Chapter 181: The Ice Queen Monica

The website already listed the battle strategy against the Ice Queen Monica and Icy Giant Worm. Thus, everyone knew how to deal with them if they would just take some time to read it, even without Li Yi’s explanation.
The Icy Giant Worm was not hard to deal with. It would only dig into the ground, target a player, and crash into them. That was all it would do. Since it did not possess much HP, Li YI and his party dealt with it without breaking a sweat.
There was only one boss that would be hard to deal with in the Ice Crystal Crown Instance Dungeon, and that was the Ice Queen Monica.
As the party reached the end of the dungeon, they saw a frosty beauty with a white crown sitting on her head. This was none other than Monica.
She was different from the rest of the bosses whose HP numbered in the tens of thousands, often reaching millions. Despite being controlled by the Ice Crystal Crown, her HP remained similar to that of an average player, standing at a cool 3,000 HP.
Her body was covered in a layer of faint white frost. This frost protected her such that no one could damage her no matter how hard they attacked. To deal any damage to her, one first had to deal with the layers of frost.
“Monica excelled in using all sorts of powerful ice-based AoE spells. There are a total of 555 layers of white frosts, with each layer possessing 10,000HP. The layers would be removed as its HP was depleted, but her body’s temperature would also simultaneously drop once this happened. Once all the frosts layers were taken down, it’ll be impossible to engage her in a melee combat. Range attacks won’t work either as the layer of frost that had fallen off would surround her body once more. This layer will increase in thickness with each ranged attack.” Confused Fox explained the battle strategy against Monica in detail to the party members.
Although Monica only had about 3000 HP, players would not be able to defeat her unless they dealt with the extremely powerful Ice Crystal Crown first.
“How do we fight her if she doesn’t have any openings?” Someone raised the question.
Confused Fox smirked and said, “We’ll take out all of the frosts – the boss’ HP will go down as it disappears. The only way to defeat her is to let her bleed out on her own.”
Li Yi looked at the time and nodded. “We should have enough time.”
They had about 2 hours left. This was enough to seal the deal.
“There’s another skill that we have to worry about other than the white frosts. It’s called Starfall. Whoever has Starfall cast on them must bodyslam the others within 3 seconds, or else he will be turned into an ice sculpture. After this, he will explode. Probably no one other than the main tank will survive this attack.” Li Yi added on.
Ten Confused Fox merged together would not equal Li Yi when it came to familiarity with the Ice Crystal Crown Instance Dungeon.
Confused Fox continued, “If there’s no other problem, let’s do this.”
Both tanks went up, signaling the start of the battle.
Monica did not utter a single word as she unsheathed both her swords and started attacking.
She was a Dual Wielding Explosive Thief in her past life, and she would use all the skills she possessed before all 555 layers of frosts were taken down.
The Explosive Thief and Cyclone Thief were two very different classes. The Cyclone Thief’s expertise was in landing combo hits. If done well, a combo of skills could kill any player at full HP. On the other hand, the Explosive Thief was all about killing his opponents in one hit, an outburst of damage in the blink of an eye. It had high equipment requirement and was incredibly powerful when used in combat. However, the DPS would drop to a pitiful state when all of the skills were on cooldown, making it a non-threat in this state.
Both main tanks alternated in activating their Shield Wall as they defended against Monica’s overwhelming attacks. The Explosive Thief’s damage output was incredibly overwhelming in the beginning whilst the Finishing Blow was a guaranteed critical hit. With this, both main tanks suffered a loss of 2000HP in an instant.
The key to victory in this battle was the healer’s healing rhythm, which could not be too slow or too quick. The healing would be optimal if the main tanks were healed the moment Monica dealt damage to them.
Nirvana Inaction pointed at them with his staffs before calmly healing both the tanks with a simple healing skill, making sure to heal them the exact amount needed, not a single HP more, or less. Li Yi could not help but feel shocked as he witnessed such amazing micromanaging skills.
The main tank’s HP had dropped 2000+ whereas the secondary tank’s HP had dropped 1000+. Nirvana Inaction used the knockback technique in conjunction with his healing skill, which could heal up to 2400HP, to heal the main tank slightly more than the secondary tank. Thus, he was able to pull the party out of a difficult situation with just a simple healing skill. If compared to a normal healer, he was incredibly efficient in terms of quality and mana consumption.
Nirvana Inaction, the infamous healer who could heal ten thousand people, was indeed incredible!
As the layers of white frosts were slowly taken down, the chill on Monica’s body that was locked within was released, causing all 10 of them to start losing their HP at a rate of 1HP every second.
The initial HP drop was so little that it was negligible. However, the true power of the chill would present itself once half of the frost layers were destroyed.
As Monica had used up all of her explosive skills, she could now only rely on normal attacks. She was at her weakest in this phase and everyone else just had to attack her while the main tanks did their jobs.
The people Confused Fox had invited were no weaklings. Not only were the two healers extremely good, but their DPS were also extraordinary as well. Li Yi was naturally ranked number one with his techniques and equipment of the highest grade, but the gap between him and the number two was not too large.
Confused Fox was ranked third whereas a human female Sky Vagabond named Rural Flowing Cloud was ranked number two, just barely behind Li YI.
Each Sky Vagabond could be played differently if their skills were added differently. Little Elf from the Magical Realm was a Sky Vagabond who primarily increased HP and ATK secondarily. However, Rural Flowing Cloud was different in such a way that her ATK was the primary stat while HP was her secondary stat. Hence, she could fully demonstrate the true power of Wind Attribute Magic.
