Chapter 748: A Brick
“Boss Tang!” Elder Ma called out on the other end of the call.
“You don’t have to be so polite. Oh, right, can I help you with anything?” Tang Hao said.
“I know that you’re a collector of curiosities. I just happened to bump into something strange, so I wanted to show it to you,” Elder Ma said.
Tang Hao was interested. “Oh? What is it, and why is it strange?”
“Don’t laugh when I tell you.”
“I won’t!” Tang Hao said.
“That thing… is a brick, and it’s made of metal. It’s quite heavy and incredibly hard. We’ve tried every drill on it, but we can’t even leave a scratch.
“What’s even stranger, the thing is found in a tomb from the Warring States period. Isn’t that curious?”
Elder Ma said.
“A Warring States tomb?” Tang Hao was surprised.
How would the people in the Warring States period have such amazing metallurgical technology? That was indeed curious.
“Are you sure that it’s from a Warring States tomb?”
“Of course. I’m good friends with the seller, and he wouldn’t lie to me. He’s very sure that it’s from a Warring States tomb. Other than that, he also found a lot of things! However, the brick is the strangest of all,” Elder Ma said confidently.
After a pause, he continued, “That person isn’t from our town. He’s from the north. He came to visit yesterday and brought all the things here. Are you interested in coming over to take a look?”
“Sure! I’ll come over right away!” Tang Hao instantly agreed.
He had to see such a curious thing for himself.
Antique Street was not far away, and he reached there in about ten minutes.
As soon as he entered the store, he saw Elder Ma and a skinny middle-aged man.
That man sized up Tang Hao and frowned, “Ol’ Ma, is that the big boss you were talking about?”
“That’s right! Besides, he’s especially interested in those sorts of things,” Elder Ma said with a smile.
“How should I address you?”
“My surname is Tang!”
“Mr. Tang!” The man walked up and cupped his fists at Tang Hao.
Tang Hao returned the greeting and said, “Where’s the thing?”
“Please come in!”
The man turned his body to the side and gestured at them to step into a room.
When Tang Hao entered the room, he saw a brick placed on a table. It had the dimensions of any ordinary brick.
The brick was completely black, and there seemed to be nothing remarkable about it.
When he touched it, there was nothing special about it.
However, he could sense a faint fluctuation of qi inside. It was not very strong, but it was enough to prove that that thing was not ordinary.
He was not sure whether it was an Artifact because it might just be a piece of material.
“Mr. Tang, that thing is really tough. Even diamond drills can’t put a dent in it, and it’s from the Warring States period. It’s a rare treasure that transcends the era! It’ll be an invaluable item for your collection,” the person said.
Tang Hao carefully inspected it and pondered for a moment, then said, “Name a price!”
The person said, “You’re Ol’ Ma’s friend so I won’t fleece you. Ten million yuan, and that treasure is yours.”
“OK! Ten million it is!” Tang Hao agreed immediately.
After receiving the item, he thanked Elder Ma and returned to his office.
Tang Hao studied the brick for a while.
He felt that it was like an Artifact, but he could not find any talismanic carvings on it. Moreover, he could not recognize what metal it was.
“This is really curious!”
Tang Hao frowned. He thought that the item was even stranger than the mirror.
“Forget it. We’ll figure it out eventually!”
Tang Hao did not lack Artifacts now. He was not in a hurry to figure it out.
In the afternoon, he received a call from Ma Fangfang and rushed to the fish farm.
Two and a half months had passed, and a new batch of Fantasy Fish had matured. Each fish weighed five to six pounds, and there were about thirty thousand of them in total.
Tang Hao surveyed a few ponds and was quite satisfied. He said, “We can sell these now. Prepare another auction! Don’t let the customers wait too long!”
The response to the previous batch of Fantasy Fish was extremely enthusiastic. In the past few months, there had been an endless stream of people from in and out of the country asking for the second batch of fish.
Most of the foreign buyers were the super-rich people who had participated in the auction last time.
Five-colored Fantasy Fish was very rare, so three-colored Fantasy Fish had become the trend.
No banquet would be complete with a few Fantasy Fish.
Ma Fangfang nodded and said, “How shall we split the thirty thousand fish this time?”
“We’ll still offer five thousand for auction. Another five thousand will be for the domestic market, and twenty thousand will be for Magical Kitchen,” Tang Hao answered after thinking for a while.
“Oh!” Ma Fangfang said.
She glanced at Tang Hao and said, “Come to my office! I have something to ask you!”
“Your office here?”
“Yes!”
Ma Fangfang pointed to the five-story building on the side. “When I’m busy, I work here. I’ll only return to the headquarters when I’m free.”
“Let’s go!”
She pursed her lips and smiled brightly at Tang Hao as she grabbed his hand.
Then, she pulled him and walked toward the building.
Tang Hao was slightly surprised and quickly looked around.
“There’s no one here! They’re all resting now!” Ma Fangfang smiled.
She cheerfully pulled him into the building and went into her office on the fifth floor.
She pushed open the door and walked into a spacious room. The furnishings were simple but elegant.
“Come in!”
She led Tang Hao inside.
She slowly closed the door and locked it. Then, she leaned onto it and stared infatuatedly at Tang Hao.
“I miss you so much!”
She hugged Tang Hao gently.
“This is nice!” She murmured after a while, and a bright smile appeared on her face.
“What’s so nice about it?” Tang Hao was stunned.
“I’m your little lover! I don’t expect you to accompany me every day. If you can accompany me like that occasionally, I’ll be very satisfied!” She said.
The two of them made out for a while.
