Chapter 2040 - 2040 Luck, Where Did Big Dipper Go?
2040 Luck, Where Did Big Dipper Go?
Sure enough, after Thor retrieved Mjölnir, he became super brave.
Malekith was generously bombarded with white lightning; even the Big Dipper clone couldn’t step in.
As Luke waited for an opportunity, he couldn’t help but think to himself, I was the one who sent Malekith here. Most of the contribution rate should be mine, right?
He could also get a 10 to 50% share of the experience and credit points from the Avengers and the Bat Squad’s battle with the Dark Elves in Greenwich.!!
So, it should be possible for him to get a total contribution rate of 50%, right?
There was only about a minute left until the final countdown for the Nine Realms to converge. Malekith basically had no chance.
Unexpectedly, the situation changed.
It seemed Malekith had been provoked by Thor, or maybe he knew that he was about to miss his last chance, and he suddenly played a trick.
As he turned in one moment, he lunged at Thor.
Thor subconsciously swung his hammer with all his strength.
The Aether didn’t resist. Instead, the particles formed a sphere, and the attack landed heavily in the center.
On the other side, Malekith turned the Aether particles into streamlined cones and temporarily created a ‘flier.’
The sphere caved in before it suddenly rebounded. It broke past Thor and turned into a black and red afterimage as it aimed at the giant wormhole.
Big Dipper cursed inwardly. He also activated Telekinesis and his thrusters as he chased after Malekith.
At the same time, he drew the longswords from his back with both hands and injected them with the power of faith before he suddenly threw them at the flier formed by the Aether particles.
There were two flashes of light, but the Aether particles didn’t block them head-on.
Two slanting mirrors took shape to deflect the incoming blades so that most of the force was repelled.
Big Dipper’s expression was solemn. This guy had gotten smart!
At the very least, Malekith had learned to use the Aether’s malleability in battle, and he had now upgraded from rough to professional handling of the Aether.
As long as he knew how to use the Aether, there was practically no upper limit to his combat ability — that was the problem with Infinity Stones.
However, it wouldn’t be easy for Malekith to turn the tide.
On Earth, the Avengers and the Bat Squad received a notification.
As Luke gave a two-second countdown, everybody turned their weapons to aim at the giant wormhole. Then, they fired wildly at the same time.
Malekith had barely exited the wormhole, when he crashed into a hail of bullets.
But he really had been forced to improve his control over the Aether when he was facing Thor. He deflected most of the attacks by manipulating the Aether, and charged out of the giant wormhole.
Unfortunately, the latter half of the concentrated gunfire finally affected his charge.
He should’ve been charging straight down to the Convergence point, but was blown to the side.
This desperate charge and focused gunfire all happened as quick as lightning. Before either side could react, the black and red ‘flier’ disappeared.
Everybody was stunned, but Tony reacted quickly. “He fell into a temporary wormhole.”
Everybody was lost for words. Was he jinxed?
By then, Thor had also come out of the giant wormhole. When he didn’t see anyone at the Convergence point, he hurriedly looked around and didn’t forget to roar, “Malekith, come out.”
Everybody was lost for words. Boss Malekith definitely wanted to come out, but who the hell knew where he had been sent.
While everyone had their guards raised, the Nine Realms finally converged, and eight huge wormholes were connected in a straight line.
This situation didn’t last for more than ten seconds, before the eight huge wormholes moved again.
After they left the ‘straight line,’ they quickly shrunk and turned incorporeal. A few seconds later, they completely disappeared.
The Convergence of the Nine Realms was over.
Everybody heaved long sighs of relief before turning around to eliminate the remaining battleships and fighter planes.
Malekith’s order to back him up had finally gotten these army remnants killed.
The moment the Convergence disappeared, only 30% of the Dark Elf troops that had been protecting Malekith were left.
Without anything to worry about, Thor, Tony and Ivan instantly took down the remaining battleships.
The remaining fighter planes had no chance to escape at all. They were pinned down by the Avengers and the Bat Squad, and swallowed up in one go.
20 minutes later, the Avengers and the Bat Squad stood amidst the wreckage near Greenwich and looked at each other.
Tony’s flashy gold and red armor was riddled with damage, but he spun leisurely in the air. “Cheers. We won.”
Most people responded out loud.
Frank, Alice and Angel just smiled.
Ivan gave the tycoon the middle finger and cursed him.
Of course, he didn’t do it on the team channel.
He had cursed too much today. Now that the battle was over, he looked at the system notifications and realized that dozens of his points had been deducted.
It wasn’t worth wasting credit points on a nemesis like Tony.
After everybody cheered, Mindy asked, “Um, where did Big Dipper go?”
The comms fell silent.
A moment later, Joseph, under his ID as Chosen One, said, “He should still be in Asgard. Thor should be able to sort it out. In any case, he can use the Bifrost.”
Everybody was relieved.
Tony found Thor and told him about it.
Thor didn’t think much of it. “Don’t worry, Asgard won’t let outsiders linger for long. Even if I’m not around, Big Dipper will at most be detained and sent back once it’s confirmed that there are no problems.”
Everybody was relieved to hear that, but also gained a deep understanding of Asgard’s pride.
Earth had just helped Asgard destroy its nemesis, the Dark Elves, and Big Dipper had prevented Asgard from being destroyed.
Now, Thor was saying that Big Dipper, the bigshot of the Bat Squad, might be detained before he was repatriated? How arrogant.
Nobody voiced the thought out loud since there indeed shouldn’t be any problems.
Firstly, Knight sent a message to confirm that White Wolf had killed the Kursed warrior.
This was the existence that had killed God-Queen Frigga and Loki.
Asgard’s dignity would take a beating if the Kursed warrior hadn’t been killed.
Secondly, it wasn’t long ago that the Dark Elves attacked Asgard and wreaked havoc, causing a lot of casualties among Asgardian civilians and forcing Thor to leave with Dr. Jane, who had the Aether in her body.
Lastly, after Malekith seized control of the Aether, the first realm he entered was Asgard.
If Big Dipper had arrived just seconds later, other realms might be fine, but a large part of Asgard would definitely have been destroyed.
Putting it this way, from all points of view, Asgard should give Big Dipper some respect.
