Chapter 292 A Secret War Between Both Sides — You & Me!
The big man had a shaved head and wore a tracksuit. He also looked rather large and was athletic.
With just a gland, Su Yang recognized him as one of the three who had visited his house in the afternoon.
Su Yang glanced at him while trying to determine the location of the rest. As a result, he was dumbfounded.
In Su Yang’s plan, (Heaven’s Eye) would be activated no matter how he observed his enemies. No matter where they were hiding, he would still be able to locate them.
As long as he located these three people, he could make use of his new silver ability (Hands of Fate] to get them right in front of him. Then, he’d make use of the [Memory Labyrinth Hourglass) to take a look at their memories, figure out their identities, and figure out if they leaked any information about him to other people.
Even if only one person was present, he’d still be able to find where the other two were by taking a look at his memories while completely disarming whatever they had planned for him.
However, the one thing he missed in his grand scheme was that he couldn’t determine where Baldy was at because he only saw the man watching him through an iPad in a room with white walls. The room was devoid of any identifying markers.
“This is quite interesting, isn’t it? Where is he?’
Su Yang scrutinized the information and found himself looking at Baldy on a screen.
So, he pretended to look into the sky at a 45-degree angle, making it look like he was contemplating something but he actually found a drone hovering in the air some distance away from him.
Su Yang was speechless.
‘They’re observing me with a drone? That’s too advanced, isn’t it? ‘How am I going to determine his location?’
Drones could be controlled from quite a distance — five to ten kilometers for an entry-level drone. A drone modded with a flight-control module would be able to extend that range to 150 kilometers which was simply too large a range, making it impossible to determine the location of the person controlling it.
As he thought about this, Su Yang realized that his plan tonight had failed.
So, he acted as if nothing had happened and chatted with Janet for a while before they parted, leaving the small garden.
After leaving, his ability deactivated. Su Yang looked up at the sky and saw the drone following Janet instead.
It made perfect sense. After all, Su Yang’s identity was already made clear to the other party so there was nothing else for them to be concerned about.
Janet was also a new breakthrough for them and was significantly more valuable for surveillance.
Su Yang silently brought Little Deeny out, telling her to tell Janet to take a few more rounds, preferably somewhere the drones couldn’t reach so he could shake them off his tail.
Janet had bone conduction headphones on her. As long as she gets the message and stayed alert, she’d be fine.
With that, Su Yang looked up from his eavesdropping device and returned to his room with a frown.
He felt like the failure of tonight’s plan was mainly because he didn’t expect the other party to use a drone for surveillance.
If he had known this earlier, he could’ve made arrangements to meet indoors instead, like a shopping mall where a drone couldn’t be used. Since the drone would be rendered useless, the person investigating him would have to show up in person. However, just because he came up with a plan to break their surveillance techniques didn’t mean he could capitalize on it right now. After all, meeting another person just after meeting something tonight would definitely arouse suspicion.
Because of this, Su Yang felt like it would be better to think about the matter in the long run.
Thinking along that line of thought, he quietly brought out the (Videotape To Make Up For Regrets) from the virtual space and affixed it to his forehead.
He made a copy of his memories from the afternoon he entered the house to the time when he discovered the bugs. Then, he gave the copy to Little Deeny and asked her to determine just how much information he had leaked.
30 seconds later, Little Deeny sent him a few keywords. Su Yang was relieved as he only revealed a few things. The main information he revealed was regarding the virtual space. One of the other things that were more likely to arouse suspicion is the sentence, “…you guys fix all of this!” Finally, the chants by the little monster beans and the screams were also likely to make them suspicious. However, these bits of pieces didn’t form a coherent thread of clues so the other party probably couldn’t make a proper guess as to what they were doing exactly. They’d probably probe and continue listening in by themselves so they could uncover more clues.
In the next two days, it was crucial that he didn’t reveal any more information. He had to act normal and also use the key words he had mentioned to act it out occasionally. Most importantly, he had to keep any and all information pertinent to his special abilities a secret.
Thinking along that line of thought, Su Yang left the room and waited patiently for Janet to come home.
Soon, Janet gently opened the door and walked in.
Su Yang took her back into the virtual space and asked her some questions. After making sure there were no problems, he returned to the real world to clean up and close the curtains.
Since the other party had already sent out a surveillance drone, they couldn’t leave the window. This was an easy loophole that could be manipulated.
After doing all this, Su Yang returned to the virtual space. He would begin planning how he’d draw the snake out of the hole.
At this point, his special abilities made him extremely strong. As long as he knew the location of the other party, he could catch or even kill them without even causing the least bit of suspicion.
There were two ways for him to locate the other party. One was if the other party exposed their location by themselves. The other way was if he could get his hands on their names.
However, this group was indeed much more professional than the security guards of Longteng Jiayuan. Until this moment, they hadn’t revealed any clues so this caused Su Yang quite a bit of a headache.
He knew that he had to be calm and composed. At this time, both sides were waiting for the other to reveal their weaknesses. Whoever couldn’t keep their calm would be the one on the losing end.
If he rashly used his ability but failed to get a hold of the other party, or accidentally expose the fact that he had special abilities, then the other party would make use of this fact to immediately spread the news. If that were to happen, it would be rather troublesome.
