87 Friend
“Huh?” Su Tang looked up at her in a daze. Seeing the surprise in her eyes, Shi Man’s lips curled into shallow dimples. “Okay, I’m very willing.”
“Manman, aren’t you very…”
Shi Mu swallowed his words. When she defended Su Tang that day, he could tell that Shi Man would no longer target Su Tang because of Yi Zheng.
Was this another confirmation that his sister really did not have a good impression of Yi Zheng?
At the thought that his sister was no longer sad and jealous of other women, Shi Mu was in a good mood. He smiled brightly and said, “This is the first time Manman has invited her friend to our house to play. If our family finds out, they will definitely be very happy!”
“It’s good that I won’t disturb you.” Su Tang lowered her head shyly, a blush flashing across her face.
The word “friend” fell into her heart, making her savor it repeatedly in joy.
“Take my car later. Don’t squeeze into the bus. Let’s go home for dinner. I’ll call and order seafood now.” Shi Mu was a man of action. He was not willing to wait at all. He took his phone and left the dormitory to arrange dinner.
“Let’s go.” Shi Man looked calm, but her heart was already in turmoil. She had yet to recover from the invitation she blurted out.
She did not like to be too close to others. Friends were undoubtedly a moving weakness for her, but her current life was different from before. Perhaps she could try to accept someone into her life.
Her thoughtful gaze did not leave Su Tang for a moment, making Su Tang blush and nod shyly. “Alright, thank you for making me your good friend.”
“Is there a need to thank me?” Shi Man asked seriously.
She thought that being good friends was the closest relationship between two people who were not related by blood, but she did not know that one had to thank another for being a good friend.
Su Tang was stunned by her question, then shook her head in amusement. “No need. I’m too polite.”
Shi Man smiled and walked out of the dormitory with Su Tang. For the first time, she knew how wonderful it was to have a good friend she could trust.
The two of them sat side by side in the backseat of Shi Mu’s car. Along the way, Shi Mu asked about Su Tang’s situation in detail. After confirming that she really would not pose any threat to his sister, he let down his guard and warmly accepted her.
At the entrance of the practical base and in front of the bus, Shi Jing clenched her fists angrily and watched as Shi Man and the other two got into the car and left.
If not for Fang Han’s lousy idea that caused her to be chased out of the Shi family, the person who could leave with Shi Mu openly would have been her, and not Su Tang, who had no status.
“Jingjing, why do I seem to see Shi Mu and Shi Man leave together? Aren’t you going with them?” Shi Jing’s deskmate looked curious, but she actually leaned towards Shi Jing and asked loudly.
Shi Jing glanced at her without changing her expression and said calmly, “I still have something on tonight. A driver will send me back later.”
“Oh.” She deliberately dragged out the word meaningfully and rolled her eyes at Shi Jing in disdain. She turned around and walked into the bus.
There was quite a commotion here. Many students heard their conversation and looked at Shi Jing strangely.
The reason they accepted Shi Jing was all because of her relationship with Shi Mu. However, if her status in the Shi family was insignificant, there was no need for them to coax her and play with her.
Of course, Shi Jing knew what they were thinking. She had to do her utmost to maintain her expression of indifference. She raised her head proudly and walked into the bus to find an empty seat to sit down. Sitting beside her was a little girl with a baby face.
The young lady’s name was Bai Yao. Due to her delicate appearance, she had always been quite popular in class. Many boys would more or less favor her.
She lifted the hair at her temples and turned to look at the frustrated Shi Jing with a faint smile. “Sister Jingjing, you’ll become old and ugly if you keep frowning. My mother said so.”
The Bai family was considered an elite family in G City. Their strength was average. Although they were not the richest family like the Shi family, they were still a family that did not lack money to spend. The daughter they raised was fair and tender, and she looked like an innocent little princess.
The little princess spoke to her seriously, making it difficult for Shi Jing to vent her anger on her. She could only swallow her anger and say perfunctorily, “I understand. I’ll be careful.”
“You’re really obedient. Fortunately, you learned to be smarter this time.” Bai Yao leaned closer to Shi Jing and said slowly in a voice that only the two of them could hear, “Otherwise, Fang Han wouldn’t be the only one who got into trouble.”
Shi Jing widened her eyes in shock and looked at her. She saw Bai Yao smiling innocently. She retreated a little and tilted her head to look at her. “Am I right, Sister Shi Jing?”
