Rise of Humanity Chapter 660 - Next Year Would Be Your Death Anniversary

On the bridge, the Sword Masters and the other masters immediately raised their guards.
Previously, Zhong Yue stretched out his palm and the two ladies lost control of themselves as they fell right into his palm; this was a technique where Zhong Yue utilized the power of the inner core’s gravitational field and trapped the ladies in the field!
To be able to do this, one had to be extremely familiar with the usage of the power of the extreme state of the Inner Core; while they were confident that they could do execute this move as well, they did not dare to say that they could capture and suppress the two ladies at the same time.
“He does not look as simple as we thought. I suppose every one of these characters that ruled a world for themselves are not easy to be dealt with!”
“He is not weaker than any of us. I wonder if he used the power of his worshippers or his own power… If he merely used his own strength, then he will prove himself a terrifying enemy….” the masters murmured.
Right away, the situation tensed up; the Sword Masters had his flying swords spread around him, the Bell Master’s bell emerged and covered him entirely while totem carvings spread around the surface of the bell.
On the other hand, the Zither Master sat down, her zither appeared in front of her and she had her hands on the zither, the Book Master had scrolls floating in front of him and the followers of the various masters also prepared themselves for a fierce and tough battle ahead!
The red cape around Zhong Yue wove against the wind as he walked on the bridge. As he walked, he emitted a very unique presence; his enemies felt like they saw a presence so high and almighty that dwarfed them effortlessly, and for a split second, they wanted to bow right before
Zhong Yue!
This, was the presence of a king that ruled a world.
Ever since he was crowned the king of this realm, his aura had been altered as time passed and without knowing, he commanded an imperial air.
It was often said that one would slowly gain a bearing befitting their post. At some events, some of these gods would even descend into the mortal world and conquer a country just to become the ruler of that country in order to cultivate such presence.
This was also one way to cultivate, to cultivate the presence of a ruler.
But these gods’ presence was still weaker than Zhong Yue’s as he did not just occupy a country, he conquered an entire realm and rose as the ruler of the realm!
The presence he cultivated was built on the endless skeletons that worshipped him!
Thus, even after running into all sorts of opponents, encountering various events and acquiring vast knowledge, these masters still lost to Zhong Yue mentally for they had not seen someone like Zhong Yue that could actually overwhelm them simply just by his presence!
“Sword Master, this skeleton king captured your followers, don’t you think you should act against him?” The Bell Master said.
This Bell Master bore the appearance of a careless man; he had tussled up hair and acted rudely, not caring much about the details while in truth, he was a cunning and sly man. He couldn't deduce the true power of the Zhong Yue so he wanted to bait the Sword Master into attacking Zhong Yue first so that he could get a first-hand impression.
However, the Sword Master gave him the cold shoulder and he replied, “Did you know that the only reason you couldn't return to your peak form is purely because of how afraid you are? You fear difficulties, and if I’m not wrong, you tried to activate your Six Path Reincarnation in your previous life... So tell me, how did you fail that? Was it because fear consumed you at that time and you feared death?”
The Bell Master choked immediately as the Sword Master’s words were like swords that pierced deep into his heart.
Years ago, he was known as a genius, showered with high hopes that he could break through the bloodline wheel and achieve the Six Path Reincarnation, but to everyone’s disappointment, he had failed in the end.
And he failed because the his fear of death overwhelmed his desire for greatness; once a person started the process of achieving the Six Path Reincarnation, failure at anything would result in the crumbling of both Yuan Shen and the body until that the person was nothing but ash.
Thus, when fear rose within him, he failed and he died.
The Sword Master then raised his head and stared at Zhong Yue who was walking towards them. He then said, “Skeleton King, release my followers this instant!”
Zhong Yue, however, ignored him and continued walking; in his eyes, he saw no one standing in his path, there was no Sword Master, no other masters and not even a single Qi Practitioner, what he saw was only that hole in the sky.
Seventy two years. He had been trapped within this realm for seventy years. He had forgotten what it was like to communicate with other living creatures, and he felt that he had become a skeleton in both the physical and figurative sense.
He was so eager to get out from here, even if it meant his life just to breathe in the fresh air of the outside world.
On the other hand, the expression of the Sword Master darkened upon being ignored while the Zither Master said sweetly, “My skeleton king, we did not come with ill intent, we came as friends… Now my king, you are tired, exhausted and you want to sleep desperately….”
Mang gu—-
Behind Zhong Yue, the Star Toad leapt out from nowhere as it roared, deflecting the power of the Zither Master and sending her flying backwards.
She was called the Zither Master was because she had an extraordinary affinity to instruments and music. With her talent, she could utilize sound waves to the maximum and allowed her to attack without a trace or a sign, making her extremely versatile in hypnotizing and crushing Yuan Shen.
But just as she started to channel her power to hypnotize Zhong Yue, her moves were immediately foiled by Zhong Yue with unrelenting force.
Right away, the pupils of the many masters shrunk and as a sense of danger began to creep up their spines.
With just a roar, the skeleton king had injured the Zither Master; this power was to be feared!
