“I’ve only had one serious girlfriend.”
“Then, why didn’t you marry her?” He Xiyan asked again, her confusion growing.
These questions were like an arrow that had left its bow. Once she asked the first question, she couldn’t help but want to find out all the related details. They had known each other for one year and had interacted for a long period of time, from which they gained an understanding of each other’s characters and habits, but she did not know anything about his past relationships.
She was only curious! He was such a good person, so technically speaking, there should be many good women chasing after him. His ex-girlfriend must have been someone much better and more beautiful than her. She didn’t mean to put herself down but she was truly an average person.

“She fell in love with someone else,” he said coldly.

She assumed that his answer would have been something along the lines of how they didn’t have feelings for each other anymore, or how there was a mismatch of character, which were the most common perfunctory reasons for a breakup, but she didn’t expect that he was the party that had been betrayed and hurt.
