Kayden stared at her, "Do you truly love him?"
‘‘She never said the word love to me’’ Kayden's eyes turned red.
She was too ruthless towards him.
After parting ways, she didn't give him the slightest chance.
There was no way to contact her, and there was no place to see her.
Her response to his approach and goodwill gestures was complete silence.
As more and more barriers began to come towards him, the gap between his and Anika's relationship
only widened.
Even though it was not his wish, it was as if he had screwed up everything between himself and her
from the wedding day onwards.
Wrong step.
Kayden didn't know what else he could do.
He hired someone to send flowers to Mrs.Stevens every day, but after the first delivery, the flowers
vanished from her view.
He'd waited in the Meyers’ parking lot many times, but all he saw was Anika departing in front of him in
Zac's car.
After the breakup, even every chance to talk to her alone became a luxury.
"Anika, I know I'm wrong. But tell me, what else can I do now?"
Kayden's voice was hoarse as he tightly gripped Anika’'s wrist.
He didn't want to believe that he would remain unforgiven, much less that she had fallen in love with
Zac.
But the expression in her eyes was something he had never seen before.
This knowledge caused him to panic incomparably.
"What exactly are you up to? The only thing you can do now, Kayden, is to stop bothering me.You do
not have to compensate me in any way.All I ask is for you to create a clear line between us.This way,
you might be able to leave a little respect behind while still avoiding embarrassment"
Anika’s cold gaze landed on Kaydens wrist.
She frowned and said in a deep voice, "Let go, don't force me to attack you."
A sight of individuals enjoying their toasts could be seen in the golden and dazzling dinner hall.
Zac stood in the middle of the crowd, holding a wine cup in his hand.
His eyes were calm, and the tailored suit made him look even taller and handsome.
Frederick walked up to him and said, "Sir, it's almost time? Zac nodded and pushed away the cup in
front of him.”
"Sorry, I have to catch a plane tonight.Excuse me."
After saying that, the two of them quickly left the lively banquet.
Zac's footsteps were steady after he left.
He strolled towards a Bentley that was parked not far away, rubbing his bushy brows.
Frederick opened the car door for him.
Just as the man was about to board the car, a figure suddenly appeared in front of Bentley and called
out to him.
"President Zac, I have something to talk to you about"
Lucy wore a thin dress and stood two meters away with her hands clenched tightly.
In order to meet Anika, she had to be Kayleigh's female companion before coming to this banquet.
However, there were too many people surrounding Zac, and the other group departed the dinner hall
before she could find an opportunity.
Lucy could only chase after him.
Zac glanced coldly at her and got into the car.
He simply ignored her.
Frederick looked at Lucy and was about to help the boss close the car door.
Lucy screamed when she realized she was being ignored, "Kayden didn’t think twice about defying his
grandpa for Anika’s sake and refusing to marry her.I doubt you want to be cheated on, do you?"
Zac raised his eyebrows and turned his head sideways.
His emotionless gaze came from the dim car, "Cheated?"
Seeing the man’s reaction, Lucy calmed down.
"Kayden spent the day before yesterday in JH City.He paid a visit to Anika."
She pressed her lips together in an attempt to impress the other person "Have you been concerned
about their relationship for a long time? Or do you believe your short months together can compare to
their 10 years together?"
Lucy could tell Zac regarded Anika differently after suffering two losses in a row.
It was only that she couldn't tell if the disparity was related to a man's self-esteem or whether he had
other feelings for Anika.
Before his grandfather died, he passed a message to Philipp.
Over the past few months, Philipp's attitude was very clear.
He hoped that Kayden would get engaged to her and even let her live in the Jenkins Family.
Lucy was well aware that Kayden was resisting Anika, and she had to put up with Philipp's rage.
Kayden, on the other hand, would ultimately compromise if the two of them couldn't get back together.
Her current reputation was bad.
Whether it was out of emotion or anything else, she could only hold onto Kayden tightly.
Originally, he thought that Kayden's attitude had softened during this period of time.
But a few days ago, he actually went to JH City for Anika.
Lucy didn't want to cause any trouble for Anika, but she didn't seem to be able to get rid of Anika's
shadow no matter what.
Lucy didn’t know if anything would happen to the two of them in JH City.
If not for that, she would not have taken the risk of finding Zac.No matter what, Anika had known
Kayden for almost ten years.
"Ten years?"
Zac chuckled and asked, "What did Kayden do? What does it have to do with her?"
Lucy didn't expect the other party to have such an attitude, so she hesitated for a moment.
The man's eyes were cold and his voice was oppressive.
"I seem to have told you that I am never reasonable’’
"So, don't try to provoke me by asking me to help you get what you want"
Lucy's face turned pale and she was completely stunned by the other party's words.
After leaving the room, Anika called Sara and returned to her hotel room.
She took out her room card and opened the door.
The room was pitch black.
Just as she was about to turn on the ceiling lamp in the corridor, she was suddenly hugged by her waist
and directly pressed against the wall.
The familiar smell of pine wood assaulted her nose.
A passionate kiss plummeted the following second, bringing an overwhelming excitement.
Zac kissed her delicate lips and softly bit them, impatiently intruding into the tangle.
Anika met the man's deep eyes in the dark light, which reflected a faint light that engulfed her like a
bottomless icy pond.
The room was quiet, and his movements didn't stop.
She could even clearly hear the soft sounds of the intimate kisses, creating countless butterflies in her
stomach.
He kissed her so hard that her breathing became a little short and her mind gradually fainted.
Anika pushed him, but the man held her hand and pasted it on the wall behind her, clenching it tightly
with his fingers.
He eventually stopped kissing her lips after a long time and unintentionally pressed the corridor light
switch.
They were both panted heavily, and Zac's hazy eyes echoed her look.
Zac's eyes were drawn to her delicate wrist.
The circle of markings on her wrist became even more visible against the pristine white wall.
"He did it?"
He straightened his lips and wiped away the lipstick traces on Anika’s lips that had faded at the border
of her lips.
He just kissed her.
The corner of Zac's mouth was also printed with Anika’s lipstick.
Anika finally regained her senses and looked into Zac's dark eyes.
She understood that he was ...angry.
The ‘He’ in Zac's words was self-evident.
Although she didn't know how he knew, she still tried to coax him.
"Don't worry, I just..."
Anika paused and thought of a phrase that could calm him down.
"I kicked him hard.’’ Kayden couldn't let go of her since she was so scared, so she could only kick him.
Kayden should be more seriously injured than she is, based on her injuries.
"Oh?"
Zac raised his eyebrows and caught a glimpse of her serious gaze.
He barely curled his lower lip and then dragged his voice to praise her, "Anika, then you're ...quite
powerful."
Seeing him loosen up, Anika smiled and took his hand.
"And what?"
The man glanced at her and waited for her to continue.
Anika leaned her head against his shoulder and said in a light voice, "And I also told him that I love
you.And that you are my husband"
As soon as she finished speaking, he noticed that his body had stiffened.
She looked up at him and saw that the man took out his phone.
A few seconds later, his deep voice rang in her ears, "Say it again."
The expression on his face was calm and gentle.
However, on the eye-catching screen, it appeared that Zac opened his voice recorder.Anika was
speechless as she saw it.
