Chapter 1601 Chapter 1584: Her Name
Wei Wuyin felt the natural breath enter his lungs, free of the taint and vile of Hell, allowing him to understand, cherish, and relish in the fact that he had returned. Within his arms was a slumbering beauty that was no longer as picturesque as perfection itself, yet complete in body, soul, and mind. The discord of yin-yang imbalance had been thoroughly solved.
She rested with Wei Wuyin's Yang Source implanted as her own, perfectly melded within her. However, some innate characteristics pertaining to Wei Wuyin's genetic information had been replicated to adjust. Her hair was as black as his, only differentiated by the heavenly gold highlights that glimmered in the solar light. Her beauty was deeply feminine, from body to face, almost as unrivaled and unearthly as Wei Wuyin's.
She wasn't inferior to Na Xinyi at all, and slightly inferior to Yue Songli in terms of body, but that inferiority was only when size was considered, but when it came to its shape and the accentuating of her feminine figure, down to her hips to her waist, her breasts were worthy to be termed: "Sculpted by the gods."
In a way, the heavens had indeed sculpted her body, and only the faint alterations of Wei Wuyin's yang element were enough to give her a unique presence. Unbeknownst to Wei Wuyin and Young Master Shang, yin-aligned and yang-aligned Shards of Heaven were essentially identical clones with very, very slight differences in temperament based on their place of birth.
This Shard of Heaven was no longer a carbon copy of anyone, the first of her kind, and this added a unique quality to her.
Holding her, Wei Wuyin thoughtfully stared at her unearthly visage of exceeding nigh-perfect beauty. Any sensible man would feel heated emotions at a mere glance, but both of Wei Wuyin's minds was not focused on her in the slightest.
[RIGHT ARM]
Karmic Luck Value: 167,824.2.
First Calamity: Survived - 7/7.
Second Calamity: Claimed - 1/1.
Third Calamity: Claimed - 3/3.
Fourth Calamity: Suppressed - 1 Year.
His bloodline of sin's tattoo on his right arm remained unchanged despite his recent challenges. However, his left arm was undergoing numerous changes. Not even he hadn't expected to shift through the first three calamities in one go.
[LEFT ARM]
Karmic Luck Value: 0 ??? 74,740.
First Calamity: Claimed - 7/7.
Second Calamity: Claimed - 1/1.
Third Calamity: Claimed - 3/3.
Fourth Calamity: Suppressed - 1 Year.
'74,740? Is that the total karmic gain from claiming all three calamities? Interesting.' Wei Wuyin calculated the rough estimate for each, and deduced based on his past rewards that claiming the first calamity was valued at 4,900 Karmic Luck Value, the second calamity at 15,600, and the third calamity was 54,240. The Karmic Luck Value seemed to have been rounded up slightly as well.
'The two tattoos synchronized, and this synchronization caused me to simultaneously undergo each calamity that I had before. I wonder what's the logic or principle behind that response. Was it due to the Calamities of Hell link to my True Soul? The Bloodline of Sin? Will I take the trial twice each time or will it be shared? Hm. There's a potential that failing a calamity once might not...' As he thought more about the potential possibilities of having two Primordial Seeds of Sin, one for the Sin of Pride and the other from the Sin of Lust, he found himself feeling a burrowing sensation from a close gaze.
Young Master Shang stared unblinkingly at him with utter disbelief. Wei Wuyin carried the Shard of Heaven and his yang aura was stable despite just ripping it out of him and transplanting it into the newborn woman. The more he interacted with Wei Wuyin, the greater the irregularities and abnormalities became.
The sheer resolve to rip out your Yang Source was far from sane, and considerably more horrific than severing one's Yang Root for a man, and no less painful than having one's skin flayed and dipped in salt and acid, their nerve endings fully exposed. This was the description that he had read, far from just normal castration. This was largely due to how deeply rooted one's Yang Source was to the physical body.
Tuo Bihan's eyes slowly regained their light of awareness. When he returned to his senses, he witnessed Wei Wuyin holding a galaxy-sundering beauty, but he wasn't too enthralled as earlier, and this woman looked noticeably different than her original form that was of pure yin.
If her earlier form was womanly perfection realized, then this form was simply the near-highest realm of mortal beauty. The difference was hard to describe but impossible to compare. Moreover, whenever he looked at her, an irresistible sensation of familiarity and unshakeable respect swelled within his heart and mind. It was only inferior to his respect for Wei Wuyin.