Back then, they did not view Zhong Yue as a serious threat because they thought that he had captured Lady Xiang Si and Lady Hong Dou so easily due to the ladies being caught off guard.
But, the Zither Master was different; as someone well known for her combat prowess, she would definitely stay alert if attacked!
“He is stronger than anyone of us!” The Zither Master said as she frantically retreated to safety and consuming a recovery pill.
Meanwhile, Zhong Yue was already in the front of the many masters, prompting them to go on the defensive.
From the front was the Sword Master, then the Bell Master, the Book Master and finally, the Zither and Picture Master.
They all grave expressions on their face and suddenly, the Sword Master’s swords vanished with a smirk. At the next moment, the swords were already aiming right at Zhong Yue’s forehead.
But Zhong Yue vanished without a sign and the swords all missed their mark.
The Sword Master was surprised greatly and with a shout, he commanded his swords to fly back towards him as he launched them to the side again!
And that was where Zhong Yue reappeared, but before the swords could reach him, Zhong Yue had already stabbed his hand right into the chest and held onto the heart of the Sword Master.
At the side, the Bell Master who reacted in time hurled his bell towards Zhong Yue as he attempted to help the Sword Master.
With a swing, however, Zhong Yue sent the bell flying back towards the Bell Master and the immense power Zhong Yue applied to the bell slammed back into the Bell Master.
But this gave the Sword Master a split second to unbound himself from Zhong Yue’s shackles and swords appeared around him. These swords dove into the void and reappeared again constantly and they clashed with Zhong Yue again and again.
To the dismay of the Sword Master, Zhong Yue easily deflected the swords with just a hand as each time when the swords appeared, Zhong Yue’s attacks were already in position beforehand and he even forced the Sword Master to back off.
The Picture Master on the other hand, raised her brush, drew a line in the air and the space in front of her was sliced apart. Just by drawing a line, the Picture Master unleashed a torrent of rapid tides onto Zhong Yue and the tides interrupted the movements of Zhong Yue.
Suddenly, the tides unleashed onto Zhong Yue exploded and with a groan, the Picture Master was shot backwards as blood started gushing out from her mouth.
At the side, the Bell Master summoned his bell back and his expression changed dramatically when he saw the totem carvings that formed a palm shape left behind by Zhong Yue onto his bell.
He altered the course of his energy, channeling into the totem carvings as he tried to remove Zhong Yue’s totem carvings but they were beyond his comprehension.
With the complicated rules of the totem carvings, the Bell Master was completely occupied as he couldn't lift away the totem carvings for the time being.
“So strong….” murmured the Bell Master.
His eyes twitched and he thought, How is there someone so strong like him in such a lowly realm? I know that he is strong now but he is not even a god yet, if he was a god….
A cold shivered down his spine immediately upon this thought; it was considered as a major defeat to them when the Sword Master almost lost his life even after the Bell and Picture Master tried to save him and they barely fended off Zhong Yue with their combined power.
“Death to those who oppose me!”
A message from Zhong Yue entered the psyche ocean of the masters and in an instant, the message turned into an almighty figure standing so high up that warned them not to stand in his path.
The masters immediately changed glances and they were looking very serious.
In a sudden, the Picture Master said, “Remember what we agreed on when we decided to team up? If we worked together, even a reborn emperor would be killed easily by us and now, I suppose it is time for us to work together.”
The others nodded immediately; the Sword Master’s swords vibrated in lighting speed and as he put his hands onto his bell, the Bell Master said, “We have been fighting each other for such a long time and we have yet to encounter such a foe that would require us to team up. Never thought that we had to do this because of an imbecile from such a puny world….”
“Same here. Never have I thought that we would team up.” The Sword Master answered calmly.
A moment ago, his heart would be crushed by Zhong Yue already if it wasn’t because of the help from the Bell and Picture Master. He might have been very proud but he had to admit that Zhong Yue was not someone he could defeat alone.
“What I’m thinking right now is how many moves are we going to use to defeat him.” The Zither Master said sitting on the side.
The more they talked, the more excited they got and they couldn't help but smile as they showed signs of becoming close friends with each other.
“All of you….”
Zhong Yue’s psyche waved and entered their brains, “Don’t come looking for your end.”
“How dare a skeleton like you speak so proudly? You are just a puny pawn that has no bloodline born in this realm! Enough said, prepare to face your death right now!” Shouted the Book Master with a proud tone against the message of Zhong Yue.
With a shook, Zhong Yue continued his advancement and he said, “It is not my bloodline that is puny but your souls. Get out of my way right now or today the next year will be your death anniversary!”
“Ha! Such big words! Do you think that my bell is not strong enough to kill you!?” The Bell Master replied as he charged right at Zhong Yue!
Behind him, the Zither Master flew into the air; with her zither in her hands, she started playing her soul weapon and danced around, emitting sound waves that turned into deadly weapons against Zhong Yue.
The Book Master on the other hand, opened up his scrolls and countless words and signs flew out from his scrolls before they turned into attacks that could destroy heaven and earth.
