Chapter 314: Jing Ni
Gao Jing and Gao Da asked in the same even tone, “Do you need help?”
“Not at the moment,” I said firmly. Neither of them spoke or hung up.
I knew what they were after, so I sighed. “Fine, you win. When I figure out what to do next, I’ll let you know as soon as possible, okay?”
“Understood.”
“Alright.”!!
The two of them said at the same time.
Then, they hung up.
I looked at Su Qian and Su Shen, “We need to find out Shi Li’s location and his background.” They nodded. This was my expertise. The three of us sat down and divided the work.
However, before I could set up my triangulation software, Su Qian suddenly exclaimed, “Nanxing, get on the darknet now!”
I quickly opened my browser. The picture that appeared shocked me.
“Jing Ni?” Jing Ni’s Id and various identification were placed on the front page of the darknet. An audio recording was attached at the bottom.
“My name is Jing Ni. I almost died because of Shi Feng. I planned to seek justice for myself. It was me who exposed everything about Shi Feng on the internet. I was the one who revealed Shi Corporation’s shady practices to the public.
“If you want to find the right person to persecute, I am right here. If you want revenge, come and get me. I am in disbelief that the head of the Seven Brothers can’t even locate my trace. You went to find trouble with Mrs. Mai and then Sky City’s Sister Xing like a headless chicken. This is laughable. It looks like the Seven Brothers are nothing more than a scary name.” The video ended with a mocking laughter.
I froze.
“Jing Ni has lost her mind!” I shouted as I rushed out. Jing Ni, you idiot! Are you crazy?
I ran and called Brother Xiao Jing. “Send people to protect Jing Ni!”
They have to protect Jing Ni, they have to!
Su Qian stepped on the accelerator. Su Qian asked, “Where are we going to find Jing Ni?”
That’s right. Where is Jing Ni? She wouldn’t be at home. She wouldn’t put her mother in danger. Then where else could she be?
“The university!” I told Su Qian. Su Qian turned the steering wheel and rushed to the university. The scenery outside rushed by, and my brain spun.
“Su Qian, wait! Go to Jing Ni’s home!” I suddenly said.
Su Qian was startled before she obliged. She changed lanes and raced to Jing Ni’s home.
Su Shen frowned. “Nanxing, do you think Jing Ni is at home? I don’t think she’ll be there because of her mother. She will not bring danger to her family. She cares too much about her mother.”
“You’re an assassin hired by the Shi family to take down Jing Ni. You don’t know Jing Ni’s connection to her mother. Where will you go to find her?” I asked.
Su Shen sucked in a breath. “Her home.”
I knew Su Qing and Su Qian’s original identities. Therefore, I was not surprised that they came to the answer easily. However, they had been by my side for too long. The contentment of daily life had dulled their minds too.
I called Sister Kong. “Sister Kong, this is Nanxing. Did Auntie Lan have any guests today?”
Sister Kong was happy to hear from me. “Yes, the Jing family’s third madam came over this morning. Madam took a fancy to her. They are now cooking in the kitchen. They said they would prepare a fabulous meal for you. Miss Nanxing, you and Miss Jing Ni are coming for dinner, right?”
“Of course, Sister Kong,” I answered mechanically. My heart was cold. I got it right. Jing Ni had sent Auntie Bai Rui away because she knew Jing Tian would look after her mother.
I covered my face with frustration. Tears slipped through my fingers.