Tuo Bihan didn't speak. He realized that Wei Wuyin had stimulated his Mental Incantation, the Neo-Dawn Visualization Method, and sent him into a lapse of mental awareness. It wasn't harmful in the slightest and likely was a needed response. Unbeknownst to Tuo Bihan, the act had saved him from developing a lifelong obsession. As a mortal, there were things in this world that could easily distort the soul, and the beauty of a pure yin being born with heaven's aura could outright define a person's existence.
Those with unique psyche protections or strong mental strength such as Young Master Shang and Wei Wuyin were unaffected by the event, but not even most Ascended beings would be spared from developing a soul-ensnaring obsession.
Wei Wuyin cautiously adjusted the young woman's resting position, allowing her head to rest more comfortably on his shoulder as her soft breathing came out like soul-stirring music. He moved his gaze to the golden lake that had been transformed by the perfect Impartation of the Heaven's phenomenon.
"That's no doubt a rare form of heavenly water that was no less valuable than Mystic-Soul material," Young Master Shang finally got his bearings as he voiced toward the golden lake. It was blessed by an extreme amount of natural heavenly aura, and this could be useful in many things, most suitable for concocting products or cultivating the Laws. Additionally, it was abnormally yin-aligned, making it extremely suitable for those who cultivated Yin Methods such as Na Xinyi.
"I'll call it Heaven-Yin Liquid Gold," Wei Wuyin announced. The entire lake distorted and vanished in the blink of an eye, leaving behind a large gaping hole that stretched almost to the world's planetary core. With a gentle stomp, the chasm-like hole rapidly filled with newly created earth generated by his Alpha Origin Starforce, instilled with permanence. This would still be a blessed ground for cultivation, but now more suited for earth-attributed cultivators, especially at the level of the Astral Core Realm.
Young Master Shang nor Tuo Bihan was shocked by this display. For those at the Star Core Phase, the Ninth Stage of the Astral Core Realm, creating planets was a simple matter of energy investment, let alone filling a gaping hole within such a small area.
"You both did a good job," Wei Wuyin said to Tuo Bihan and Young Master Shang. The former smiled excitedly. This was a sign that Wei Wuyin was bound to reward him exceptionally well. The Ascendants were all given a standard stipend based on their internal rankings and position, with those who served Wei Wuyin directly or were Prime Ascendants and Valkyries receiving a higher stipend, but even these weren't equal as all things could be gathered with achievements and contributions.
During the Chosen King Competition, there was a harsh battle for a Merit of Ascension. That said, the minimum resources given to each Ascendant was enough for those Chosen of the Ancient Sealed Region to die of envy.
"Thank you, Milord." Tuo Bihan bowed as he received three full Merits of Ascension through his Saint Ring that could be redeemed whenever he wished. Since Merits of Ascension weren't exactly necessary to be used on oneself, he didn't waste any time contemplating what to give to Qin Rui, that stubborn little girl.
Young Master Shang was only able to receive verbal praise, but he was unaware of the functions of merits when it came to the Ascendants.
"We're leaving," Wei Wuyin announced as he began to make his way toward the nearby city. Tuo Bihan had no objections and followed two steps behind, his eyes swarming with activity and contemplation.
Young Master Shang was a little tense after everything that happened. Wei Wuyin had decided to resist an irresistible temptation despite being given the most precious opportunity to ascend to the heavens on his cultivation path. Not only that, he didn't harm him despite such a precious treasure before him and the potential for it to be exposed. He didn't know what to think of it.
With a soft sigh, Young Master Shang began to think that his horizons were too shallow. The thoughts and decisions of Wei Wuyin were far beyond his own. Perhaps that's why he was a heaven-defying, convention-toppling genius. Well, it wasn't like Young Master Shang wasn't an extreme talent himself.
Without realizing it, Wei Wuyin and Tuo Bihan were already a few hundred meters away. "Wait for me!" Young Master Shang retrieved his flagon and ran after them hastily with a smile on his expression.
-----
The city below was a human-filled city with a minimum amount of technological advancement. It could be best described as a rural village the size of an average mortal city with ten-feet-high stone walls segregating the center from the outer city. The housing was crudely made of stone and wood. The style and architecture had no noticeable features, quite ordinary. The only exception was the center of the city with a temple that exuded an aura of worship, opulence amongst the primitive, and a lingering mystic aura.