On the other hand, the other party would also lose everything if they took the initiative to spy on them personally or reveal information regarding their name and location by mistake. Wait. All he had to do was wait.
In his determination, an image suddenly appeared before him. (Heaven’s Eye) activated. It was a luxurious-looking hotel. The same three people who had infiltrated his home in the past were there.
Baldy had an iPad in his hand. As he looked at it, he said, “Do you guys feel like Su Yang is rather strange?” Slouched halfway back in his chair, Sea Serpent asked, “What’s strange?”
Baldy stroked his chin. “There were obviously two people in his house. How did that man just disappear without making a sound ever again?”
Su Yang’s heart thumped. He didn’t plan for Janet to appear afterward. However, this fact alone would only be unusual at most. It wasn’t an important clue.
The monkey who was peeling apples at the side suggested, “Go back to the house. I was telling you to put in more bugs and you didn’t listen!”
Baldy nodded silently.
The image came to an abrupt end here.
Su Yang’s gaze flickered with cold light. ‘I’m an ordinary person, not a professional. Getting me to make a mistake is rather simple. These three people are simply too dangerous so I’ve got to resolve the matter as soon as possible.’
Just as he was thinking this, images suddenly appeared in front of him again. It was still the same location from his earlier vision with the same three people.
It seemed like the other party mentioned his name again.
Baldy said, “It’s always easy to miss clues when you can only hear the sound and not see the picture. I use the drone to check out his house later.”
Sea Serpent had gone from leaning on the chair to lying on the table. “I don’t care. As long as it doesn’t disturb my sleep.”
Monkey, on the other hand, threw away the apple in his hand, picked up another one, and continued peeling it, “Other than Su Yang, don’t you care about the other suspects?”
Baldy stroked his smooth head. “I’m still most suspicious of him. I’m even more suspicious after finding out he has some strange people around him.”
The other two didn’t speak and the image came to an abrupt end.
Su Yang contemplated. It seems like I was right to protect myself by closing the curtains to prevent anyone from sighting me. However, Su Yang went out to take a look once again to make sure that all the curtains and doors that could see inside the house were all closed before he returned to the virtual space just to be on the safe side. Once he was done with that, he prepared to get some rest. Before going to sleep, he received a message from Pan Zhaodi of only two words. (Thank
you).
Su Yang knew that she had probably taken care of the dowry she owed.
He was actually quite happy for her. In his view, there was no winner in this marriage. Pan Zhaotie, Liu Laoliu, or their parents, they were all victims.
‘Hmm… Perhaps, Pan Zhaotie’s parents were the only victors?’
Su Yang didn’t ask her about the exact course of her day since it was probably mostly unpleasant. So, he just sent a message and asked, [When you came to my house today, did you see any strangers, or notice anything unusual?]
Pan Zhao Di’s reply was still very brief. (No.]
Well, it seems that those three people really do things without leaving a trace. Su Yang now hoped that they would come to his house once more so he could just catch them and see what they were up to! Time passed but Su Yang was unable to sleep, probably due to something on his mind. He crawled up and looked at the time and saw that it was already 1:00 p.m. ‘Have they arrived?’
Putting on his clothes and coming downstairs, Su Yang sat on the sofa and called out an interface, wanting to play a few games to relieve his gloomy mood.
Just as he successfully got a match, he saw Satantan on the table. ‘Hm… Since the other party is using a drone and I can’t monitor or track them myself, can I send Satantan out for a try? After all, this guy can fly…’
Thinking along that line of thought, Su Yang woke Satantan up and released it from the virtual space, asking it to keep an eye out for any drones. It was instructed to return if there was any news.
To facilitate communication between both sides, Su Yang even affixed a bone conduction headset to Satantan’s body. Although they determined that Satantan couldn’t hear a thing after the experiment, Su Yang was still able to hear it speak.
It was better than nothing.
At the same time, the other three people in the hotel gathered around the table and activated the drone as well.
The drone carefully bypassed some tall buildings and other shorter buildings as it followed a map to arrive in Su Yang’s neighborhood.
When the picture on the iPad showed Su Yang’s window, Monkey looked up and saw a pitch-black image. Nothing could be seen so he said as he swallowed the noodles in his mouth, “There’s no way for us to see anything from this image.”
Baldy pressed a button as he operated it. “It’s fine. There’s an infrared night vision mode.”
The night vision mode turned on and the image became snowy white. It was as if the colors had been inverted but the details were still visible.
Monkey took another look but Su Yang’s window was covered by curtains so he couldn’t see anything. “The guy pulled his curtains.”
Baldy had an excited look in his eyes. “Looks like he’s very careful.”
Monkey was on the side with his head down in an attempt to solve a Rubik’s cube. “What does this have to do with being careful? Who doesn’t draw the curtains at night.”
Baldy was speechless. He had a point.
Baldy wasn’t anxious at all. “It’s fine, our drone is also fitted with thermal imaging. After I turn it on, I’ll be able to clearly see what he’s doing in the room.”
Saying that, he turned on the thermal imaging mode.
Once the thermal imaging mode was on, all objects emitting heat were displayed on the screen. The large man said, “Huh? How strange… Why is there no one in the other room?”
When he finished, he looked to the other two. “Did you hear him go out?”
