random points but this circus is too weird…
Su Yang wouldn’t be able to bear the impact the circus had on his mental state again for a while. He felt like he was being haunted by negative thoughts once more as his heart felt like it was plunging into a dark abyss. With that, Su Yang decided to get some sleep after some thought. He decided that he’d only settle on a decision after waking up.
n
With that in mind, Su Yang returned to his room to wash up before putting on his salted fish mask. Then, he laid on his bed to sleep. He felt like he was now in a very dangerous situation. With the mere use of any ability, it would cause his mental state to deteriorate. Without his salted fish mask, he would probably have to boil one of Sanque’s arms as medicine again. One night went by silently. The next day, Su Yang was jolted awake by Little Deeny’s reminder, “Master, Pan Zhaodi is here.”
Su Yang looked at the time and saw that it was 8:00 a.m.. ‘Well, Miss Zhaodi is very punctual when it comes to working.’
Su Yang didn’t take off the salty fish mask, because he didn’t feel relaxed. Instead, he still felt like he was burdened by something and knew that he hadn’t recovered from his slump.
He put on his clothes, went to the living room, picked Eggy who was sleeping in the living room up before sending it out in a whisper, “Go out.”
A moment later, he and Eggy appeared from the bedroom.
Su Yang placed Eggy on the balcony and opened the door. Pan Zhaodi was standing outside as expected. She was still wearing a blue professional dress, and there seemed like she didn’t change from when he last saw her.
Su Yang thought retroactively. ‘I haven’t spoken to Pan Zhaodi about her salary, nor did I give her daily expenses. Is she penniless now?’
With that in mind, Su Yang asked as he let Pan Zhaodi into the house, “Sister Zhaodi, do you have any money on you?”
Pan Zhaodi nodded indifferently. “I do.”
‘Hmm…’ It wasn’t quite the same as the answer Su Yang had expected.
Su Yang, who had just gotten up and was still muddled didn’t know how to answer the question.
Fortunately, he was the boss so it didn’t matter what he said. He replied, “Oh, then let’s talk about your salary later.”
Pan Zhaodi pulled out her small notebook and recorded it carefully. “Okay, what time?” Su Yang was about to say that he wanted to discuss it right now. However, the mask made him a rather good procrastinator so he didn’t want to do anything. He thought about it and used the most common reply, “When I’m free… There’s no rush anyway.”
Pan Zhaodi nodded as she recorded his reply. “Okay.”
Then she turned a page and said, “Mr. Su, your trip today…”
Before she finished, Su Yang waved his hand. “I don’t want to hear anything related to work right now, so why don’t you make me something to eat first. I’m a bit hungry.”
Pan Zhaodi was stunned but still nodded calmly.
She briskly went to the kitchen drawer and took out an apron before putting it around her body. Then, she opened the refrigerator but found that there was nothing else in the house except for two eggs.
She took out the eggs and prepared to make an omelet for Su Yang…
Su Yang lazily moved a small chair and sat by the living room window, leaning against the wall while looking out the window at the scenery of the neighborhood. He was a little out of it.
‘My mood hasn’t recovered and I really don’t want to move at all…’
Pan Zhaodi, who was cooking in the kitchen, felt that Su Yang seemed rather different today. He always seemed to be full of energy and vigor, but he seemed rather peculiar today.
‘If I were to use a young man’s way of speaking, it would seem like he’s very depressed.’
As she cracked an egg into the pot, she wondered if he had fallen out of love. Boys his age seemed to fall in and out of love very easily.
After all, young people had relationships that started as quickly as they ended. It was very confusing.
As she slowly pondered, Pan Zhaodi silently served the fried egg by putting it on a plate before she carried it out to Su Yang.
Su Yang was sitting by the window as he looked out. When he saw Pan Zhaodi come over, he took the omelet, picked up the chopsticks on the plate, and ate it slowly and carefully.
Pan Zhaodi stood next to him as she looked at him silently. She felt that Su Yang was very quiet today so it’d make him more comfortable if she stayed by his side.
Perhaps, it had something to do with the fact that she was quieter and lonelier by nature.and quiet by nature. She liked to walk, run, and box by herself. Doing things by herself would also calm her heart.
As she thought about it, she didn’t hear his phone ringing. Su Yang put down his chopsticks, took out his phone from his pocket, and put it to his ear to answer the call.
