Chapter 837 - Secret of the Forged Death Note
Su Tao received a call from Chen Rui not long after he parted with Wang Xuan. Her voice also sounded anxious, “There’s a problem with the shop!”
Upon hearing about it, Su Tao sighed inwardly. He knew that the Wang Family had finally acted.
Wang Rui’s wife was called Dong Yun. She was nearly in her sixties, but she didn’t even look fifty due to her excellent maintenance. She wore a purple cheongsam today. She did not come alone as she came with several youngsters. Judging from their looks, they clearly came over with ill intentions.
After they entered the Three Flavour Hall, Chen Rui came up and asked, “Is there anything I can help you with?”
“I’m here to find something!” Dong Yun looked haggard. She hadn’t been sleeping since the death of Wang Guofeng, so her mentality wasn’t great.
“What is it? Perhaps I can help you look for it.” Chen Rui said as she gave a signal to a fellow colleague.
Her colleague began to disperse the customers. After all, it would damage the Three Flavour Hall’s reputation if the matters blew up.
“I placed a few funeral wreaths outside a few days ago. I came to take a look and it was gone.” Dong Yun sneered. “Please hand it over.”
Chen Rui had a swift response. But even she was speechless about Dong Yun’s unreasonable words, “So the funeral wreaths came from you? We’re opening a business here, so you’re making things difficult for us if you place funeral wreaths by our doors. We didn’t even pursue you for it, and you’re asking us for it?”
“Lass, you’re pretty sharp-tongued. Will I put funeral wreaths outside your doors if you guys did not cause my son’s death?” Dong Yun was stunned briefly before she raged.
When Dong Yun saw the crowd gathering over, she sobbed, “Everyone come and judge! The owner of this shop forced my son to commit suicide. I’m already close to my sixties, and I still have to send off my son at my age. Do you guys think it’s fair?”
The customers had no idea of the actual story. When they saw Dong Yun sobbing, all of them started to discuss among each other.
“Aunty, you can’t make false accusations. You said that our boss was the reason why your son commited suicide, so do you have any evidence on that?” Chen Rui rebuked when she saw that the crowd wasn’t dispersing.
“Evidence? I naturally have it!” Dong Yun took out a stack of papers from her purse and distributed them out. “This is the death note of my son. It was clearly written that he committed suicide because Su Tao, the owner of this shop. All of you are being cheated. All of you think that he’s a divine physician, but he’s just a vicious executioner.”
The crowd began to feel compassionate as they called out injustice for Dong Yun when they read the death note.
Chen Rui was a woman, and she had never experienced such a scene in her life. Seeing that the crowd was on her side, Dong Yun brawled as she sat on the ground.
Chen Rui was left at a loss by this scene. In the end, her only option was to call Su Tao. After all, Su Tao had told her that she could call him if anything came up.
When Ling Yu came out after he treated his patient because of the commotion, he immediately went over and tried to help Dong Yun up from the ground.
However, Dong Yun ignored his goodwill and cursed, “You’re also a heartless one! Su Tao caused the death of your Senior Brother, and you’re still working for him?! Are your conscience bitten off by a dog? When you just came to Beijing, your Senior Brother had everything planned out for you because he knew that you weren’t familiar with the place. If it’s not for him, do you think that you can become a National Healer?”
Dong Yun twisted the truth in her words, which created a misconception that it was all thanks to Wang Guofeng that Ling Yu could become a National Healer.
Many patients came because of Ling Yu’s title as a National Healer. When they heard Dong Yun’s words, all of them began to hesitate if they should stay behind.
Ling Yu sighed in his heart. Back then when Dong Yun came with the funeral wreaths, he let her off because she was an elder. He had waited for her to vent out all her emotions before he got the funeral wreaths removed.
However, he never expected that Dong Yun would nitpick about the funeral wreaths and started causing trouble here.
“Senior Brother’s death had also left me distressed, and I can understand your pain. But it’s futile for you to make a din here.” Ling Yu persuaded patiently.
“Hmph! Your shop can dream of operating since my son died!” Dong Yun looked at Ling Yu coldly, looking at him like a traitor.
At this moment, the youths who came with Dong Yun started shouting out to the crowd, “Everyone can leave now. This shop won’t stay in operation anymore, and you guys can go somewhere else in the future.”
Seeing that the patients were being chased away, Chen Rui was on the verge of crying. Half of the youths that Dong Yun brought over began to disperse the crowd, while the other half began to smash the shop. The herbs storage suffered the greatest loss with all the glass shattered. All of the herbs were scattered on the ground, and it was impossible to sell them anymore.
There were some staff who wanted to stop them, but it was impossible for them to fight with those youths. In the end, the staff were shoved aside, and some of them even suffered a beating.
Chen Rui had already dialed 110, but the police vehicle only stopped by the door to observe briefly before leaving. Evidently, Dong Yun had used her connections to greet the local police station.
