Chapter 315 'Helping' the God's Pantheon
"Yeah… we decided to try and attempt a level 80 dungeon." Madison replied while her face was still in the pillow.
"Level 80 dungeon? How did that turn out for you?" Shiro asked as she was generally curious as to how they fared.
"Urggggg….." At the mention of how the dungeon went, the entire party groaned in pain.
"Did… something bad happen?" Shiro asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Shiro, how in the flying hell did you even do one by yourself?! It's insane!" Silvia protested as her voice was hoarse.
During the dungeon run, she had to make sure that her heals were as effective as possible so she would call out the skill name. However, due to the sheer intensity of attacks along with the ridiculous number of enemies, she had to constantly shout out heal.
"Don't talk too much. You've already shouted enough today." Chen Yu reminded.
"Mn…" Nodding her head, Silvia laid her back on the bed.
"As Silvi said, the dungeon was quite tough on her. At one point, Madi even lost her arm and Silvi had to heal it." Lyrica sighed.
"At least everyone is safe right now." Shiro said while checking up on their injuries.
Closing her eyes for a moment, she opened them back up and concentrated on their muscles with her skill analysis.
Seeing that most of the injuries had been healed, Shiro allowed them to rest for the day.
"Shiro, what was that?" Lyrica asked after seeing the circuit patterns in Shiro's pupils' glow slightly.
"What's what?"
"The circuit things in your eyes."
"Oh them? Think of them as a passive skill. When I redirect mana into my eyes, I'll be able to see your muscle composition and see where it's injured." Shiro replied with a smile.
"Is that so? Got it."
Chatting for a little longer, the group went to sleep. The next morning, Shiro had them rest for the day as they needed breaks too.
"So what are you going to do today? Or are you going into a dungeon again?" Lyrica asked while in her pyjamas.
"Not today. I think I'll just be doing some research for now and see what happens." Shiro replied with a smile. Currently, she was just browsing on the laptop to see if anything interesting had happened in the world.
Focusing on the news revolving around the guild and Vericia, Shiro wanted to see if there had been any signs of the person who had bought the corrupted relic.
'There's been a few deaths but none of them matches the effect of the corrupted relic.' She thought to herself.
&123;Maybe the person who won the relic moved to another city?&125; Nimue suggested.
'That could be a possibility. I'll still be keeping an eye out for any signs though since a developed corrupted relic user is such a pain. The sheer amount of versatility, resistances and buffs make them annoying even if they're lower level than their opponent.'
After browsing through everything that happened recently, she glanced at the key and wondered who she should pull in with her.
As there are only 2 spots available for everyone else, she'll have to choose carefully. Her initial idea was to choose Yin and Lisa since they were the highest level. In addition to this, the fact that they were connected by a contract only made it more viable for her as an individual.
However, if she was to think of it as a teammate, the best choices would be Silvia and Madison.
With the way their team is set up, they were a damage focused party. Therefore, she could balance things out a little if she gave Silvia and Madison some upgrades.
Tapping her chin, Shiro glanced at Lyrica and entertained the possibility of letting her take one of the spots.
'Hmm… there will be more opportunities in the future so I'll sit her out on this one.' Shiro shook her head lightly.
"Madi! Silvi!" She called out.
"Sup?" Madison replied while popping her head out of the covers.
"How would you two like to follow me to this place called the Enlightenment zone? It's a place where your skills are refined and condensed. This should increase your power so that you two can heal and tank better." Shiro offered.
"Can't the rest of the party come?" Madison asked curiously.
"Unfortunately I can only bring two people. Since you and Silvi are the only supports on the team, having you get another upgrade will help us out as a whole." Shiro replied with a shake of her head.
"Hmm…." Furrowing her brows, Madison looked towards Lyrica.
"Don't worry about it Madi. Just go. Once you and SIlvi get an upgrade, we'll be able to fight higher level dungeons easier." Lyrica smiled and gestured for them to go.
However, deep down she also wanted to go since this would mean that she could shorten the distance between her and Shiro.
Shiro could naturally detect Lyrica's feeling but she couldn't do much about it. If there were three spaces, she would bring Lyrica 100% of the time. But since there were only two spaces, she had to make sure that it was used wisely for the party.
"So when are we going?" Madison asked.
"We'll probably go tomorrow or something because I want you two to rest properly today." Shiro shook her head.
After talking to the party for a little longer, she made her way to the city centre.
She wanted to see if she could 'help' out the God's Pantheon. After all, she had already helped the Rising Sun. It would be unfair to just help one side and not the other.
&123;I think they'll be more grateful if you didn't help them.&125; Nimue rolled her eyes.
'Nonsense. Everybody likes a bit of help.'
&123;Yeah, just not your kind.&125;
'Who knows, they may be huge M's. Don't judge ok?' Shiro replied with a grin.
Sighing at her reaction, Nimue smiled wearily and could only give a silent prayer to the ones that she'll be 'helping' out today.
Arriving in the city centre, the first thing that Shiro did was to get some high ground so that she could get a general overview. That way, it would be easier to pick out the people from God's Pantheon.
'Found them.' She thought with a smile.
Flickering towards their location, she made a translator and waited patiently for them to talk about anything of worth.
"Serves those Japs right. Haha, you should have seen how furious they were when they were robbed."
"Well they only have numbers. All their members are weak as sh*t. No wonder they lost such a good item. If that was me, I would be able to get it 100% without fail."
"You want to jinx us?"
"No no no,, I don't mean that. But like, what are the chances eh? The branch master is already roaming around the capital looking for the culprit. If they're smart, the culprit wouldn't tempt death by staying in the capital now would they?"
". . . Even so, just be careful."
Listening to what the faction members were talking about, Shiro raised an eyebrow when she realised the branch leader was in the capital and was currently looking for her.
'I wonder how the branch leader is going to find me. ' She wondered to herself. When she took the key, there shouldn't be any traces left behind.
Shaking her head, she continued to trail them since it sounded like they were collecting something important today as well.
Arriving at the auction house once more, Shiro couldn't help but chuckle.
'Same place as yesterday huh? They really have quite the confidence in the auction house.'
Hiding by the alleys, she peaked at the entrance and saw that they were much stricter in terms of letting people in. No ID, no entry. And once you're given entry, you're required to wear a set of wristbands that would track you down.
However, Shiro wasn't too bothered as she quickly attached a small nanobot to their clothes.
Waiting outside the auction house, Shiro made sure to focus on what the bot could see and hear. During the small trip here, she found out how they were planning to stop her just in case so timing was quite important.
They planned to have two packages, one fake and one real. This way, she'll be forced into making a choice on which one she wanted. Though it wouldn't be a problem if she took both packages.
Realising that they've entered a private room, Shiro took this time to quickly adjust her appearance along with her clothes.
Narrowed her eyes and prepared to move the moment they took out the item.
'NOW!'
Dashing into the rift, she arrived in the private room. Just as she exited, the guards jumped towards her but she had a smile.
"Yo~ There's a welcome party today. It's fine though, I won't stay for long. I'm only here for the gift bag." She said with a grin.
Twisting her body, she grabbed both packages and kicked the guards back at the same time. Jumping back into the rift, she quickly left the scene.
". . ."
"F*CK!!!"
