Small Town Girl Story Chapter 5

The next day I wake up, I realized that I slept in the guest room, I say my morning prayer and went
back to our room but to my surprise, I did not meet Jack in our room so I decided to take shower and
decide to make breakfast I wonder where he is because today is Saturday, maybe before I finish
breakfast he will come back, but making breakfast is like I don’t know how to describe it because the
smell of the food makes me want to throw up but I manage to make the breakfast because I don’t want
him to come back and not meet any food. After I finish making breakfast, I went to the bathroom to
throw up, I don’t feel like eating anything but I force myself to have a cup of orange juice.

After one hour Jack came back and he seems like he is coming from the gym or running, I greet him
good morning but he did not answer me I decide to leave him maybe he did not hear me or he did not
want to answer me anyway that is his problem like I said earlier I want to be free from stress because
of my baby. Later he came out already freshen up and decides to set the table for him but he did not
say any word, he finishes eating his breakfast and heads back to the bedroom. When I see that he is
out of sight I tried to reply to Annie's text because she is been sending messages to me since the time
Jack comes back. I explain everything to her and she said I should not fight with him because of the
baby, maybe I should leave him for now after some time he will come around, so she said she will go
back next week so I should try and fix a day so that she can see me before she goes back. I said ok
and end the chat because I don’t want Jack to know that I am talking to someone. I talk to my parent
and my Aunt but I didn't mention anything that is happening between me and Jack to them.

During the weekend Jack is ignoring me, so I decide to play along, now I am at work following my daily
routine, I call my friend and told her I will come and visit her on Wednesday because she is going back
on Thursday. As usual, today went by and end well, I am at home just finish preparing dinner and Jack
is in the bathroom.

Now we are in the living room, I decided to break the silence.



"Jack, why are you ignoring me since the time I told you I am pregnant, let's try to figure things out,
running away from the problem does not solve the problem Jack," I said he just sit there looking at me
as if I am speaking in French and he did not understand.

"You are the one that did not understand me, this pregnancy is not what next now, how about our
wedding and the business I am talking to you about how will I cope with all this and baby on the way?"
he said

"You did not tell me before about you getting into business not until the day I told you I am pregnant,
which kind of business is that"

"Yeah, I want it to be successful before I tell you, I will let you the detail at the right time"

"Ok no problem, I have a doctor's appointment in 3 weeks, will you like to accompany me and this time
we will be able to hear the baby's heartbeat? I asked him and he said ok

"Ok, when the date comes let me know," he said and I said thanks to him

I met my friend today, he takes out to eat and we had a nice time, she bought a lot of things for my
baby, she wants to give me some cash to have in case I need some things but I did not collect it, from
her so she use to buy a lot of things for the baby and he manipulates me that she can't return them or
she throws them away, I don't have any choice that to collect it, my friend is from a rich family, but she
never let me feels that we are not from the same background because she told me that she did not
work for the money she is lucky to be born in a rich family.

When I get home I put all that Annie bought for me in the storeroom and went to prepare dinner. As
usual, he did not talk to me much, I think since the time I told him about the pregnancy he becomes
distant from me, all the care I expect from him during pregnancy is not there, he is not even asking how
I am feeling or how is the baby doing.



Today is the doctor's appointment and we are now inside the doctor's office, the doctor asks me a lot of
question and I reply to her, she told me that I should lie down on the bed and removes my blouse from
my belly. She put some gel but the gel is too cold and she runs something like a wand on my stomach
and she shows us the ultrasound picture of the baby on the screen, he or she is so tiny and within a
second we hear the heartbeat and tears welled up in my eyes I looked at Jack face I can see some
smile on his face, after all the necessary things we went back home and to my surprise Jack told me
that I should not prepare dinner that I look tired that he will order take out and ask me what I want, I told
him pancake and waffles. He asks me that waffles and pancakes during dinner and I said yes, that is
what I want to eat and if he can buy it for me, OK and if not, there is no problem, he said I should not
worry that he will get anything I want. After dinner, I take my medicine and went to sleep.
