Physician's Odyssey Chapter 835 - The Candidate Appears

Chapter 835 - The Candidate Appears

After their meal, Su Tao sat in Yun Zun’s office briefly before he left.
It wasn’t because Su Tao was attached to Yue Zun’s office, but Yue Zun didn’t allow Su Tao to leave. Yue Zun introduced over ten National Healers to Su Tao, and Su Tao knew that Yue Zun meant well. He was trying to get Su Tao to merge into the system. So Su Tao couldn’t refuse his offer.
Arriving at the Three Flavour Hall’s branch in Beijing, it was already 3 p.m. and his sudden visit contained some intentions of making a sudden visit. However, the Three Flavour Hall was well tended and Su Tao couldn’t nitpick anything. Ling Yu might be young, but he was from a sect. So he had high quality.
The Medical Dao Sect was strict with their disciples. Although Wang Guofeng was defeated by Su Tao numerous times, it was undeniable that Wang Guofeng was brilliant in his medical skills.
Respecting your opponent was the same as respecting yourself.
Chen Rui had taken up a position equivalent to Xiao Jingjing in Hanzhou City. Back when they were having their company dinner, Su Tao had once stood out for Chen Rui against Gu Yang. Thus, Chen Rui was filled with gratitude for Su Tao. When Chen Rui saw Su Tao making a sudden visit, she immediately guided him to her office.
The office was still the same as before, with several paintings hung on the wall. Though it might not be done by a famous painter, it was still rather skillfully done.
“You’re pretty skillful at it.” Su Tao smiled.
“Is that so? I was just doing it out of boredom.” Chen Rui smiled with her face blushed.
Su Tao was shocked as he looked at her, “I never expect that despite your simple and unadorned brush, it was firm and vigorous. Your writing style resembles an old man, and it was beyond my expectation that a lady like you could produce something of this quality.”
“I’ve been similar to boys since young. Don’t look at my physique for being frail, but I’m actually a masculine woman.” Chen Rui smiled.
Su Tao admired Chen Rui as a person. She seemed weak and frail in the beginning, but you would notice that she was someone with her own opinion after getting to know her. She was a good fit as Ling Yu’s assistant. She was an extrovert, while Ling Yu was an introvert. Their personality matched well.
“Did anything happen recently?” Su Tao asked casually.
Chen Rui hesitated briefly before she replied, “Someone sent a few funeral wreaths yesterday by the door.”
Bad luck was a taboo in business, and the Wang Family had taken it too far.
Knitting his brows, Su Tao sighed, “By the Wang Family?”
“Yeah! But it was already resolved. Manager Ling talked to the other party for a long time yesterday before the wreaths were removed.” Chen Rui replied.
Su Tao never expected that the Wang Family would have such an intense reaction to send funeral wreaths to the Three Flavour Hall. Wasn’t that affecting the Three Flavour Hall’s operation?
“What is it? You can be direct with me.” Su Tao asked after seeing Chen Rui hesitating.
“There are rumors going around saying that you’re the cause of Wang Guofeng’s suicide, and Manager Wang is your accomplice in this matter!” Chen Rui had already restrained herself. The Wang Family spread out that Su Tao was an executioner, who schemed against Wang Guofeng. In the end, Wang Guofeng commited suicide from the humiliation.
As for Ling Yu, he was Su Tao’s pet dog. There were even rumors that the two of them shared a special relationship together.
As an internal staff of the Three Flavour Hall, Chen Rui naturally knew where the source of those rumors came from. Not to mention how Su Tao was straight in his sexual orientation with how many lovers he had, but Su Tao and Ling Yu rarely met. So how could the two of them have anything between them?
However, the curiosity of humans was strong, especially these sorts of rumors. After all, these sorts of rumors would spark people’s imagination.
When footsteps rang out, Ling Yu came in after he was done with his work. He entered in a white coat. Knowing that the two of them had something to discuss, Chen Rui left the office with her head lowered.
“You must be feeling the pressure recently, right?” Su Tao smiled bitterly.
“Don’t worry about that. I have already talked to my Master, and I will stick to the ground firmly. I won’t leave the Three Flavour.” Ling Yu spoke with a righteous expression.
“I have already sent someone to investigate your Senior Brother’s suicide.” Su Tao sighed. “I don’t believe that Wang Guofeng would commit suicide.”
Ling Yu nodded with a light flickering across his eyes, “There’s indeed, something fishy about this matter. He called me five days ago before his death, and persuaded me to develop my career in the Wang Family’s Pharmacy. But I had rejected his offer.”
“The Wang Family is causing trouble for us because they have no idea where to vent their anger. If we can find the truth about Wang Guofeng’s death, I believe that they won’t harass you anymore.” Su Tao smiled. “If you find it vexing, you can take leave for now. Come back after everyone has settled down.”
“It’s fine!” Ling Yu replied firmly. “I don’t have to be afraid of anything since I’m not guilty. Since I’ve not done anything wrong, I will not hide from it.”
Su Tao understood Ling Yu well. Ling Yu might seem gentle and graceful, but he had a firm personality. He was like the weed growing by the cliff. No matter how the wind blew, he would never bow his head.
