The Divine Doctor and Stay-at-home Dad Chapter 491 - Acquitted

Chapter 491 Acquitted

Looking at his departing figure, Li Meiyu had a big question in her heart.
“What happened just now? Why was I angry? Could it be that I like him for real?”
“Impossible! Definitely impossible!”
Li Meiyu immediately denied this idea. Although this guy was handsome, he was completely different from Li Meiyu’s impression of Prince Charming.
“I must be angry because I can’t bear to see this guy being unfaithful in love. Yes, that must be it!”
After she found a reasonable justification, she went back to her room with peace of mind.
At the Eastern District Detention Center, Dai Hongbing had been unable to sleep a wink.
After Qin Haodong and the others left, he felt it was impossible for his classmates to save him. However, this classmate he had met for the first time gave him a trustworthy feeling.
He was just an ordinary college student filled with hope when he had arrived. And yet, he had encountered a catastrophe because of a courageous act of righteousness.
He had felt anger and hatred for a moment. However, he was still unable to extinguish the kindness inside of him. Just as he had answered to Qin Haodong before, he would still lend a helping hand if he was to encounter such a situation again.
Unknowingly, the night quietly faded and the morning sun rose in the sky. The golden sunlight shone through the iron bars and into the prison cell like cobwebs.
Suddenly, the iron door of the prison cell was opened from the outside. A prison guard shouted, “Dai Hongbing, come out!”
“Yes!”
Dai Hongbing had adapted to the prison life in the past few days. After he said yes, he immediately walked out through the cell door. He then stretched out his hands and waited to be handcuffed.
The prison guard looked at him, then he smiled and said, “You don’t need to be handcuffed this time. You have been acquitted.”
“What? What did you say?”
Dai Hongbing was completely stunned. He couldn’t believe what he had heard; his hands were still stretched out. He stood there like a stone statue.
“Your case has been thoroughly investigated. You are innocent and have now been acquitted!”
Dai Hongbing grabbed the prison guard’s hand and said as he choked, “You mean, my case has been solved? I was acquitted? Is this true?”
He burst into tears with emotion. They were tears of joy.
Only he knew how much suffering he had endured during that period of time in prison, especially for a person with a pure heart.
At one point, he had wanted to collapse many times and even try to commit suicide. However, he was supported by a belief. Just then, his resistance came to a breaking point and the tears came, thanks to his acquittal.
He became confused all of a sudden. Why was he acquitted just then? Was it because of that classmate from the day before?
“Although I can’t say that good people will always be rewarded, I can guarantee that you will get a fair treatment.”
Qin Haodong’s firm words sounded in his ears.
“Yes! It’s him. It must be him. He’s the one who allowed me to see the light of day. He’s the one who proved my innocence.”
He followed the prison guard out of the detention center. When he walked out the gates, everything felt like a dream.
He was acquitted, which meant he could continue his college dream.
“All of this was granted by him!”
Dai Hongbing muttered, as a strange brilliance flashed across his eyes.
At the Shanghai Medical College, the morning sun rose; its golden rays shone across the campus.
On the training grounds, freshmen dressed in brand-new military uniforms were waiting for the military training to begin with smiles on their faces.
Military training took each class as a basic unit. Students of the Chinese medicine practitioners class also went to the training ground one after another. They gathered in the positions assigned to their classes by the school.
Qin Haodong stepped on the training ground while flanked by two beautiful girls, Li Meiyu and Su Hui. This made him particularly eye-catching.
“Boss, you’re here.” Tian Boguang rushed up as soon as he saw Qin Haodong. He grabbed Qin Haodong by the shoulder and said in his ear, “Boss, you got the two flowers of our class so quickly. You should be called Tian Boguang. The name Flower Thief is more suitable for you.”
“Piss off.”
Qin Haodong punched Tian Boguang on the shoulder, then said to Zhi Fubao who ran over, “Fatty, did you bring Hongbing’s uniform?”
“I did. I have it right here!” said Zhi Fubao as a new set of military uniform was brought up to Qin Haodong.
He was also wearing a military uniform. Even though it was the largest size available, it was still pitifully small for him. It was so tight that it looked as if it had been stolen, and it could burst at any time.
Qin Haodong nodded and said, “Prepare the uniform. When Dai Hongbing arrives later, give it to him right away. Not one person from our 508 dormitory brothers is allowed to be missing.”
Right after he spoke, he heard a sarcastic voice say next to him, “How can a fool in a detention center come? You are dreaming.”
They turned their heads and saw the four people from the 510 dormitory arrive. The one who spoke was Zhang Zhichao.
Zhi Fubao glared at them and said, “What did you say? Say it again if you dare.”
“I dare to say it 10 times, let alone once.” Zhang Zhichao looked mockingly at Zhi Fubao. “Your 508 dormitory is really strange. You are fat, while the arrested one is courageous.
“Nowadays, anyone who sees an old lady would stay far away, yet he dared to go up and help. He was arrested and taken to the detention center because of it. Isn’t he an idiot? Have I wronged him for saying it?”
After he spoke, all the people from the 510 dormitory began to laugh.
Other classmates next to them finally understood why the 508 dormitory was missing one person. It turned out that he had been arrested and taken to the detention center for helping an old lady.
Wang Haiqiang turned his head towards Fang Zhaoping, “Boss, do you think it’s dangerous for our dormitory to live so close to an idiot? What if it lowers our intelligence?”
His voice was very loud. It was obvious that he was mocking Qin Haodong and the others. After he spoke, the four of them laughed again.