The population of a little over 400,000 was quite active, especially when it came to farming and bartering. The streets were lively with brilliant smiles and there wasn't an overt gloomy air due to this being a disguised human farm. When the trio and one beautiful, slumbering companion arrived, they found themselves within the central temple.
Tuo Bihan had clashed with the Soul of Mysticism overseer a while ago, suppressing him in ways that left him unable to acclimate to reality. As an Ascended being, a mere mortal defeated him within three moves. After realizing the disparity and breaking his worldview on cultivation, the tall elderly man who oversaw the city was forced to treat the group as honored guests with a smile.
They found proper lodging within the temple. Wei Wuyin had his own room while Young Master Shang and Tuo Bihan left to explore the city with the tall, elderly man, otherwise known as the Temple Master, despite his reluctance and caution. This was the benefit of strength.
After announcing his presence to those guards watching the Gateway Door, Wei Wuyin was expecting the rulers of this world to send an envoy or arrive personally. This was even more so after the Temple Master tried sending a hidden message out that escaped none of their eyes.
On the bed of straw and a pillow of cotton, the Shard of Heaven was resting quietly. Her slumbering countenance was stellar and heart-throbbing, yet Wei Wuyin remained unmoved. He made some tea from his own reserves of tea leaves that were extremely valuable. A single cup was equivalent to the gentlest ninth-grade Mortal-rank product. The smell was fragrant and stimulating
Wei Wuyin took a sip as he eyed the young woman. "Are you done pretending to be asleep?" He asked.
The young woman's fingers slightly trembled, and then her eyes slowly opened. Her pupils were like an entire galaxy while her irises were heterochromatic, with a silver-colored left eye and a golden-colored right eye. The silver color within her left eye was Wei Wuyin's own color, exuding a resplendence that was hard to look away from.
Those eyes stared at Wei Wuyin indifferently, without the slightest trace of emotion.
Wei Wuyin didn't mind, adding: "You know, carrying you all the way here wasn't easy. You're far too soft to the touch."
"..." The newborn woman blinked, her expression unchanged.
"Fine. Fine," Wei Wuyin took another sip of his tea as he let out an exhale of contentment. "Then, do you have a name?"
"..." Once again, no clear outward response.
"Oh? Then how about Bai Yintian?" Wei Wuyin's naming sense remained fairly consistent when it came to others.
"Wei." She slowly blinked before lifting her upper torso upright, uttering a single word. Her voice was rich, gentle to the ears, and piercing to the soul, far from a newborn and far from a typical woman. This was her first word spoken as a complete existence. Wei Wuyin couldn't hold back his smile.
"Wei Yintian? That's not too bad. But you know, taking my clan's name will mean your fate is all but sealed. Is that your final decision?" Wei Wuyin asked, implying that her taking his name was no different than forever tethering herself to him, and simultaneously agreeing with his intentions.
"..." The newborn woman didn't answer verbally, only staring at Wei Wuyin. There wasn't an ounce of hesitation in her gaze. She was far more knowledgeable and aware than any other newborn, understanding worldly things.
Wei Wuyin nodded as he placed the teacup down on a small table beside him. "If that's your decision, then I won't question you again." What else could he do? This suited his objective perfectly. This was no different than announcing herself as his
"Why didn't you..." She began, her rich voice permeating the air and stimulating the ear, while her exceedingly gorgeous pair of eyes looked away in a rare show of hesitance. It took her a moment before she returned her gaze to Wei Wuyun with renewed indifference. "Why didn't you dual cultivate with me back then?"
Wei Wuyin didn't miss a beat as he grinned, "I like living, and...I refuse to bend my lifelong cultivated principles without reasonable justification."
"..." The young woman stared at him for several hours unblinkingly. Her gaze was focused to an extreme, and her thoughts were inscrutable to an outsider, but Wei Wuyin didn't mind it at all, simply observing her quietly. At times, he would lift his teacup and take a sip.
"Wei Xiaotian," she suddenly announced. "I like it."
"Xiao, huh?" Wei Wuyin contemplated the exact meaning of the name and found it quite suitable for a young woman born from heaven's will. Moreover, it gave her given name enough independence to exist alone.
"Good name!" Wei Wuyin chuckled heartily.
