Dick was just one of her patients. No matter what kind of man he was, he would always be concerned
about his health.
Except for that, he had nothing to do with Dick.
Roderick said, “I’m just warning you. I’m sorry if you don’t like it.”
Theresa looked at Roderick. “Thank you, Dr. Hill. I know you are doing it for my own good, but you
don’t have to worry too much about me. I am not a child.”
Hearing them talk about Dick, Leonard said, “Mom, the gift from Uncle Dick is great.”
They had taken the Lego out of the box just now when they were upstairs.
It was the first time Leonard had seen such a great gift, an out-of-print one at that. It made him very
happy. Roderick glanced at Leonard. The boy didn’t like Charlie while he liked Roderick and Dick. If
Charlie found out about it, he would be pissed off.
Roderick turned to Leonard and said with a sad look, “So, you think Uncle Dick is better than Uncle
Roderick now? I’m so sad. What do you want for your birthday, Leonard? I’ll buy it for you.”
Leonard looked at Roderick and said, “I love you too, Uncle Roderick. Mom, it would be great if Uncle
Dick or Uncle Roderick could be my dad.”
Hearing what Leonard said, everyone burst into laughter. Leonard looked at them seriously, not
knowing why they were laughing.
Cristina watched the scene and said, “Dr. Hill, Leonard is so close to you. Why don’t you and Theresa
be together?”
Theresa reached out her hand and pinched Cristina, who screamed. “Stop talking nonsense!”
“Nonsense?” Cristina said. “I think Dr. Hill is much more reliable than Charlie! Look at Charlie, what
kind of man is he? He’s so annoying.”
Cristina wasn’t there when Charlie tried to take the kids away. If she had been there, she would have
taught him a good lesson.
Theresa sighed. “Leonard is a little kid who doesn’t know any better. How come you’re so childish too?”
Cristina looked at Roderick despite what Theresa said. “Do you agree, Dr. Hill?”
Roderick cleared his throat. “Well, I’m afraid that Theresa won’t like it.”
“Theresa will like it if you agree! Right?” Cristina turned to Theresa.
Theresa said angrily, “I’d like to sew up your mouth!”
Roderick laughed. “Let’s go for a walk this afternoon if you’re free! We can go shopping with the kids.
The festival is coming up. I’d like to buy them some gifts as their uncle and Charlie’s friend.”
Roderick turned to Leonard and Ben. “Is that okay?”
Leonard and Ben nodded. “Sure.”
They had been spending every day at home since the holiday began. They hadn’t gone out for a long
time. Cristina said, “I’m going with you. Theresa, let’s go together!”
Theresa naturally had no problem with it. She looked at Eugene who didn’t say anything. “What about
you, Eugene?”
“I have something to do, so I’m going back after lunch,” Eugene said to Theresa.
Theresa nodded. “Well then, that’s okay!”
After lunch, Theresa helped her father with his acupuncture and went back to her room to find some
clothes for Leonard and Ben.
Cristina got ready. She walked into the room and asked Theresa, “Is it true that Eugene came to see
you?”
Theresa nodded. “Yes. His mother is sick, so he asked me to go and take a look at her.”
“Why did he have to ask you? It’s not like there’s no hospital.” Cristina said disgustedly.
Theresa looked over at her. “You don’t want me to go?”
Cristina shook her head. “I’m not that narrow-minded, am I? It’s fine as long as he pays. I think he’ll pay
you a lot!”