“So? Is it that funny?!”
A cold voice sounded next to them.
Qin Haodong scanned the people from the 510 dormitory. His eyes were as cold as a knife.
Zhang Zhichao glanced at Qin Haodong and said with a sneer, “I’m just telling the truth. Is there anything wrong with that?”
“Apologize!”
Qin Haodong glared at Zhang Zhichao.
“Apologize? Are you serious?” Zhang Zhichao said with an exaggerated smile. “Brothers, did you guys hear? He actually wanted me to apologize to an idiot.”
Li Meiyu also became angry just by looking at the faces of those people. However, she knew Qin Haodong’s strength; it would be easy for him to take care of those guys. Therefore, she didn’t say anything and simply watched coldly from the side.
Su Hui saw Miss Zhang Xiaoyan walking over from afar. Fearing that Qin Haodong would suffer, Su Hui grabbed him by the arm and said to Zhang Zhichao and the others, “How can you insult your classmates like that? Hurry up and apologize to Haodong!”
Seeing Su Hui hug Qin Haodong’s arm in front of everyone—with a chest that Fang Zhaoping had often drooled over tightly sticking to him—Fang Zhaoping’s expression turned extremely ugly.
“Brother Haodong?”
This title made Fang Zhaoping’s heart burn with jealousy. Su Hui had always been a goddess in his heart. He had been pursuing her for several years, but she had never given him any face. And just then, she had called the guy ‘Brother Haodong’. She even jumped into another man’s arms.
Seeing the expression on the boss’s face turn ugly, Zhang Zhichao immediately understood what was going on. He said to Su Hui, “This is an issue between men. It has nothing to do with you.”
Su Hui said angrily, “You…”
Qin Haodong pulled her behind him, “That’s right. This is between us men. Let me take care of it.”
“But…”
Su Hui didn’t know what else to day. Li Meiyu pulled her and said, “Su Hui, let Haodong take care of it.”
Qin Haodong took two steps forward and arrived in front of Zhang Zhichao. “You must apologize today. Otherwise, bear the consequences!” Qin Haodong said coldly.
Zhang Zhichao was around 185 centimeters tall. He was also very fit; he looked much stronger than Qin Haodong.
He said with disdain, “I want to see what consequences there will be!”
Fang Zhaoping and the others surrounded them at the same time. Zhi Fubao and Tian Boguang also stood closely behind Qin Haodong.
The atmosphere suddenly became tense. Seeing their tempers become more and more intense, the students next to them came forward one after another to dissuade them.
“Don’t hurt each other. Let’s talk it out if you have something to say. You will be punished for fighting.”
“Military training is about to begin. People will laugh at our Chinese medicine practitioners’ class if a fight breaks out.”
“You must stay calm. Don’t give the instructor a bad impression!”
Qin Haodong stared at Zhang Zhichao and said, “I’m going to say it one last time. Apologize!”
In Zhang Zhichao’s view, Qin Haodong was a timid person. “If you want to fight, then let’s fight. Why drag it out?” Zhang Zhichao said proudly, “Let me tell you, when I fight, I don’t care if my opponent is our class monitor or not.”
Right at that moment, Miss Zhang Xiaoyan quickly walked over.
“What are you guys doing?” Zhang Xiaoyan noticed something wasn’t right, so she rushed over and said while panting, “Why are you fighting when you guys are all classmates? Be reasonable!”
She looked more serious than ever. Her class wanted to fight on the first day of military training. That was definitely not an honorable thing.
Zhang Zhichao spread his arms and said, “Miss Zhang, you can’t blame me. Someone is picking on me…”
Before he had finished speaking, he suddenly saw a big fist appear in front of him. Immediately after, it fiercely smashed onto the bridge of his nose.
A muffled bang sound was heard. Zhang Zhichao stepped back four to five steps repeatedly. Then, he covered his nose as blood flowed out through his fingers. It showed that it had been a heavy punch.
The punch was from Qin Haodong. He withdrew his fist, then looked at Zhang Zhichao and said, “I hit based on whether you are right or wrong. Whether the teacher is present or not has nothing to do with it!”
Domineering! He was too domineering!
Suddenly, everyone became stunned by Qin Haodong. They stared at him dumbfounded.
He dared to punch someone in front of the teacher. The punch was not light, either. Only he would dare to do something like this!
Zhi Fubao was secretly satisfied. If the teacher was not next to him, then he would have rushed up and made a move himself to show the strength of his fat brother.
Opposite them, Zhang Zhichao kept screaming while covering his nose. Fang Zhaoping and the others glared at Qin Haodong.
“Qin Haodong, what right do you have to hit someone? I won’t let you get away with this!”
Fang Zhaoping said as he was about to rush towards Qin Haodong. However, he was stopped by a few students next to him.
Students from other classes also noticed the situation. They turned their curious eyes to watch.
“All of you shut up!”
Zhang Xiaoyan took two steps forward and stood between the two angry people. She said furiously, “What are you guys doing? Do you still have me, your teacher, in your eyes?”
Seeing the angry teacher, Fang Zhaoping quietened down. He didn’t want to fight anymore. However, his eyes were still filled with hostility and anger when he looked at Qin Haodong.
Zhang Zhichao used a large amount of toilet paper to stop his nose from bleeding. He looked at Qin Haodong with eyes full of hatred.
“Tell me, what is going on?” Zhang Xiaoyan rebuked angrily, “Military training is about to start. The instructor is on the way here. If the instructor finds out you guys are fighting before the military training has even begun, what do you think the consequences will be?”…