“Hello? Oh. You’re in Shanghai. I know. I thought you were filming the Netbig films?
“Tired are you? That’s normal. Who isn’t tired of making movies.”
“Oh. You’re the lead actor playing a big role. Oh, the other lead actor.”
“All right. You go for it. Okay, let’s have dinner together when you’re done filming.”
Although she couldn’t hear what was being said on the other side of the phone, Pan Zhaodi was keen enough to analyze from Su Yang’s reply that it should be one of the celebrities.
Surely enough, Pan Zhaodi saw the name Lin Jiali in his phone’s interface when Su Yang put down the phone.
Pan Zhaodi vaguely remembered that there was a third-tier celebrity called Lin Jiali in the agency’s contract. Her last name was also Jiali so it was probably her.
‘They seem rather familiar with each other.’
Pan Zhaodi felt that she had to pay more attention to Lin Jiali’s information so she could give it to him at a moment’s notice if Su Yang needed it.
As for other things between them, Pan Zhaodi knew very well that she shouldn’t peer into such things that had nothing to do with her as a disciplined secretary. She was a secretary and she had to be at the top of her game for many things before the boss. However, the final decision would still be made by the boss.
Today, Su Yang spent the day quietly with Pan Zhaodi. Su Yang was resting to heal his mental state while Pan Zhaodi meditated quietly.
The two of them actually had a silent understanding, and neither of them spoke.
At 5:00 p.m., Su Yang looked at the time, then leisurely said, “Sister Zhaodi, summarize today’s events and send me a report, you can leave work now.”
Pan Zhaodie bowed slightly. “Yes. Mr. Su.”
Su Yang seemed to remember something. “By the way, where are you living now?” Pan Zhaodi replied, “I found a house nearby and I’m staying there for now.”
Su Yang nodded. “Go to the bedroom and take Eggy with you.”
Pan Zhaodi’s eyes lit up.
She was eager to open the bedroom door, and surely enough, Eggy had been quietly lying on the balcony while sunbathing. That silly dog didn’t even bark throughout the whole day and sat there quietly. Su Yang almost forgot about it.
Watching Pan Zhaodi leave with Eggy, Su Yang opened Little Deeny to read today’s report.
‘Seems like there’s nothing of value. After all, the company is on the right track, and as long as the company is on the right track, the collective effort of dozens of employees will also push it along.’ After all, the company didn’t only belong to Su Yang but also belonged to the employees of the company.
However, Su Yang was still the true owner.
The only thing that was of interest to Su Yang was that the negative publicity against the Find Me app had started to slow down along with the launch of the Find Me app’s (Hundred Day of Stars]. Perhaps, they began feeling like they weren’t accomplishing much aside from helping Su Yang with his traffic.
However, was this war something they can start and end whenever they want?
Su Yang went to the bathroom to remove his salted fish mask. As the drive returned to him, his initially gloomy and dark mood was finally gone.
He sent a message to Little Deeny to start gathering clues and evidence of the [In] App’s actions. Since they were planning a retreat, he’d tag along and bite off a piece of its flesh! Business was like a battlefield. Since they started the fight, they had to pay a price if they wanted to retreat.
After handing the matter over to Little Deeny, Su Yang’s gaze fell back onto that black crown on his right index finger.
In fact, he had been wondering if he should add any points to the Burning Reincarnation Circus throughout the entire day.
It was just that there were only two things hovering in his mind while he was wearing the salted fish mask.
“Should I add an extra point to it?”
“What a pain in the ass, I’m too lazy to think right now.”
After thinking for an entire day, he didn’t even come up with a result.
Now that the salted fish mask was taken off, Su Yang’s was back to normal.
If he thought about it logically, the circus was evil so Su Yang should be more careful and cautious.
However, Su Yang hasn’t experienced any harm to himself when using any of the special items or little monsters except when he overused them. Since that was the case, Su Yang felt like he didn’t need to unnecessarily worry!
It was hard for him to get such a magical item. If he didn’t see what it was like after adding 2 points, it would be too much of a waste of the extra point ability the heavens had given him!
The moment he took off the salted fish mask, Su Yang made a decision. ‘I’m going to add a second point!
He even decided on the time.
He wasn’t going to add the point anytime next month or the week after. Instead, he’d add it right now. Today!
After all, if he added the points today, he might even get a second chance to use the item. There was even the possibility of a shortened cooldown or other benefits!
