Chapter 67:
Did Kail feel the same way?
When they returned to the living room, Kail hugged Silje tightly. He trapped her in his arms, and quietly he told her his story.
That night, it was just the two of them.
His green eyes were fixed on hers and in his usual gloomy voice, he whispered to her.
“When I was young, I was afraid of lightning and thunder. Whenever there was a rainstorm, my mother would sing a lullaby for me. She would tell me that the big ocean waves were nothing to be afraid of. She would tell me that if I listened carefully, I should be able to hear the Valkyrie’s song through the thunder. She said that nothing bad will happen to good children. Jormungand will only take crying children and that would make me stop crying immediately.”
Kail’s hair was a mess and his body was covered in sweat. He looked down at Silje and whispered, “Do you get it? Like the Jormungand, I am going to wrap myself around your beautiful body and take you. You are my everything.”
Silje moaned. She couldn’t tell if this was real or she was just dreaming. It felt like a giant wave was engulfing her.
Like a snake, he grabbed her and trapped her. He was so strong and there was no escape for her.
“Silje, you are my destiny. In this life, you will be my only one and I will be with you till I die. You are my goddess and you will live forever in my arms.”
As Kail whispered to her, his eyes held her and her only. Silje felt like the mermaid that was reborn in his arms.
Naked in his embrace, she moaned and gasped.
And just like that, she became a woman.
A woman loved by a man.
Silje found the happiness of finding her own soulmate and being treasured by him.
Kail.

The sweet scent of Kail’s lit cigarette filled his bedroom in the Bruntland mansion.
A romantic violin piece by Norwegian composer Christian Sinding was playing.
Kail’s hair was wet from his shower and he was looking out the window while smoking. He looked relaxed and content.
Listening to the music, Kail wondered how long it had been since he felt this peaceful. Everything had changed. He felt more relaxed and safer. After meeting Silje, he found his inner peace.
On top of that, he couldn’t forget the night he spent with her.
“Kail…”
He remembered how Silje softly called his name with her black hair down. Her bare skin against his, Silje’s fragile body warmed his cold heart. She was like a small delicate bird, yet her strength was overwhelming. She burned like a magical fire and when she gave herself to him, he felt…
Kail couldn’t even describe the overwhelming emotion.
He felt like he could do anything for her. He could give up his life for her.
For Silje…
Kail loved her. He wanted to shout out loud for everyone to know how much he loved her. He felt like he was flying in the sky among the white clouds.
Silje was so precious to him. He was immersed in her presence.
Kail was certain that they would spend the rest of their lives together. They would have children as well. His instinct told him that this was the life he was born to live.
He felt truly happy and he smiled.
‘You have changed me and my life, Silje. We will live together. You will be my resting place.’
Suddenly, he heard a noise outside. When he looked down from the window, he noticed his stepmother Ingrid getting out of her car.
She wore a white fur coat and she had platinum blond hair. Kail looked down at her blankly.
He was happy now with Silje, so he didn’t want to think about that woman. The only thing left for him was to live a happy life with Silje. He just had to ignore that horrible woman and focus on his love.
Kail was about to turn away when something stopped him. Ingrid was talking to her chauffeur in a familiar manner. The man was young and tall with blond hair.
Her chauffeur was smiling down at her and as she took out her cigarette, he lit it for her. Kail saw Ingrid’s desire-driven face and at that moment, their eyes locked.
When she spotted her stepson in his room, Ingrid glared at him. Kail also looked down at her coldly before throwing away his cigarette and turning away from the window.
Unfortunately for Kail, Ingrid entered his room a little while later.
“Since when did you develop a habit of spying on people?”
At her sarcastic tone, Kail smirked. He didn’t want to deal with her, so he went to the bench press in his room and started his workout.
Despite being ignored, Ingrid wouldn’t leave the room. Still in her white fur coat, she continued to smoke seductively. Her blood-red nails looked sharp and evil.
When Kail continued to ignore her, Ingrid became annoyed. She said to him, “When an adult is talking to you, you should show your respect by paying attention. This is why people say your mother didn’t teach you any manners. I suppose a prostitute wouldn’t know good manners even if they hit her in the face.”
Kail laughed.
“Well well, were you hoping to have a good time with your driver when you were caught by me? Is that why you are so angry?”
He smiled coldly and turned away from Ingrid as he continued, “Don’t worry. I won’t tell my poor father about you. I just don’t care about what you do anymore. Do you understand what I’m saying? Get lost.”
“Oh? And why would you lose your interest in me? I’m curious.”
Ingrid looked at Kail with disgust. He was doing push-ups in the dark. Sweating and showing off his muscles, Kail looked dangerous.
Suddenly, she noticed the lettering tattoo on his back.
“memini? Latin? Do you even know what it means?”
“You really want to know? Then I will tell you. ‘memento mori’. It means ‘Remember that you will die.'”
He smiled at her coldly and continued, “I remember everything, Ingrid. I remember what you did to me and my mother.”
He laughed out loud.
“I will never forget. Do you understand what I’m saying?”
Ingrid trembled in anger and fear. She sucked on her cigarette and replied heatedly, “You’ve finally lost your mind after seeing that Asian bitch. You bring shame to our family! An Asian bitch! What do you think your father will say when he finds out?”
“Well, if I were you, I would be more worried about how I am going to escape this room right now rather than trying to find out dirt about me.”
Crash!
Without even blinking, Kail threw his silver dumbbell towards Ingrid. She screamed as it hit the glass cabinet that was right beside her. The dumbbell barely missed her.
Glass pieces scattered everywhere, and Ingrid started to back away slowly. Her face was deathly pale.
Kail smiled.
“Goodbye.”
He pushed her out and slammed the door shut.
Ingrid screamed furiously, “You’ll see! I will make sure you never inherit this family business!”
Kail smiled sweetly and went to bed. Alone in his dark room, he whispered the name that was now his soul.
“…Silje.”
Just thinking about her made him feel safe. He wasn’t lonely anymore. Kail wanted to get married as soon as possible. He will marry Silje and with their children, they will live happily ever after.
Kail missed Silje already.
