Chapter 73 - That Stupid Vampire is my Old Gong (20)
TL: Moonlit
“Is that so?” Bai Yu looked at the person in front of him with a smile that wasn’t quite a smile, his eyes filled with ambiguous emotions.
Seeing Bai Yu’s interest, Mo Yun became excited all of a sudden. Having Bai Yu on his side voluntarily would be the best option. It would give him unexpected leverage, considering how much Shi Yunyi cared for Bai Yu, a level that even surpassed Mo Yun’s imagination.
Mo Yun was shocked when he saw Shi Yunyi desperately trying to please Bai Yu just now.
He couldn’t believe Bai Yu could drive Shi Yunyi away like that, and the image of it was still hard for him to digest, leaving him stunned.
Bai Yu’s way of speaking to Shi Yunyi was beyond Mo Yun’s comprehension. Yet, what was more surprising was that Shi Yunyi listened to him obediently.
Who was he?
He was Shi Yunyi!
Their king!
Mo Yun felt a unique excitement in his voice. “Of course. As long as you follow me tonight, I’ll take care of the rest.”
To make sure Bai Yu believed him, Mo Yun deliberately lowered his voice and said, “I have a method that can put Shi Yunyi in a life-threatening situation. If you come with me, once Shi Yunyi dies, I’ll grant you freedom and endless glory and wealth. Of course, if you don’t come with me, things might not be as easy for you later. I might even make both of you perish together.”
Mo Yun used both kindness and intimidation in his words, making sure Bai Yu wouldn’t refuse.
After all, Mo Yun had already noticed how much Bai Yu loathed Shi Yunyi, which was evident in his actions.
Mo Yun confidently said, “You aren’t afraid that I’ll immediately tell Shi Yunyi what you just said?”
“Of course not,” Mo Yun replied with a smirk. “Because I know how much you dislike him.”
Bai Yu lowered his eyes without saying anything, and Xiao Mihu interrupted, “[This guy is so stupid! How could our host betray the villain? The host loves the villain and wouldn’t hate him. Isn’t that right, host?]”
Before the voice finished, Bai Yu’s voice suddenly spoke up, “Alright, I agree.”
Xiao Mihu was taken aback, “[H-host… What’s going on? Why did you agree?]”
Bai Yu’s response was like doomsday for Xiao Mihu. It panicked and cried out, “[No, no, no! The host, are you planning to murder your husband? The host even has a child with the villain in the previous world. How can you help others deal with the villain?]”
Xiao Mihu wailed, but Bai Yu couldn’t bear it anymore, “Enough! Shut up!”
“Alright, don’t worry. I have my own plans,” Bai Yu said to Xiao Mihu.
—
Hearing Bai Yu’s agreement, Mo Yun’s excitement surged. “That’s great! With your help, I don’t believe Shi Yunyi will survive this time!”
“Since that’s the case,” Bai Yu lifted his gaze, staring fixedly at Mo Yun. “Tell me, what is your method to put Shi Yunyi in a life-threatening situation? I need to know if you have enough confidence. If you fail, it means I will die alongside you.”
Mo Yun smiled, knowing that he needed to provide some assurance for Bai Yu to trust him. He leaned in close to Bai Yu’s ear and whispered, “Have you heard of Pope Worcester? He has similar strength to Shi Yunyi. I can’t explain the specifics now. Meet me in the garden behind the castle at 3 a.m., and I’ll take you away. We can discuss everything on the way.”
After saying this, Mo Yun walked confidently toward the door, casting a glance at Shi Yunyi standing at the entrance. A smirk appeared on his face, overwhelmed with excitement.
Killing Shi Yunyi!
That had been Mo Yun’s dream for centuries.
He had been oppressed by this person for far too long, to the point where he was losing hope. But now, there seemed to be a glimmer of hope.
As a vampire with an extended lifespan, Mo Yun had achieved numerous goals in this world. And now, even his biggest goal was about to be realized.
Mo Yun couldn’t help but laugh.
His wings flapped open as he soared into the sky.
Shi Yunyi furrowed his brows, standing by the door with his hands crossed. His silver hair cascaded down, reaching all the way to his ankles.
He didn’t enter the room.
Normally, Shi Yunyi would have eagerly gone inside and continued to pester Bai Yu. But now, he silently stood there without a trace of emotion on his face.
No one knew what he was thinking.
The boundless moonlight gently illuminated his face, revealing a beautiful countenance filled with infinite sorrow.
Mo Yun didn’t know that every word he and Bai Yu spoke had been heard by Shi Yunyi.
Shi Yunyi was the king of all vampires, possessing abilities beyond imagination.
The reason he chose to leave just now wasn’t solely because he was afraid of Bai Yu.
Perhaps being afraid of upsetting Bai Yu is one aspect, but there’s another reason as well. Even if he leaves the room, he can still hear what Mo Yun wants to say to Bai Yu…
In fact, he can hear Mo Yun even when he lowers his voice.
After all, this place is his territory…
He had already set up a sound transmission barrier in this room long ago.
Shi Yunyi stood there despondently, lowering his head slightly.