The Wang Family’s Pharmacy was deeply rooted in Beijing for years, and they had a sturdy foundation here. Hence, it wasn’t tough for them to handle the local police station.
“Aunty, you have already smashed the shop, and your anger must have been vented by now.”
Even someone as refined as Ling Yu couldn’t help being furious when he looked at the mess.
“Vented out?” Dong Yun glared at Ling Yu. “I’ll continue to come as long as you guys stay operated!”
“What’s the point in that?” Ling Yu smiled bitterly.
“What’s the point? Since you guys have caused the death of my son, our grudges are absolutely irreconcilable!” Dong Yun raged.
“Make things clear if you’re going to speak. Who killed your son?” A voice came from outside as Su Tao came down from the cab. He was furious when he came in. There weren’t any customers around, and the shop was also trashed.
“You’re Su Tao?” Dong Yun wailed when she recognized Su Tao before she started charging at him.
Knowing that this lady wasn’t easy to deal with, Su Tao was already prepared for that as he dodged her approach.
Dong Yun staggered when she missed Su Tao. She even nearly tripped onto the ground.
“I’m Su Tao!” Su Tao looked around before he continued speaking in a solemn tone, “I think there’s a need for me to tell you the truth. Firstly, there’s something fishy about your son’s death, and it wasn’t certain that he had committed suicide. Secondly, the death note wasn’t written by your son. It might be forged.”
“Stop trying to push the blame away! Do you think that I’ll believe you?” Dong Yun was frozen briefly as she growled.
“I might not have a good relationship with Wang Guofeng, but I know about him well. As a physician, he should know that life is priceless. It’s impossible for him to do something so stupid. Furthermore, there are many doubtful points about his death note. Your son, Wang Guofeng, is a perfectionist, and he might even have obsessive-compulsive disorder. However, there are many mistakes in the death note. His writing style wasn’t smooth, and there are even some mistakes. Just that fact alone was abnormal. People who strive for perfection will pay great attention to the neatness of their words as well as the formality. However, nothing of that was observed in his death note. If he had written this death note willingly, how would a perfectionist like Wang Guofeng leave so make flaws in his death note?”
“You’re twisting the truth!” Dong Yun wavered when she realized that there was a possibility that Wang Guofeng might be murdered.
Because she understood her son well, and she didn’t believe that he would do something so stupid like committing suicide.
Although Su Tao had read through Wang Guofeng’s death note, he was just brushing it through. But Dong Yun had photocopied so many of it, and he could give a deeper analysis on the death note, “Furthermore, there’s also an issue in his handwriting. Physicians would usually use cursive writings when making a prescription. But since this is a death note, he will definitely write it in a formal style. However, the entire death note was written with cursive style. I suspect that someone must have researched and mimicke Wang Guofeng’s handwriting from when he was still a physician.”
Dong Yun was instantly left at a loss when she heard about Su Tao’s confident analysis. At this moment, she had no idea what to say.
Right now, Su Tao was opening her to another possibility about Wang Guofeng’s death. The possibility that Wang Guofeng was murdered and his death note was forged.
And there was no way Dong Yun could point at Su Tao in the nose and roared at him that her son was murdered, and Su Tao was twisting the truth.
After all, committing suicide wasn’t something pleasant to talk about. Everyone would only feel that Wang Guofeng was a coward or he was weak.
Most importantly, Dong Yun had also once suspected if her son was murdered.
Chen Rui felt relieved that Su Tao was able to calm Dong Yun down. She was impressed by the worth Su Tao showed when he appeared in the crucial moment.
At this moment, Dong Yun’s rage had resided. However, she still had her feelings pent up. After all, she had also heard rumors that Su Tao and Wang Guofeng were opponents.
“Don’t try to divert my attention away!”
“Please give me some time. It won’t take long for me to get the truth out.” Su Tao replied. “As of now, please know where the limits are. Don’t make things embarrassing when the truth gets out.”
“Are you trying to threaten me? My son has died, and I can even throw my life away!” Dong Yun sneered.
“Let me show you something!” Su Tao sighed.
Dong Yun looked at Su Tao cautiously in suspicion. She had already been left speechless by Su Tao’s analysis, and she had no idea what to expect right now.
Retrieving a photo from his phone, Su Tao handed it over, “Take a look at the child in this photo.”
When Dong Yun received the phone, she looked at the woman in the photo. The woman had a smile on her face as she carried a newborn in her hand.
Dong Yun’s gaze suddenly fell onto the birthmark on the newborn child’s arm. She had shock in his eyes as Wang Guofeng had a similar birthmark. The birthmark was also in the same position.
As Dong Yun’s lips trembled, she was suddenly opened to another possibility. A possibility that her son might have left a bloodline behind.
“Who is this?” Dong Yun emotionally asked.
“Why should I tell you?” Su Tao took the phone back from Dong Yun with a shrug.
