House Of Legions (The Angel Descendants book 1) Chapter 73 (Liam)

The night sky was starless, his body bumped onto something sharp causing him to wince. Hands tied
in the front as they pushed him up a long staircase, regardless of his offer to walk on his own. Liam
was seriously being tested. In other circumstances, he would’ve ripped their throats out without so
much as a glance, but keeping up a weak front was the only thing stopping them from tranquillising
him, yet again. Things hadn’t gone entirely the way he presumed it would, now a prisoner of Asguard in
the Elvan territory, Safiereal. Alexandra nowhere to be heard of or seen.

Liam had relied on been captured in the hope of getting more information by now, but instead, he was
pushed quietly across a staircase which led to the open grass-way toward the Elvan mountain,
“Raphael, stop this now. I mean no harm to your kind, the only law I broke, wasn’t even a law in itself.”

“I’m not in the mood William for your petulance, I would have killed you the moment I found you if I
could. Kalbreal is a betrayal to his own kind, weakened by nameless mortal half-blood, he forgets his
loyalties. What I do to you, would be a fine reminder to him.”

“This is about Clare, isn’t it. You know who she is.”

“Oh, I do.” Raphael assured him, “In actuality, I know enough, that she won’t live much longer, not after
what Armatos did.”

The Asguardian who held Liam pushed him, but he didn’t fall, he fronts flipped, landing on his feet, not
even looking at the other Asguardians, but focused on Raphael.

He inquired, not surprised by Raphael’s nonchalant reaction to his strength, “Armatos, what did he do?”

“He gave the girl her memories back, it’ll take time to all be returned, but Kalbreal had linked it to her
legacies. Unfortunately, she doesn’t have her name, all that power without the Gazool to maintain it.”

Raphael shook his head, “Disastrous.”

“What.” Liam felt the air around him dense, as he fought to control his rage, and the coldness that
threatened to seep through his pores, “It’s too soon, I’m not… I’m not ready.”

Raphael stopped, and faced Liam at the end of the stairs, “Not ready? You can’t save her, you’re a
Caster, a beastly monster, she would need an Archangel at least, to save her. One of the highest
stature to return her name, and even then, the prince himself would come for her.”

Liam completely ignored this, he was thousands of miles away, attempting to reach his sister, but he
couldn’t, something was off, she wasn’t responding.

Liam’s face was cold, his big blue eyes smaller and darker. He lifted his chin, though still taller than all
the others who surrounded him, “This changes things, changes everything.”

Raphael grabbed a sword, “Changes what Caster?”

Liam looked at the heavy metal binding his hands, “Release me.”

The chains opened at request, Raphael lifted his sword, but Liam stood there not moving, “I don’t want
to hurt you Raphael, but if you stand in my way I will not hesitate.”

Liam’s body changed before Raphael and the other two members of Asguard. First, it was his skin,
glowing, then his eyes that resembled cut diamonds, and finally the blinding royal blue light that flamed
around him, like a fire which seeped out from his pores, bringing the touch of the fire of ice.

His hair still black, matching the coat he still wore buttoned up. Features still visible, he decided that he
would not show his full self, not yet anyway. He bent his knees, without a word or an acknowledgement
of Raphael he jumped high up into the sky and landed in the centre of the Elvan territory, at least fifty
kilometres away.

He was careful to land in an empty spot. People stopped to look at him, but it was a show he’d given
the Elvan one too many times for anybody significant to bother much. But the kids never got over the
thrill and that helped to calm him somewhat.

He wasn’t far from the castle door, which was made of black glittering stone. The land of the fallen
stars, he thought, as he moved toward the castle.

Liam had always favoured Safiereal, even with its darkness attached to the black buildings and slight
stench of demons ichor. It hadn't stopped him from receiving semblance from the aged buildings.
Maybe it was the fact that he and his siblings had resided here aeons ago, or helped build the very
buildings. Maybe it was the Gazool he had hidden in the very ground, he didn’t care.

On arriving at the castle wall, Liam hit his hand on the black stone wall, it melted down like liquid gold.
As soon as he stepped in, the wall began rebuilding itself, leaving no sign of entry.

The ceilings and the inside of the castle were made of cement and titanium. On the edges of high
narrow archways stood fire stands, also made from titanium. He focused on the voices, his walk brisk
but silent as he advanced toward the one he sought.

He didn’t stop or slow his pace but walked through the half-opened door, “AREXANDRA.” He yelled,
accusatory in his voice, his body back to its original self, “Demons, they intend to enter your land, I take
it you know this.”

The white hair queen didn’t so much as turn to face Liam, “Very clever William, did you hear them.”

“They call my name, WHY?” He inquired accusingly, “You gave me passage, unharmed, un-hunted, my
plan was working. Why did you betray me Elvan.”

She faced him, her shining teeth glistening in the reflections of fiery lights emanating from a small
fireplace behind him, “I didn’t do such, I promised you that you’ll be unharmed by my people, hunted
not by my own, William, and I delivered.”

“Don’t dissemble me Arexandra, I’ve lost my patience, SPEAK all that you know NOW!”

“You can’t come into my Land and threaten me!”, she retorted.