Taking out a few boxes from his medical box, Su Tao placed it beside Ling Yu and smiled, “Take a look at it for me.”
Opening up the box, Ling Yu took out the plastic within and unsealed it. He poured some powder out of the packaging and dipped his finger in it before tasting it. Shortly after, he nodded his head, “The ratio is pretty good, and it should be effective for the common cold.”
Su Tao knew how attained Ling Yu was when it came to testing medicine.
“We’re submitting it for approval according to the European standards. Once it’s approved, it will be widely available in the country.” Su Tao replied.
“This medicine is way better than the 999 Cold Remedy Granules. Not only can it prevent, but it can also treat. Furthermore, there’s close to no side effects.” Ling Yu nodded his head confidently.
Su Tao smiled when he heard Ling yu’s words. That was Ling Yu, who could form a rapport with him whenever they talked.
As Ling Yu still had to work, Su Tao did not stay for long. Before he left, he reminded Chen Rui that he would be in Beijing for a period of time, and he would come over in the day. But if he wasn’t around, she could look for him if there was any emergency.
Su Tao was mainly worried about the Wang Family.
Now that the Three Flavour Hall had successfully gained a footing in Beijing, they had no competitive relationship with the Wang Family’s Pharmacy.
The Wang Family’s Pharmacy mainly provides high-end service. So it’s impossible for ordinary folks to afford their treatment. On the contrary, the Three Flavour Hall’s business was catered towards the grassroot society. That means that you could enjoy Three Flavour Hall’s service as long as you made an appointment.
There were many ways to make an appointment. You could make a call or through the mobile application. The appointment would only increase daily, which meant that the number of physicians were also increasing.
Their customer traffic had already exceeded a thousand daily. Based on how each patient would pay ¥200 for each consultation, the Three Flavour Hall would make ¥200,000 based on consultation alone. According to Su Tao’s method of distribution, the consultations would all go to the physician in charge, and they wouldn’t take a single dime from it.
Even if the Three Flavour Hall wasn’t receiving enough customers for the month, the Three Flavour Hall still had a base guarantee of ¥5,000.
However, ever since this was introduced, there was no physician who received less than ¥5,000 a month. Because if you’re only taking one patient a day, it would add up to ¥6,000 a month.
Then again, physicians were required to receive twenty patients a day. It was a tough job because Su Tao requested that they were all required to receive their patients well. It was unlike how western medicine doctors would only spend ten minutes or so with their patients, which seemed too casual.
Although the Three Flavour Hall wasn’t making money from consultations, they still earned an astonishment sum of money from the sale of herbs alone.
Herbs in the Three Flavour Hall were cheaper than other pharmacies. Although they did not make a strong request for their patients to buy, the patients weren’t stupid. In addition to the good service, no one was willing to spend more time buying from another pharmacy.
Hence, they still made a huge profit even if they weren’t focusing on the sale of herbs. So the Three Flavour Hall’s total sales figure would go as high as ¥30,000,000. With 15% as their profits, they would make an astonishing figure of ¥50,000,000 a year. Just on the potential alone, it had already exceeded their headquarters in Hanzhou City. In Hanzhou City, the annual profits of the Three Flavour Hall was only about ¥20,000,000.
Then again, it had something to do with the location. In Beijing, patients had more spending power.
Cai Yan had already noticed this fact, and she was planning the second branch in Beijing. At the same time, she was also planning to open a branch in the heart of China’s economy, Yunhai City.
This was the charm of having branches. Once the scale was formed, their profits would increase along with their reputation.
Then again, it was on the prerequisite that they had to ensure the operation of those branches. On this matter, Su Tao had made a decision that Cai Yan couldn’t understand in the beginning. He wanted to give all the proceeds from consultations to the physicians.
However, the effects were great. It was equivalent to giving the physicians a platform to work, while they receive 100% of the proceeds. This method has had a lot of potential to develop on.
When Su Tao returned to Gu Rushan’s home, he took a bath before he gave a video call to Gu Rushan. She was filming a costume drama as she answered the call in her costume. With thick makeup on, she looked a little weird to Su Tao.
Turning the camera angle to the surroundings, Su Tao smiled, “What do you think? I cleaned up your house!”
“Not bad. Oh, I have a new television ordered, which will come tomorrow. Help me out with it, set it in the living room. As for the current one in the living room, move it into the study room.” Gu Rushan made a fawning smile since she had something to ask of Su Tao.
Shaking his head with a bitter smile, Su Tao replied, “Got it! I’m now regretting that I’m using your house. You’re treating me like I’m the owner here.”
“Well, you’re practically half the owner here.” Gu Rushan replied. When she heard her name being called, she immediately lowered her voice, “I have a scene to shoot. I’ll leave everything in your hands!”
When her voice fell, she actually gave Su Tao a flying kiss through the phone.
Looking at her, Su Tao smiled bitterly. This woman was starting to misbehave. Did she really think that she was living the life of a wealthy bossy wife?
Lying on the couch, Su Tao suddenly received a call from Wang Xuan.
“Are you free tonight? Let’s have a meal together. I would like to introduce someone to you.” Wang Xuan smiled as he threw out an invitation to Su Tao.
Su Tao knew that Wang Xuan was going to recommend him to someone capable of facing Qin Jingyu.
