Chapter 429: Yu Wenhui’s Imagination
Yu Wenhui could hear McAllen’s screams and cries from the path.
She had not walked far. When the voices stopped, she peeked at the path.
She saw McAllen lying on the ground, while the Asian was already gone.
The members of the rugby team quickly pulled McAllen away.
Yu Wenhui was more certain that the Asian must be from an illegal gang.
But was UCLA not known for its safety?
Why would a gang member dare to beat someone up in the college?
…
“Chen, I could hear McAllen’s screams from one building away. Don’t tell me you weren’t involved.” Wright widened her eyes at Chen Zhao, but she was making coffee for him.
“Wright, I was protecting the college’s reputation. I saw that asshole harassing a girl,” Chen Zhao said. “If this happens again, I’ll do the same.”
“What an asshole. I’ll forgive you this time.” Wright placed the cup of coffee before Chen Zhao. “Anyhow, you’re a lecturer here. You should come here more often, even if you’re just here to teach those bastard students a lesson.”
“Why not I become a security guard instead?”
“No, that will be a waste of your knowledge.”
Wright threw a document before Chen Zhao, who picked it up. “What’s this?”
“University Medical Symposium. To put it simply, a paid tour.”
“Where is it?”
“New York.”
Chen Zhao whistled. “When is it?”
“Twentieth.”
“That’s more than two weeks away.” Chen Zhao thought about it. “Can I bring someone with me?”
“The college will only pay for your tickets, accommodation, and food,” Wright answered. “If you’re bringing someone else, you need to pay yourself.”
“Fine. I thought you’ll give me a discount.”
“If you can show the rest how professional UCLA is, I don’t mind paying for you.”
“I would rather keep a low profile.” Chen Zhao smiled.
He was only interested in the paid tour. As for the rest, he was completely unenthusiastic.
“By the way, Mr. Hill Nandes will go with you.”
Bang…
Chen Zhao shrugged. “What’s happening next door? It’s so noisy.”
“Decoration. I plan to expand my office by combining the adjacent room,” Wright said.
“Isn’t your office big enough?”
“Not enough to display my authority as the principal.”
Good…
Chen Zhao nodded. He really liked how Wright would ignore others’ opinions and do what she wanted.
“Well, I gotta go.”
When Chen Zhao left the office, someone ran into him from the back. Then, he felt some liquid being poured onto him.
“Oh, I’m sorry…” A worker was carrying a bucket of red liquid. Chen Zhao did not know what it was, except that it was probably used in the decoration.
Chen Zhao looked at himself and sniffed his arms. It did not smell bad. “What’s this? Can I wash it away?”
“it’s a resin synthetic dye. It’s harmless, but it’s probably difficult to wash away… If it’s on your skin, you’ll need to wash with alcohol.” The worker looked at Chen Zhao awkwardly. “Sir… Maybe I’ll pay you for your shirt.”
“Nah, forget it.” Chen Zhao’s shirt cost at least a few hundred dollars. While it was not that expensive, it should be a lot for a worker.
“Sir… I’m really sorry.”
Chen Zhao left in discontent, while the worker kept apologizing to him.
Just then, Yu Wenhui and her friends walked out of a building. From afar, they could see a person covered in blood walking toward them with a gloomy look.
They immediately froze and watched the person walk past them.
Yu Wenhui’s face paled. Who is he?!
What happened to him, no, what did he do?
He looks uninjured. The blood must be someone else’s…
Did he kill someone?
Just then, a few burly, unkind-looking men appeared, and the man covered in blood left with them.
He’s definitely a gangster… Those burly guys should be his men.
Chen Zhao was displeased. Usually, no matter where he was, he would be dressed up properly and decorously.
After all, he had to meet many special clients. Dressing up too casually might offend them or imbue a sense of distrust.
He could not believe what had just happened in the college.
Fortunately, he met some people from the boxing club. He planned to borrow a shirt from them.
Moreover, they also found some alcohol and removed the red paint from Chen Zhao’s skin.
With a new shirt and the red paint gone, Chen Zhao was much delighted.
When he left the college, he suddenly saw a policewoman sticking a ticket on his car.
And the policeman was none other than Sharan.
“Hey, Sharan, how are you doing?” Chen Zhao glanced at the window with the corner of his eyes. There was no vacant parking space in college, so he could only park it at the space by the roadside.
Sharan looked at Chen Zhao. “What? Are we very close?”
“Why do you sound so unhappy?” Chen Zhao smiled and looked at Sharan.
“Why should I be happy?” Sharan had a cold attitude.
“You just found another chance to give me a ticket. Shouldn’t you be happy?”
“Is this car yours? I remember you had a Ford SUV.”
“It was broken, so I bought a new one.” Chen Zhao removed the ticket. “Keep the ticket, and I’ll ask David to switch you to his team. How about that?”
“I was just switched from his team to traffic department,” Sharan said, her face darkening.
“Why?”
“I don’t want to talk about it.”
“Did you confess to David and was rejected? Hahaha…” Chen Zhao laughed.
Sharan immediately drew her pistol and pointed it at Chen Zhao’s head. “Now I suspect you have contraband items in your car. Lift your hands and lie against the window.”
“What?”
“Do what I said, or I’ll shoot.”
“Fine, I’ll cooperate.” Chen Zhao regretted provoking the madwoman.
Yu Wenhui walked out of the college and saw Chen Zhao again.
She did not know how many times she had seen Chen Zhao already, but her impression of him kept worsening.
As she watched a policewoman point her pistol at Chen Zhao’s head, she thought, Finally he’s arrested. He’s definitely going to jail!
Chen Zhao looked around him and noticed the strange atmosphere.
