Hey there guys. Just watched episode 8 and it was okay. Not sure why but the battles didn’t feel that exciting for me.
I still don’t like the design of the Force Hydra. But at least the head doesn’t feel as small as I first thought with teeth showing. Now I know that it didn’t have small heads with thick necks, but what seemed like necks were mostly its mouths. But anyway, the battle with it felt really short, just as it should be. But still, it wasn’t really that satisfying.
I really liked how they showed the beheading. Sure, it wasn’t very graphic and was just a silhouette but at least they kept it as a beheading. Some other shows might have changed it into him just being slashed and dying. And yeah, they didn’t show the blood flowing out of the body, but that’s just a minor detail.
As for how Galford and his troops showed up, it just felt weird. Was that magic, a magic tool, a skill, or something else? I feel like it would have been fine if they were just walking in through the forest. Sure, there might have been some who would have a problem with that idea saying that they would be too loud just walking like that with their armor, but it would have felt more natural than them seeming like they were just standing there the whole time in invisibility.
Oh, and I felt sad that they didn’t show the knights attacking any of the other Elves. It would have helped for Rem’s scene later when she asked for the potions.
And you know, that barrier felt more sci-fi than fantasy for some reason.
As for the battle with Galford, I liked how they showed his Automatic HP Recovery at work, but it felt kind of weird seeing it for (what I think is) the first time and not getting an explanation for it. I tend to be forgetful but they haven’t mentioned it in the show yet, right? And if they have, then it just feels a bit weird not getting the explanation again as the effect happens. But that was pretty much the thought that stood out for me with their battle. Oh, and the cut from how Galford was on the ground looking like he was struggling to get up to him walking back to his forces with no look of injury. That was weird.
For the scene with Sylvie, Diablo’s face before he drank got stuck in my mind for some odd reason. I don’t know why.
And finally, I thought it was strange when I saw Sylvie in the credits until I realized that she had replaced Edelgart.
Well, those were my thoughts on the episode. Now on to the release.
And…it’s just an interlude. And a kind of boring one in my opinion. Maybe because it didn’t really much to do with the current plot. But there hasn’t been enough for a donation part. Oh, I know. Here’s chapter 1 of Ecstas Online, Volume 1. Got that done.
Hmm. But that’s not exactly new content, so I still feel bad about it. Oh, how about this.
It’s just something that I had done out of personal interest that I finished a week or two ago. I haven’t really picked it up, but I was thinking of working on it when I felt like it. Again, I’m not really picking it up so don’t expect a regular release of it, but if I finish up the next chapter of it and no one has picked it up by then, then I’ll post it.
