Chapter 639: Perhaps It’s Not a Bad Thing
Long Sijue scanned the young woman from head to toe. Once he made sure that the blood on her clothes was not hers, he suddenly turned around and threw a punch at Long Xixing.
Long Xixing was checking the wound on his hand, and his guard was down. Long Sijue punched him in the face and he fell to the floor. Long Sijue bent down, dragged him up and threw another punch.
Long Xixing immediately fought back. The two brothers started scuffling in this room that was not very spacious in the first place…
Seeing that, Su Qianxun immediately ran over to Long Lin and held him in her arms. She then dragged him to a corner so that he would not get injured.
To avoid getting hurt, Lan Qingcheng, too, immediately got out of their way and hid in a corner. But Xiao Mingyan, who was in a wheelchair, was not that lucky. Her two sons had knocked down her wheelchair. She fell to the floor. They even stomped on her a few times by accident, and she kept crying out in pain
Lan Qingcheng was startled. She cursed internally. She only thought of herself when she ran for her life and left this old hag there. ‘Hopefully she wouldn’t be mad at me later.’
“The two of you. Stop this instant!” Elder Long heard about the incident and had rushed over. He looked at his grandsons, who were in the midst of a vicious fist fight.
Hearing Elder Long’s voice, Long Xixing and Long Sijue stopped fighting. Both of them took a step back. But their eyes were still filled with rage and hatred.
“Today is my birthday. How dare you fight and make a mess of yourselves!” Elder Long’s voice was very stern.
“What’s going on? The two of you are such a disgrace. How dare you fight on the day of your grandfather’s birthday banquet. You shall be punished!” Long Aotian walked over and scolded his two sons furiously.
By then, a servant and Lan Qingcheng had already helped Xiao Mingyan with her wheelchair. Xiao Mingyan was utterly flustered. Her hair was dishevelled. Her hands were shaking. Her face was very pale.
“Ah Jue, you’re way out of line. I’m your mother. How dare you knock me down!” Xiao Mingyan was incredibly furious.
Long Sijue stood, unmoving. He did not spare her a glance. Instead, his gaze fell on the young woman and the child who were cowering in the corner of the room. Su Qianxun looked at Long Lin anxiously, wanting to find out which part of him had gotten hurt.
“Father, we must not let this slide. They must receive punishment!” Long Aotian glanced at Long Sijue and Su Qianxun sullenly.
“Today is my birthday. Who are you trying to punish?” Elder Long shot a glare at his son angrily.
“Lin’er, come over here.” Elder Long waved at Long Lin, beckoning the child over.
Seeing that, Long Lin immediately threw his arms around Su Qianxun’s leg. He raised his head and gazed at her pleadingly, blinking his big beautiful eyes.
Elder Long was rather surprised. Lin’er was never particularly close with anyone, but he appeared to like this young woman very much.
With complicated emotions in his eyes, he glanced at Long Sijue, who was standing still and fixing his gaze on the young woman and the child.
There was a glint in Old Master Long’s eyes. ‘Perhaps it isn’t a bad thing.
“Young lady, since Lin’er likes you. Do me a favor and look after him for me. The rest of you, go and do what you need to do. Shouldn’t you greet the guests downstairs? This young woman is my guest too. Is that how you treat a guest!?” Unamused, Elder Long glared at the other people in the room.
Right now, Elder Long was still the head of the Long household. When he made a decision, no one would dare to say otherwise. Long Xixing raised his hand and wiped off the blood at the corner of his mouth. Displeased, he darted Su Qianxun a glance and said, “Long Sijue, Qingcheng is your fiancée. She now has a scald on her hand. Shouldn’t you take her away to treat her wound?”
“I think you’re more willing to do that,” Long Sijue replied coldly.
“Father, let’s go greet the guests first,” Long Aotian looked at his father eagerly and said.
“Sijue, take good care of Lin’er.” Elder Long had no time and energy for the drama among these younger people. He left the room with Long Aotian.
