Chapter 47: This Cat Was a Vixen
Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios
Best Actor Fu promised that his cat wouldn’t do anything to the fish.
In the end, he had to eat his own words.
Chief Editor Zhang’s anger was reasonable, given the fact that her beloved pets had been bullied.
The only issue was that the culprit was Best Actor Fu’s cat. The studio staff all looked at each other nervously, nobody brave enough to speak up.
Wang Youquan had just been chattering away happily with the set coordinator a few seconds ago, until he realized how cold the atmosphere had become. Trembling, he turned to look at Fu Sichen.
What do we do now?
He told Fu Sichen already— this cat was a vixen! He told Fu Sichen not to keep the cat, but Best Actor Fu just kept spoiling him!
Everything was over now. They could say good-bye to this contract. Best Actor Fu was going to lose yet another stream of income.
Wang Youquan quickly seized the opportunity to make a round of apologies to the staff. But before he could say anything, Fu Sichen spoke.
“Pei Pei, come here.”
He was outrightly admitting that he was the owner of the Persian cat!
Pei Zhen nimbly jumped onto the coffee table, before taking another leap into Fu Sichen’s arms, crawling onto his shoulder, and then resting on his head.
His paws were still wet, so the moment he crawled onto Fu Sichen’s head, Fu Sichen’s carefully styled hair was messed up.
The studio staff were all stunned.
“Get down.” Best Actor Fu clicked his tongue lightly; there was no change in his expression. But, his tone carried a measure of fondness. “Good boy.”
Pei Zhen snorted disdainfully, but didn’t refuse Fu Sichen’s order. He awkwardly jumped from Fu Sichen’s head to his shoulder.
Chief Editor Zhang stared wide-eyed at Fu Sichen, “Best Actor Fu, is this your cat?”
Fu Sichen couldn’t resist rubbing the cat’s head before retorting, “You’re scaring my cat.”
Excuse me? Wasn’t his cat was the one who was bullying her fishies?
Chief Editor Zhang was stunned. After she recovered, she felt herself getting more and more angry. She even wanted to curse a few times. Wang Youquan was horrified. He walked up to Fu Sichen and tugged at his sleeves, “Fu Sichen, are you out of your mind?! How can you talk like this to the Chief Editor?! Hurry up and apologize.”
“Why do I need to apologize?” Fu Sichen moved his gaze from Chief Editor Zhang to the fish tank behind her. “Haven’t you realized that the fish are a lot livelier now? Chief Editor Zhang, this is all because of Pei Pei.”
What the f*ck is this man talking about.
The only person in the world who could pull off bullsh*t like this was Fu Sichen.
However, the people in the studio felt like he might actually be telling the truth— the fish looked a lot healthier now.
They were swimming around the tank.
They were even eating fish food.
“Oh no!” Before anyone could say anything, the assistant standing behind Chief Editor Zhang exclaimed, “I forgot to aerate the water!”
Anyone that’s ever owned goldfish knows how important it is to constantly aerate the water.
This is especially true in the summer; goldfish need an extra boost of oxygen during this time, so an aerated tank can determine whether or not a fish lives or dies.
These goldfish were quite lazy normally, so they never really swam around a lot. However, when the oxygen level in the tank started to drop, they started to have difficulty breathing. That was why they lost their appetite and acted lethargic.
“There’s a fine line between life and death.” After Fu Sichen knew the details of the situation, he started praising his Persian cat even more. “If it weren’t for Pei Pei, Chief Editor Zhang’s fish would probably be dead by now.”
Pei Zhen was left aghast at how shameless Fu Sichen could be. Living like this was worse than death!
Even though Chief Editor Zhang was happy that her goldfish were safe and sound, the situation was still rather embarrassing.
Chief Editor Zhang glared at her careless assistant. However, she was both a gracious and flexible person. She didn’t really have a problem with a bit of give-and-take, “Best Actor Fu, I owe you an apology. Your cat really is smart!”
Fu Sichen’s lips curled upwards into a slight smile.
“Oh, actually, this cat is quite handsome.” Chief Editor Zhang looked over Pei Zhen a few times; he was growing on her. “Best Actor Fu, why don’t we do a cover shoot with the both of you?”
“What?” Wang Youquan couldn’t believe his ears, “You want the cat on the cover too?”
Chief Editor Zhang waved her hand in a show of generosity, “Yes. Please don’t act so formal and uptight with me. We do things a bit more casually around here.”