She was also a famous player in the past life. However, at the time, she was still only considered a second-tier player with there being a gap between her and the truly world-class.
Li Yi had a little impression of her from when he had joined an Instance Dungeon together with her in his past life. However, she suddenly claimed that she had to prepare her meal out of the blue during combat and had gone offline before getting everyone’s approval. This resulted in their party being wiped out as they did not have enough DPS.
Her techniques were very acceptable. The only reason why she did not meet the mark as a world-class player was because she had often done things in the middle of combat such as preparing a meal.
All classes would often try to outmatch each other when they fought against a boss that was immobile. This was, in fact, one of the charms of the King of Pantheon. As Li Yi’s DPS was about 3000+, Rural Flowing Cloud tried chasing after him. He was not sure what she had used but her DPS had immediately doubled from 1000+ to 2700+. Her DPS surpassed Li Yi’s at its peak and would soon place her in the first place.
Li Yi was so curious that he could not help but peek at her equipment which she, fortunately, did not hide from public view.
She wore a set of gold equipment from head to toe, with all of them being of the highest grade. Naturally, it was no match for his own purple equipment, but it was definitely in the top five among other gold equipment.
Li Yi started sweating as he checked her status.
She had consumed a rare Raging Magic Potion which would double her ATK for a short amount of time. In return, she would be penalized with two days of fatigue once the effect wore off.
“Control your DPS a little bit and don’t go OT.” Li Yi reminded.
Unlike Li Yi who had been controlling his output, Rural Flowing Cloud went all out and would easily over damage the boss.
Rural Flowing Cloud acknowledged his reminder, then looked at the DPS ranking and continued dealing damage without any control.
After this, Monica lost her cool and rushed towards Rural Flowing Cloud at great speed. Rural Flowing Cloud then laid on the ground as Monica raised her sword up with both her hands and slashed it downward.
Once the player over damaged the boss, the aggro would shift…
Fortunately, both the tanks taunted at the same time and pulled her back before Monica burst out her skills again…
“I’ll deduct 1000DKP from you!” Confused Fox stared at Rural Flowing Cloud angrily. (Note: DKP also referred to as Dragon Kill Points is a guild point which is given by the guild to the players. Distribution of the equipment would be based on it with players bidding on items using DKP)
“It’s already in the negative…” Rural Flowing Cloud replied as she laid on the ground.
“Then I will punish you to use your alternate account for ten days.”
“I’m going to prepare my meals. You guys continue …” After saying this, Rural Flowing Cloud’s corpse disappeared.
“This always happens when she’s in the Instance Dungeon with us. Hey Guild Master, are you gaining any advantage from her?” Nirvana Inaction stared at Confused Fox and shook his head as he waved his staff.
“Is this not an advantage? Can you stop teasing me?” Confused Fox replied as he released the Arcane Missile.
Although they had lost one DPS, it did not matter at all as they still had Li Yi, the incredibly overpowered DPS.
555 layers of white frosts were peeled off one after another as the effect of the chills on the party members gradually increased. Their HP reduction per second started to increase to the point where they now lost 10HP per second. Their attack speed started to decrease as well, especially for the two main tanks, who suffered the most. Not only was their HP dropping drastically, but they would also occasionally be frozen by the chill. Overall, the situation looked very dire.
Meanwhile, both healers used every bit of their strength to keep the entire party’s HP above 50%.
“Bam!”
The final layer of white frost was shattered. Monica groaned as she placed both her hands on her head and squatted down.
“Stop attacking!” Li Yi and Confused Fox shouted at the same time.
He was not sure how many idiots were still attacking her, causing the white frost on Monica’s body to regenerate back.
The Ice Crystal Crown on Monica’s head released a pure and bright light, gradually covering Monica herself. Then, the rate of the entire party’s HP loss was doubled. While the DPS and main tanks could do nothing in this situation, Nirvana Inaction and the other healer grit their teeth and healed them non-stop.
“Crack!”
The attire Monica was wearing shattered as she suddenly transformed into a beautiful crystal woman with light blue skin.
“Woah, a Restricted Level!” Nirvana Inaction was surprised. He stared with eyes wide open at Monica’s busty and icy chests.
Confused Fox scolded loudly, “What the f*ck man. How can you feel lustful towards a monster? I can’t stand this anymore. Heal me. I’m about to die.”
“Snap! Snap!”
Within the short 5 seconds, Li Yi heard around seven to eight camera shutters clicking. What made him feel more surprised was that the sound also came from Confused Fox who had been angrily scolding Nirvana Inaction.
“What a bunch of perverts!” After Rural Flowing Cloud left, the only female healer left in the party felt disgusted.
Monica’s entire body was quickly covered in ice. The dazzling light covered her body parts, causing the team of perverts to sigh as they shook their head.
“Crack!”
Monica raised her hands up high as she cast a Blizzard that covered a huge area.
Small dots soon started appearing on the ground. Mistakes could easily be made if one were to look up and attempt to avoid the incoming ice from above, it was far more effective to dodge by looking at the black dots below.
The first Blizzard passed and all 9 of them evaded it successfully.
“Whoosh…”
A light blue chill covered all 9 of them.
“It’s Starfall! Quick, ram into each other!”
Li Yi was the first one to shout and rammed himself against the only woman healer in the party.
“Quickly!”
The others immediately started reacting and all of them started to charge at the only female player.
The female healer was shocked as she watched 8 men ram into her at the same time…
…
