Chapter 106: The Negotiations Begin
Locke took the blue booklet and opened it.
On it was Jacques’ name and photo. On the position row was written — Director of Education!
‘No wonder this guy’s in a good mood today. He even made a personal visit just to check up on why I skipped class.’
‘So he’s finally been promoted, huh!’
“Congratulations, instructor. I mean… director,” Locke said with a smile as he handed the booklet back.
Jacques took a puff of his cigarette and said, “Sigh, the old man has finally vented his anger. He has finally transferred me and Trista back to his side. We’ll meet each other much more often in the future.”
Locke was relieved that Jacques had completely forgotten about the book matter.
“But then again, I have never understood why the old man is on such good terms with you. He’s never bothered by your jokes. Don’t tell me that the two of you are…” Jacques had his suspicions on the matter.
Locke had an annoyed expression on his face. “Don’t make wild guesses! I’m straight as an arrow!”
“Don’t be angry, I’m just joking. Alright! Hurry up and go to the classroom. You broke the school rules on the first day I took office. Was it on purpose?”
Locke hurriedly stuffed the tome into the sofa and said, “Wait for me, we’re heading towards the same direction.”
Indeed, they had to pass by the Director of Education’s office to reach the Diamond Class’ classroom.
“No, I’m going to the principal’s place. I heard that the head of the Frank family is coming soon…”
“Frank?” Locke thought for a while and remembered seeing their vehicles during his trip to the White castle. He asked, “What are they doing here? Do they have business with our academy?”
Jacques said that he would not wait, but he still sat back down on one of Locke’s chairs. “Of course they don’t! The news of Adelaide becoming the sole investor of the school has probably spread. These big families can’t sit still anymore, so they’re probably here to object the decision.”
“Is our academy really that amazing? Why are the big families fighting over our academy?” Locke asked while brushing his teeth.
Hearing this, Jacques sneered. “How would a monster like you understand how difficult it is to nurture a qualified Beastmaster? By having a connection with the academy, these families will gain an unprecedented advantage in hiring our graduates. This opportunity alone is already worth spending a fortune on!”
“Just think about it, Adelaide owns this right all to himself. Do you realize how big of a uproar this will cause to the Holy City?”
Locke put on a thoughtful expression. Upon careful thought, he realized that it was indeed a huge deal.
To his knowledge, even the lowest rank graduates were at least 5-star bronze-tier[1] Beastmasters.
It was already above average within the continent!
In addition, these families had large businesses, and with their resources, it was only natural for them to absorb as many talents as possible.
It was only then that Locke realized the gravity of Adelaide’s decision.
“Sigh, it seems that we’ll be caught in another mess before long…” As Adelaide’s protector, this was the first thought that came to Locke’s mind.
However, he was not very interested in Frank. After washing up, he walked to his classroom.
…
Although he was a guest, Hobrick did not take the initiative to welcome him.
Therefore, he asked Jacques, Diana, and the new Director of Admissions, Trista, to welcome Frank at the gate of the school.
“He’s here…” Diana, who knew the academy like the back of her hand, had a good idea where the guests would approach from.
“Is he here? I don’t hear the sound of a car…” Trista stretched his neck and looked towards the main gate.
Diana stayed silent and pointed at the sky.
A few seconds later, the rotations of a helicopter’s blades could be heard by all three of the directors.
The students who had no classes and were wandering around nearby were also attracted by the eye-catching helicopter.
“This emblem seems to be the emblem of the Frank family!”
“It’s a gold helicopter. It looks awesome!”
“With the White family now out of the picture, the Frank family is undoubtedly the number one family in the Holy City!”
“I heard that the head of the family, Joey, has many experts working under him!”
“And he treats them rather generously as well. I hope I get to work for him once I graduate…”
The first person to get off the helicopter was Clement, who was carrying two knives on his back. After getting off the helicopter, he immediately set up a ladder.
Joey, who was wearing a noble windbreaker, soon appeared in everyone’s sight. He gestured forward in a gentleman-like manner, as if he was allowing someone else to get off first.
The person who came down afterwards had given everyone quite a shock!
“It’s Alice!”
“That’s right, it’s her!”
“She’s dressed really hot… She’s so sexy!”
“What’s the relationship between them?”
The three directors frowned at the sight. They did not know what the Frank family was plotting.
“Long time no see, instructors…” Alice threw a taunting look at the three of them.
As there was quite a distance between them. Joey did not immediately greet Trista and the others. Instead, he walked towards a group of students who were watching him.
“Hello, students. This is my business card. Feel free to contact me once you graduate. As long as you are a student of the academy, I will unconditionally recruit you…”
Looking at the shimmering gold business card in their hands, the students all looked at the gentleman Joey with admiration.
“How generous! This card is made out of pure gold!”
“It’s amazing!”
“I really want to work for the Frank family!”
Joey’s high-profile entrance did not make the students uncomfortable. Instead, they were very fond of him.
At this time, someone spoke from behind him, “Viscount Joey! Please watch your words and actions. The principal has been waiting for a long time. Please follow me!” The person who spoke was the new Director of Education, Jacques.
He was very displeased by Joey’s attempt to buy the students’ hearts the moment he arrived!
“Please don’t be agitated, Mr. Jacques. My master just likes to make friends…” Clement said with a smile.
Something had caught Joey’s eyes, and he immediately walked forward to bow to a person.
“Hello, madam. I’m Joey Frank. May I know your name?”
After introducing himself, Joey attempted to kiss the Director of Security, Diana’s hand!
Diana immediately withdrew her hand. She said coldly, “Please, the principal is waiting for you!”
Although Diana had always dressed herself in office work attire and did not put on any attractive makeup.
However, anyone who had eyes could tell that regardless of whether it was her appearance or figure, she was above Alice!
To the lustful Joey, Diana was an irresistible prey.
Naturally, the one who was most upset at this scene was Alice!
It was not that she had deep feelings for Joey, rather, she was mad that someone had stolen her spotlight!
Noticing Diana’s cold expression, Joey did not say anything more. He turned around, put his arm around Alice’s waist, and followed behind Jacques.