Originally, Bai Yu already despised him, enough to wish for his death…
Shi Yunyi lowered his gaze, his eyes filled with indescribable sadness, looking like a large abandoned dog.
In the past, he had always said he wanted Bai Yu to be his pet. However, when facing Bai Yu, he was the one who seemed more like a pet.
Shi Yunyi took a deep breath and then pretended as if nothing had happened, walking into the room.
“Xiao Yu, are you hungry? I’ll have them bring food for you.”
As a vampire, Shi Yunyi didn’t eat human food. This included the food of the others in the castle; he didn’t eat any of it.
All this food was specially prepared by the best human chefs he could find, just for Bai Yu.
He always wanted to do his best for Bai Yu.
While he spoke, Shi Yunyi instructed his subordinates to prepare food for Bai Yu.
The meal was exceptionally rich.
The five-meter-long table was densely packed with all kinds of food, a wide variety of dishes.
“Shi Yunyi, do you think I can eat all of this?”
Bai Yu looked at the person in front of him helplessly, as if the moment he had asked him to leave the room, he suddenly turned into this exceptionally low-spirited appearance.
Now, who knows what he wants to do? He brought so many dishes for just one meal.
“Xiao Yu, I don’t know what you like the most, so I had them prepare everything.”
Shi Yunyi looked somewhat eager to please Bai Yu. He knew that Bai Yu might leave, and he wanted to try and keep Bai Yu before he left.
Not just with food, but even at night, he shamelessly crawled into Bai Yu’s bed.
“Xiao Yu, can I hold you? Is that okay?”
Shi Yunyi held Bai Yu tightly, embracing him in his arms.
His lips lightly brushed against Bai Yu’s, his eyes filled with pleading.
Although he was acting shamelessly, Shi Yunyi had a pitiful look on his face.
He left Bai Yu at a loss for words.
Bai Yu ignored Shi Yunyi and closed his eyes to sleep.
Time passed by, second by second…
2:50 AM.
Bai Yu opened his eyes.
He gently removed Shi Yunyi’s arms from around him and silently walked outside.
Shi Yunyi also opened his eyes and watched him like this, watching him step by step as he left.
His heart felt like it was about to tear apart from the pain.
He really hoped that Bai Yu wouldn’t leave, but Bai Yu still went away…
Shi Yunyi tossed and turned on the bed, his heart filled with the pain of Bai Yu wanting to leave him.
Had he gone too far, making Bai Yu completely disappointed in him?
Actually, he had never feared death.
Before meeting Bai Yu, he was tired of living the same life for thousands of years.
The war with Worcester seemed grand, but it was just two jaded fellows seeking excitement.
After all, he had lived for too long, and even if he died, it wouldn’t be a big deal.
Now that Bai Yu wanted his life, what did it matter?
Without Bai Yu, Shi Yunyi had no idea how he would live in the future.
When Bai Yu attempted suicide before, Shi Yunyi completely fell apart.
So, if he could die by Bai Yu’s hand and make Bai Yu happy, he thought it wouldn’t be a bad thing either.
However, that guy Mo Yun, would he harm Bai Yu?
Shi Yunyi sat up on the bed and couldn’t resist. He followed in the direction where Bai Yu had gone.
Shi Yunyi hid behind a tree, listening to the conversation between the two in front.
Mo Yun appeared arrogant and unruly.
“How about it, Bai Yu? Let me take you away.”
As he spoke, he forcefully grabbed Bai Yu’s wrist.
“Wait for a moment.” Bai Yu smiled and looked at him, showing a calm and composed expression.
“First, tell me how you plan to deal with Shi Yunyi?”
Mo Yun furrowed his brow and said, “Bai Yu, I have already found the location where Worcester is sealed. When I rescue him, I will use you to threaten Shi Yunyi. With you there, Shi Yunyi will be distracted… But don’t worry, I won’t let Worcester harm you. Once Shi Yunyi is dead, you will be free.”
“So, the root of the problem lies with me.”
“Yes, it’s you!”
Listening to their conversation, Shi Yunyi stood behind the tree and wore a bitter smile.
He knew Mo Yun was right.
Even if he knew Bai Yu wanted to kill him, he would still choose to save Bai Yu.
Shi Yunyi gritted his teeth and couldn’t bear to look at Bai Yu again.
He leaned against the tree, feeling the pain in his heart as if it were being cut by a knife.
His heart was already cut into pieces, dripping with blood.
—
Bai Yu was originally worried that Mo Yun might have some special method to put Shi Yunyi in a life-threatening situation.
That’s why he took the risk to come and test it out.
But he didn’t expect Mo Yun to be so confident, just wanting to use him to restrain Shi Yunyi.
Bai Yu smiled and withdrew his hand from Mo Yun’s grip.
“Sorry, I’m not going. I think it’s better to stay here.”
“What did you say?”
Not only Mo Yun was shocked, but so was Shi Yunyi.
The sudden turn of events made Shi Yunyi’s heart beat incessantly.
So, Bai Yu isn’t leaving?
Then Shi Yunyi heard Bai Yu’s voice ringing out.
“Shi Yunyi, did you hear what he said? If you don’t want to die, why don’t you come and protect me?”
