Chapter 834: Shengguang’s Boss
Shen Li quickly understood that this was a picture from the menswear collection of G&S that would be showcased during fashion week.
The model had chiseled facial features and a tall and straight figure.
His upper body was not actually completely naked. It was just that the material of the entire black jacket was stiff and specially structured. Only a few parts were covered, so his well-defined abdominal muscles could be seen.
The whole series was based on a theme of contourism. This meant that architectural elements had been incorporated into the design of the clothes. The lines were either sharp or soft which formed extremely exaggerated geometric patterns that perfectly blended with the wearer.
It was actually quite an interesting design, but at first glance, the model did look half-naked.
Lu Huaiyu was sitting next to her when he saw the image out of the corner of his eye and fixed his gaze on her.
Silence.
Shen Li even felt that the space around her seemed to have frozen instantly.
She finally understood why George had kept urging her to read this email. He clearly knew that she was with Lu Huaiyu, so he had deliberately pretended that this was an urgent matter!
Her fingers stiffened slightly, and in her mind, she went over the possible ways to explain this matter to Lu Huaiyu.
…
After a moment, Lu Huaiyu said with a faint smile, “Is he that good-looking?”
Was it worth her staring at it for so long?
Shen Li immediately held her breath.
Lu Huaiyu held himself in a lazy posture and he smiled at her carelessly.
“You can look at it more if you like it that much.”
Shen Li immediately placed her phone on the table and pushed it away from her, as she replied in a righteous tone of voice.
“The person in charge of the menswear collection for G&S is Edmund. I’ve never seen this collection before, nor have I communicated with him. But now, it seems that there’s still a lot of room for improvement.”
Lu Huaiyu raised his eyebrows.
“Oh?”
Shen Li nodded solemnly.
“I’m only in charge of the women’s haute couture collection.”
Deep in thought, Lu Huaiyu’s gaze fell on the phone that Shen Li had abandoned on the table.
“You only looked at it for a short while, yet you’ve already figured out a way in which it can be improved?”
Shen Li stayed silent.
Lu Huaiyu took her phone and pressed the button to turn the screen on.
The screen lit up and the photo appeared again.
Lu Huaiyu looked at it before clicking “Exit.”
The list of files was extensive.
He scrolled down a few times before he finally reached the end.
“Yeah, there’s quite a lot,” he said lazily, “I think that if you only look at one photo, you won’t be able to give an objective evaluation. It’s better to look at more. What do you think?”
Shen Li felt as if she was sitting on pins and needles.
She shook her head seriously.
“No, one is enough to show what the problem is. There’s no need to look at any others.”
“Really?”
“Yes, really.”
Lu Huaiyu placed the phone between the two of them and turned around. Propping his elbow on the table, he raised his eyebrows slightly.
“G&S originated from Bai City. Their runway show has always been the highlight of fashion week. Are you sure you don’t want to look at it again?”
Shen Li did not even glance at her phone.
“What does G&S’ runway show have to do with me?”
At the headquarters of G&S in the Capital, George, who was lounging in his boss’ chair, suddenly sneezed.
“Achoo!”
His secretary, who was checking the schedule, suddenly stopped and looked at him hesitantly.
George rubbed his nose and could not help but mutter,
“I’m being cursed too harshly…”
The assistant could not help but ask, “Are you okay?”
George waved his hand.
“I’m fine, I’m fine. Please continue.”
Lu Huaiyu looked at the little girl in front of him. There was a faint smile on his lips, but he did not say anything, as if he was not disagreeing with what she had said.
He languidly leaned to one side which caused the bathrobe that he was wearing to open slightly and reveal his sturdy and wide chest.
Shen Li reached out to intertwine her fingers with his. At the same time, she leaned over to kiss the side of his face.
Lu Huaiyu lowered his eyes and looked at her.
Shen Li paused to think for a moment before she kissed his lips again.
His thin lips were slightly cold.
However, she could feel the heat emanating from his body very clearly.
She tried hard for a while, but upon seeing that Lu Huaiyu still had no reaction, she decided to give up.
However, just as she was about to retreat, Lu Huaiyu suddenly grabbed her by the waist and held her in his arms.
He looked at her intensely.
Shen Li keenly sensed a hint of danger, as if she was some kind of prey that had been targeted by a hunter, making it hard for her to break free.
At that moment, Lu Huaiyu’s phone rang.
Shen Li immediately jumped out of his arms.
“Second Brother, it’s for you.”
Lu Huaiyu glanced at her, not bothering to see through her little scheme. He just smiled and turned around to get his phone.
It was a call from Yi Bin.
“Second Master, on the day after tomorrow, Shengguang Media–”
Shen Li heard a part of the conversation and immediately guessed that this call was regarding the collaboration between the two companies.
Lu Huaiyu listened for a while.
“The day after tomorrow? No, tell them to change it to tomorrow.”
Yi Bin was stunned.
“Second Master, didn’t you ask for it to be on the day after tomorrow?”
Why the sudden change now?
Lu Huaiyu said, “I have something to do the day after tomorrow.”
Yi Bin hesitated for a moment.
“But the vice president of Shengguang Media will be outstation today and tomorrow. He will only return to the Capital on the day after tomorrow.”
Lu Huaiyu said calmly, “Is he the only person at Shengguang that we can talk to?”
Yi Bin was keenly aware that Second Master Lu did not seem to be in a good mood at the moment.
Most of the matters at Shengguang Media were handled by their vice president even though there was indeed another person above him– The actual president of Shengguang Media.
He said, “Okay, I will go and communicate with them now.”
Lu Huaiyu ended the phone call and went to the fridge to get a bottle of ice water. When he turned around, he saw that Shen Li was thinking about something.
“Ah Li?”
He called.
Shen Li looked up.
“Huh?”
Lu Huaiyu laughed.
“What are you thinking about? You looked so lost in thought.”
Before Shen Li could say anything, Yi Bin called again.
“Second Master.”
His voice sounded troubled.
“Shengguang’s vice president said that their president will be going to Bai City the day after tomorrow, so he doesn’t have the time either.”
Lu Huaiyu tilted his head.
“Where to?”
